  1. I can't speak as to what is going on with Dawson, Mahan, and Warren because I wonder myself. However Green has been getting beat(see FAU), Meager is to Bledsoe as Vizza is to Romo, Rose may not have the agility of Bailey but I sure as hell trust Spencer Leftwich's judgement.
  2. His number changed and he is now a db. I've only seen him on kickoff coverage.
  3. I"ve seen Breece on the field, it's easy to tell he and Nelson apart. Nelson doesn't line up at reciever and Breece doesn't line up at safety. Desoto played at Arkansas too towards the end of the game.
  4. He may be the most aggressive player on our team. Have you seen him on kickoff return? Everytime he is determined to put the guy he is blocking on the ground or make him wish he was.
  5. The Rangers have major league talent but I doubt Connie Mack, John McGraw, or anyone else could take them to the seris right now. The players do the best they can but practice and workouts can only take you so far. You need raw physical abiltiy and a quite a few of ours are lacking in speed. Johnny Quinn overcame this by running track and became an even better player than he would've been. He needs to get some of our other players to follow suit.
  6. Good observation. I was excited about the D-line play during the game Saturday. The part that killed us was when they got to the second level a few plays.
  7. I agree. If we had been successful we wouldn't hear all of this complaining. I trust in Coach Dodge and his decisions.
  8. Kmb0204 and I will be in the orange lot by the bus stop; green tent, black ranger truck, miniature black and white television, and a large mean green flag waving in the bed. During the game, we're just to the right of the fifty on the student side, about halfway up the lower section.
  9. Am I the only one that thinks the NCAA would've looked the other way if it had been Florida, Florida State, or Miami?
  10. The MNF crew gives me tired head. Trent Edwards blah blah blah. Marshawn Lynch blah blah blah. They haven't scored an offensive touchdown yet. Some bad passes and special teams are the only reason they are winning.
  11. I was reflecting on when Meager was named the starter for the season and was thinking that it was a good idea to have Meager start through the Arkansas game so Vizza didn't get killed. It actually happened. I'm shocked, I feel like Nostradamus or something. Also, if we're going to use a scholly on a kicker, how about a kickoff man, the other teams are getting REALLY good starting field position.
  12. Weren't we 1-4 at this time last year coming off a 35-0 a$$-whipping at the hands of mighty MTSU on homecoming? Take a chill pill. Also noteworthy, through 5 games last year NT had punted 30 times to the opponents' 19 times. This year NT has punted 33 times to the opponents' 22 times. If my math skills are still intact that means that this year the same ratio exists. The games just involve more possessions without Darrell Dickey's run out the clock from the start of the game offense.
  13. I for one am excited about the future for the first time since the SMU game. Think about it, without the first game jitters, Giovanni leads us to our first victory. With the jitters behind him, I think he will continue to blossom into a stellar qb. It also seemed to me that, save for a few big plays, the defense played with a lot more intensity. Did I see us get a sack? Todd Dodge was on the sidelines screaming at the refs or somebody. You could tell they went all out in George's postgame talk with TD. We're on the lip of the cup and punchin' it in for six. I'm telling you, "greener" skies are ahead. I'll bet one of you all the $1 hotdogs you can eat that we beat ULM this week.
  14. You guys that throw stats out and missed the Arkansas game missed a lot. You could see and feel a difference. Jamario and Micah both ran harder with the rookie in there. Also, if Arkansas' dbs were wide receivers, you could've added 3 more ints to DM's stats.
  15. If you are comparing the two quarterbacks, it is imperative that you only use stats from the OU and UA games. The games against SMU and FAU in which Vizza didn't play skews the data.
  16. Wow, that would piss me off something fierce!
  17. YAY! Somebody said it! Could we get the cheerleaders a "Football for dummies" manual? We are in a no-huddle spread offense. We need to be quiet so they can get the signals in. THAT IS WHAT HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE IS ABOUT! Make noise when the other team is on offense so you can disrupt their signals and snap count, not ours. I also think "First and 10, do it again, go, go" should be banned until we go back to a slow paced offense with huddles. I hope that never happens.
  18. I just got a crazy idea. I don't know if it has any merit but I'll throw it out to you guys anyway. Could it be that Mendoza had an unfair advantage at SLC in that the Dragon offense was so potent that other teams were busy trying to play catchup? Would forcing teams to deviate from a ball control mode to a score now mode increase the chance of mistakes and turnovers? At North Texas we haven't developed the offense fully yet so teams haven't had to overcome a healthy points lead like SLC's opposition did.
