  1. That's right. I was thinking it was a family environment. I was thinking drugs, alcohol, profanity, and weapons weren't allowed in the stadium. My bad. I guess things are different in Fayetteville at U of A where I saw an Arkansas fan and a North Texas fan both told to watch their language by the police or they would be thrown out of the game.
  2. You're absolutely right, the coaches should just let their players yell profanity when less than 50 feet from children. Good Call.
  3. This is what I've thought all along. I do wonder what the foul word was though. If this is the case, I hope that the NAACP comes down on Green for that one. Chatman is just jumping on the bandwagon because he is suspended and wants to hurt the people that hurt him. You missed practice, that has nothing to do with race, get over it.
  4. Only those on the field know that. Vito only knows what Dom told him since nobody else is talking. That may very well be what Dom said, with grammatical cleanup at the very least.
  5. If what is said in the paper is what Dom said, I'm fine with it, the players can say that if they wish. They're in the heat of battle. However, I truly don't believe what Dom told Vito is what he actually said. Think about it. Vito quoted Dom as saying, "We are from the hood". That sounds way too much like an english teacher speaking and way too little like a young man with his adrenaline pumping. He may have just said, "We from the hood baby!" or something like that but my bet is that whatever words Dom chose to exclude are the reason for the altercation. Insert any derrogatory term for baby, m f'er, b-word, whatever, then you have coaches on your rear about it.
  6. FAU's owl knocked Scrappy's head off last year in Denton so I'm going to have to say I like FAU the least. Like KRAM1 stated, the only team I can think of that I could hate enough to start dropping f-bombs would be SMUt.
  7. hmm, I wonder who has him on their fantasy team?
  8. Well let's see. After 4 straight conference championships, 4 straight bowl appearances, and one bowl victory, I would say that a 50-2 loss at home to a CUSA team is a good start to a chronic problem. I don't recall the new coaching staff having served seven years already so I think we should at least give them one season to get the players used to an entirely new regime. If memory serves me correctly, Oklahoma and SMU watched SLC game film to prepare for us. The current staff had no film of their players in their entirely new system. We've played seven games, correct? 7 hours of football against a live opponent and you guys are ready to quit on the coaching staff. You can't build a program from nothing in such a short time.
  9. You seem very confident that you know what goes on behind the scenes. It's funny but I know a couple guys on the team who are seniors, who've been to a New Orleans bowl, and the only answer I get when I ask about the difference in the coaches is, "It's nice not to be treated like $hi!t".
  10. I guess you're right. It is apples to apples. Mike Shula left the cupboard completely bare. They went to a bowl game last year and played nearly all SEC opponents very close. The year before last they went 10-2 and won the cotton bowl. Their team truly was one of the worst in the SEC. Wait, what about Ole Miss and Miss. State? Oh yea, I forgot, Orgeron and Croom have been dominant since these two took over. Oh, by the way, how man BCS national champoinships has Todd Dodge won? The man just came from High School, give him time to adjust. Nick Saban just came from the NFL and has won a BCS national champoinship with an SEC team. Who do you think is better prepared to lead a team to vicory in their first season, a high school coach with a team coming off of a 5-18 record the last two seasons, or an NFL/championship collegiate coach with a team coming off a 16-9 record the last two seasons? You say apples, I say bologna.
  11. I'm in. Coach Archie, you're welcome to come by our tent as well.
  12. Talent. Besides Weathers, could anyone on our team start for Bama? Have we ever had a recruit choose NT over Bama? Give Dodge that talent level and then maybe you could make a valid point. If your kid is fat, you tell the kid that they are just normal but you are in denial if you can't tell yourself your kid is fat. You don't tell individual players that they aren't D-1 but if you say there is no talent gap with this progam and others, you are in denial. What did DD tell the players the reason he got fired was again? I just thought I would ask ince we constantly say that we have a crop of quality D-1 talent.
  13. I usually get there before 11 so Ican get a spot by the bus stop. I don't think the lot filled last game, maybe it did, but not before 4 o'clock or so.
  14. Yep and if you added 2 SEC powerhouses early in their season, that would really kill their offensive numbers.
  15. Apparently you missed metaphor day in English class. This team and coaching staff is in its infancy just like a young child's athletic ability playing his first sport.
  16. I must say I'd rather be lied to on a positive note than to be blatently told we suck. This leads to miserable attendance, fans becoming f'ers, and staff firings.
  17. Mediocrity? Are you kidding me? You can settle for mediocrity with a coach in his 9th season with a sub .500 record but a first year coach. You guys are out of your minds.
  18. I think you're being a bit ridiculous here. You act like we got pounded by FIU. I'll remember that Troy is "just a sunbelt team" when they give Georgia all they can handle in a couple of weeks. Remember, Boise State and Hawaii are "just WAC teams". If we get pounded over the next couple years by FIU, stAte, ULM, ULL and so on, then go ahead and whine about it. Now is not the time. Do you throw your kid out there for teeball and then criticize him for sucking? No, you give him time to get used to the game and increase his talent level. Give TD time to get used to the college game and get a higher talent level in here.
  19. Well you can always tell the pessimist in the group. You say they had 7 turnovers, I'll choose to say we forced 7 turnovers. We can only get better from here.
  20. Despite our own issues, wouldn't it be neat to see Troy run the table the rest of the year and make the top 25? The generalizations about the Sunbelt could cease. That or a BCS conference will snatch Troy up faster than you can blink.
  21. Would you consider Oklahoma State a paycheck game? They beat OSU and played well against the 2 SEC schools. 09/01 at #21 Arkansas L 46-26 09/08 at #4 Florida L 59-31 09/14 Oklahoma St W 41-23 09/22 at La Lafayette W 48-31 09/29 ULMONROE W 24-7 10/06 at Fla Int'l W 34-16 10/20 N Texas W 45-7
  22. Are you guys forgetting that Troy isn't a pushover anymore? We just couldn't get the offense going this week. It takes time. Troy beat Oklahoma State this year and also played Arkansas and Florida tough. They are on a 5 game winning streak and even received a vote in the AP top 25 poll. Relax a bit.
  23. You misunderstood. The Arkansas fans were very friendly. It was one of our own Athletic Department employees that was a jerk.
  24. I was wondering why Nurudeen didn't play at all in the last couple of games.
