  1. Don't forget Hawaii. They would have handed any SBC team their A$$ this year.
  2. It is a dream of mine to outnumber them at their place.
  3. After all the positive talk of play calling and offensive production in the Spring game, I had to satisfy my curiousities. Utah State Spring Game Stats From the UStateAgs.com LAggie posts: 2004AG posts: Boy I sure am happy we're finished with that chapter.
  4. I know it is far-fetched but "what-if" old Bob Stoops was concerned after losing to Boise in the Fiesta bowl and is concerned about not having film on Dodge's offense. It would be like Pittsburgh signing Cobbs after he was released from New England, the very week that Pitt was scheduled to play the Pats. Maybe I'm dreaming but I have green colored glasses. Maybe Wasson never plays a down but I wiould bet the farm that Stoops at leasts says something to Chase about the Dodge offense.
  5. Auburn doesn't have a tiger on their helmet and both teams use the University initials on their helmets. I like the Eagle as our mascot and love to chant U-N-T Eagles fight fight fight. I also like the Mean Green as our nickname, it is distinguishable and unique. I like to chant Lets go, clap, clap, Mean Green. My point to all of this is having an Eagle on the helmet will look to Philadelphia Eagle. Wearing a green ball cap with just an eagle on it in the DFW area in the midst of a fierce NFC East race may not be the best judgement call, that is just how I see it.
  6. If I don't have a paper to write or have to work, I'm in.
  7. Some these helmet designs are a little too Philadelphia for me.
  8. My only response to those with the ideo of getting rid of North Texas on the helmet is to suppose that one of these photos appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated and the title was "College Football Season On The Way"; Which of the schools (besides Miami of course) would the general public recognize? Most likely: North Texas and Troy because the teams are not yet popular enough nationwide to be recognized simply by a logo. Would it look cool? Yes, but we'll never get corporate sponsorships if nobody outside of Denton or the Sunbelt can recognize us when we play.
  9. Sweet! I'm one of the 263, I installed mine yesterday. For $30 I think it is well worth it. Also, how did you find that info?
  10. Uhh, I thought we spent all of our 'ships.
  11. Overall I like the idea. Although, it will suck having to walk farther from the tailgating, the good that could come out of this would be worth the trouble. If I learned nothing else from this year's basketball season, I did learn that winning puts butts in the seats. It seemed like the UNT crowd was rockin on CBS down there in New Orleans. I think a big reason that so many stayed in the parking lot was that Dickeyball was just plain boring. With an exciting new offense and a winning attiitude, think about all the increased revenue this could create will the locally wealthy and/or alums that are starting to notice UNT again. Goldfield Stadium in '09?
  12. It actually looks better than I would have thought.
  13. stuck at 12%, anyone have the alumni email list?
  14. I posted a link in every large athletic North Texas facebook group I could find. Hopefullly it will help a bit.
  15. Herein lies the answer. Having said that, I too hope Woody stays at the quarterback positoin.
  16. I don't know about canceling school but, maybe if there were excused absences with your ticket stub? More incentive to go to the game, instead of a bunch of people that don't care getting a free day outside of class.
  17. SLC is a top program at their level. I hope we can be at the top our level, I would then welcome the comparisons.
  18. Well, what was a little strange was around 8:30, I think, when they had Dave Barnett on, then he decided to join the good ol' boy North Texas alumni club. Two-faced if you ask me but at least one of them acknowledges our success.
  19. Recruiting too early can bite you in the backside. Ask that QB from Austin Westlake.
  20. I don't think you can say it is just for the "diehard fans". In football, nearly every game is on a Saturday evening and there are no more than 13 games to attend. In basketball, there are 3 times as many games, many of which are on weeknights. It is much more difficult for someone to break away from their business/family life 17 times a season which includes weeknights, than it is to break away for 4-6 Satuday evenings in the fall. Does it make you less of a fan if the simple fact that the timing and frequency of the games prevents you from attending the majority of them?
