  1. So Dodge held a gun to his head? The kid was probably excited to play! If he was worried about losing a season of eligibilty under a "lame duck" coach(as you guys say) he could have refused and said no thanks, I don't want to lose my shirt coach.
  2. I'm with you man. You guys act like there is no alternative to Derek Thompson in 2013. Dodge wanted to win this game because it may be his last. I don't blame him for doing what he could to pull this one out. I guess Mack Brown is an idiot too for using Garrett Gilbert for mopup duty.
  3. Baine was not on the trip. I didn't see him in uniform for the Army game either.
  4. Get over yourself! He didn't screw anyone. He was fighting for his life in what may be his last game as head coach. If he would've put in Carey or Hamiltion to just take the snap and fall on the ball, you would be complaining about how he just gave up. He fought to the end. Thompson was the only quarterback in Jonesboro that was not injured who has learned the Mean Green's plays for that particular position. I would have done the same thing.
  5. Todd Dodge has one of the most difficult sets of circumstances in the country, Darrell Dickey knows because he used to work here everyday.
  6. Because the further you get from the Army game, the less the emotion from that games weighs on your vote. If you would have polled me on the way out of the stadium I would've have fired him but because I had time to really think about the pros and cons thereafter, I ultimately chose stay.
  7. I think you misinterpret the comment. That means he doesn't know, not that he does not think he will be back. If your company is doing poorly and the possiblity of layoffs comes up, you would say the same thing.
  8. I think keep the current coach. If he sucks next year you can open the stadium with the excitement of a new coach. If you fire Dodge now and the new coach sux next year, we may open the new stadium to little fanfare
  9. June Jones has a cool million a year, a completed new stadium, and Gerald Ford.
  10. Who was the last recruit we had rated that high(minus Jamario who I understand came here because of a learning disablity we had a program for) before Dodge got here/?
  11. These are all things you guys have said during TD's tenure and before. If we have a new coach, we are very likely to be in the same boat or worse, three years behind where we are now.
  12. Despite his record, Dodge is about the best person you could have when you need to raise money. Think of all the wealthy families and connections he has. His college coaching recored may be poor but he is still regarded as one of the best quarterback coaches and motivational speakers around. In addition, he is a great recruiter, he could sell a freezer to a penguin(name your saying).
  13. If we had a new coach. If we had better recruits. If we had a new defensive coordinator. If we had a new special teams/dline coach. If we had better facilities. If we had coaches who were nice to fans. If we had a team without discipline and grade problems. IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF
  14. If the Army player hadn't made a fantastic shoestring tackle you guys would be singing a different tune this weekend.
  15. Oh man, don't remind me, I was so pissed I left in the first quarter and didn't even care if we won or lost that game.
  16. That is my point. TEXAS BRINGS THE BODYBAGS!! The only team Texas has to compete with year in and year out, on the field and off it(for recruits) is Oklahoma, everyone else is just another victim. You think our talent level is better than everyone we play (out of conference include) except for Troy?
  17. Wasn't this the consensus for Trey Newton?
  18. Darrell Dickey was fired for more than just his record. he had an attitude, a piss-poor OC he wouldn't fire, and did not capitalize on a very good 4 yr run. Darrell Dickey got a fourth season despite going 3-8, 2-9, and 3-8 in his first 3 seasons. Dodge started his fourth year at 0-5 before the conference winning streak started. I think one more year is fair. If he doesn't get it done next year, then by all means let him go.
  19. I don't know if you actually watched the Alabama game but it was terrible. Tune lacks Riley's mobility and did not throw a pick because he didn't make a pass over 5 yards it seemed like. He was being protected by the gameplan. If memory serves me correctly, the only time Tune threw downfield, it hit the Bama player in the hands and he dropped it.
  20. These 1000 are equally qualified? I guess since there are 120 I-A quarterbacks so Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are just as replaceable as the next guy. With your logic, why would the upper tier firms pay ten times the wage when they can pull from the vast applicant pool someone who is equally qualified and less expensive?
  21. Mack Brown makes over ten times what Dodge makes. They pretty much have their pick of the talent pool for the entire state. If someone goes 2-10 at Texas they are probably gone after their first season. It is not quite the same scenario as we have.
  22. Saturated with quality prospects who will work for entry level wages?
