  1. Damn well we need a new one. Brewster for O-line coach, pronto!
  2. I totally agree. He should have been fired immediately after the game was finished. All I want to know is why in the hell did we pick up a guy to coach O-line after he is released from a team that finished 0-13?
  3. I don't know. As I look back, it seems DD and RF didn't do too bad til Etheridge came along. Who preceeded him and why the heck is he gone!!??
  4. I bitched and bitched about Dickey for so long but I've changed my mind. Every time we make a decent play for a first down it gets called back on an O-line penalty. Worst damn O-line I've ever seen. Lineberry is not all-conference worthy anymore. Etheridge sucked for army and was booted with the rest of the staff after a 0-13 season before Bobby Ross came in. Now he has succeeded in bringing our team to crap. He needs to quit writing "Coaching front liner" books until he knows what the hell he is talking about.
  5. After reading this and what he said on MeanGreenSports, I'm going to bite my tongue for a bit and pray that he can get these players motivated. I'll now project all my frustrations on Etheridge, the O-line coach.
  6. As painful as it is, I'll be at that game whether the team shows up or not.
  7. This is off-topic but if you have followed them for this long, could you enlighten me as to whether Fouts Field was ever a comparatively nice stadium? Also, how packed were the stands during the Mean Joe NTSU days?
  8. Yep they said the same thing when SLC was playing some Lousiana team on TV. The broadcasters talked about him moving up to the college ranks and that he wouldn't do anything until his son Riley(who is a junior) graduates. I guess that's one way to make sure your son is the starting QB.
  9. Is Buddy Ryan still alive? He had some good defenses and he at least coached with emotion. Plus, it'd be cool to see him try to deck RF like he did Kevin Gilbride.
  10. Maybe you haven't watched the games where he is interviewed beforehand clearly stating we don't have a chance to win, not even if the other team quits. Another thing, I have seen VERY few coaches that are successful without getting in anyones face when they are playing like garbage. Its motiviation and if you let them sulk and cry like little babies, then that is what they will play like. Get some damn fire in their bellies! They have to show they want it. Also when has this head coach ever truly showed that he is proud to be mean and green. We know he is proud to be a K-stater and coached by daddy but where is the heart for this university.
  11. I feel the same way. I almost believe that a UNT alum with no coaching experience could do better in here for no other reason but heart. You just can't take the K-state out of DD. I think it's horse****.
  12. If Woody is not listed as a quarterback, look for him to transfer because he could be a DB closer to home as a Razorback.
  13. I meant that he'd still be getting toasted by Boise State.
  14. haha, I love that movie!
  15. The thing I like most about this guy is not the surgery that took place but the fact that he believed going in that his team had a chance to win. I'm sick of the "we'd have to play above our ablity and they'd have to play below their's crap"
  16. I'd go to every College of Music function if this were to ever happen, just to say thank you.
  17. The only way that I could possibly see this season as a postive would be if we average at least 400yds per game on offense(no way in hell), we hold the other teams under 200 total yards per game(possible no probable), and we win every game by at least 2 TDS(slim chance)
  18. I second that motion. I like Dobber. Seriously though, I've always wanted Slocum and I'll stay on that bandwagon.
  19. Alright "swallow man" I let the first comment on this thread slide but feel like I need to defend my son at this point. The first punt by Ark.St was short but the roll took it down inside the 20 maybe even the 15 yd line. Why was it not fielded?... Because everyone who has ever played the game and returned punts knows that if you can't get to it in the air or have a very favorable bounce you are supposed get away from it which is exactly what Zach did. The coaches told him that if the next one was on the ground like that to not let it roll but instead, "attemp to field it so we don't give up so many yards on the roll". So, in my opinion it was poor coaching to put anyone in the position to attempt to field a rolling football because nobody including you "swallow man" can predict how a football is going to bounce. Did Zach feel bad about the muffed punt? Of course, was it all his fault? I don't think so because if he was allowed to do what he has always been taught to do with a rolling punt which is to get the hell away from it, the turnover would not have happened. As far as it having any game changing impact on the outcome I guess it would have been 26-10 instead of 29-10 since the defense held them to a FG and the score was 10-10 after the turnover. I've seen some of your finer post over on that other POS of a board and you fit in much better over there with the rest of the bitter little people who somehow feel better when badmouthing others. ←
  20. The best thing that ever happened to DD was the Sun Belt conference because if we had stayed in the Big West, he would not be our coach right now, bank on that.
  21. Are you insane? There is not a quarterback alive that can elude an 8 man rush when they maintain outside contain. Letting Tune now would be a waste of his eligibilty. Scott Hall couldn't get this team to the NO Bowl. We need BLOCKING more than a QB.
  22. I feel bad that we have players of this caliber. It is such a waste of good talent. If J-mo and JQ were at Top 25 schools, I'm certain that they would both be drafted in the first 4 rounds to the NFL. I also think that if Cobbs hadn't went down in '04 that he would've been drafted as well. The '04 to '05 about face was so drastic that it is almost unbelievable.
  23. I honestly think Bobby Knight could get our players to do a better job even if he is a BBall coach. At least he coaches with emotion.
  24. I've been screaming this as long as I can remember. We need a coach that takes losing personally and doesn't just shrug it off. We need a coach that truly bleeds green.
  25. 1: Teach the team the importance of each conference game. Understand that you don't get to go to New Orleans with 2 losses if MTSU and Arky St are 3-0 in conference play. 2: Stop being "paycheck" players. Seems like some of them are out there because it pays for their school or they have to. You can see that quite a few players lack any intensity.
