I will take a disciplined program with closed pratices that wins over a piss poor program with open practices anyday. If I remember correctly, OU was having closed practices too while they find a qb. FIU and MTSU with spies? Ha. Although, there IS a certain coach 30 minutes south of Denton that may be willing to do whatever he has to not to lose to NT again with his job on the line. OU can't afford another TCU or Boise State occurence. FAU and on will have film on us from the OU game and possible the SMU game. These two programs have nothing to gain by beating us and everything to lose if we beat them. Respect the coach's wishes and stop whining. It could be worse, we could still have Darrell "8 in the box" Dickey here. I hope closing practice will drive more people to the away games.

This is the Hartfords we went and watched the Sun Belt championship basketball game at. A good place with good people and the other patrons seemed nice as well. Some guy (non-North Texas) told me congrats after we won when I walked by wearing my green gear. It was nice.

I just don't get how a punter can trump a 2-pt conversion that gives you the lead.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Isn't the media that posts the practice schedule and not the coaches? Isn't there a sign on every side of the practice fields saying practice is closed the media and visitors? Wasn't it posted here and on meangreensports.com that the scrimmage would be closed to the public? Weren't there people on this board that ignored the closing and stated they would go anyway? I don't see a problem with the coaching staff, I see the problem with the media and visitors. If practice is closed, it is closed, don't expect it to be open until they state it to be open. Wait for a coach's confirmation. You want to watch some dodgeball that bad? Watch the spring game until your eyes dry out or load up on OU tickets. Don't take your inability to respect the rules out on Coach Dodge.

I see 2 NFL players on the '03 team, one of whom that was taken in the NFL draft. How many on the current squad have a shot at being drafted? I'm not discounting the current team's ability to be great but you really have to look at the difference between the offense we had with the one we have now. The defense was responsible for quite a few of those 26 consecutive conference wins.

It sure would be nice if we could sell our allotment just once.

Neither, I'm just an impartial observer that thinks it is wrong to ask people that actually give a damn about the game to move so you can sit with a "clique" and not actually pay any attention to what is going on with the team. I guess you're too busy planning the after-party while the rest of us are concerned with a 3rd and long draw play.

Medpilot's "If your offensive coodinator is more aggressive in the stands than he is with his play calling?....You might be a Mean Green Fan." and FFR's "....if you have ever kicked a white, pink-eyed squirrel across a sidewalk?" are pure greatness!! I could only come up with: If in the past two years, the most exciting words you could possibly hear were "...and that's good for another Mean Green FIRST DOWN!!!" If you feel compelled to wear something that says North Texas on it any time you leave the house just so people know the school exists. If you've created gameday signs with slogans like "Ride the Ponies", "Gimme Woody", and "I still got Wood-y" for a good laugh If you've ever been pissed off at your head coach for putting the starters BACK in the game(La Tech) If you've ever been so disgusted with your head coach for putting the team on the field in black practice jerseys, that you left the game early and removed all mean green stickers from your auto until his replacement would be named. If you've ever driven an hour through traffic to Denton for a press conference just to hear that an exciting brand of football is coming to Denton..... ........you might be a Mean Green Fan!!!

I still have a bad taste in my mouth about Meager. It may not even be his fault but its like getting really drunk and the next day you have a terrible hangover. You tell yourself that you are never going to drink again because you don't want to feel as bad as you did. Eventually, one of your buddies suckers you into a drink and you like the taste, you are just more cautious this time. Point is, if there is a glass of Meager on the table, I need to be convinced that it won't make me sick because I haven't seen anything since the MTSU game in '05 that would convince me of it is safe to drink again.

A place for the Talons reserved section! Yes! We don't have to complain about their "assigned" seats anymore. Sorry, but why not just get there early enough not to have to reserve your seat?

Two years ago we would have been ecstatic for that kind of quality of recruit, I don't think we have the right to bash them on it just yet.

Don't the big schools have the kickers with the strongest legs to begin with? Won't that hurt the smaller schools the most?
