  1. In fairness, Baine was offered by Navy and Air Force, allegedly.
  2. Former baseball player, should have a good arm. -saysojoe 12-17-07 Been with the team since Spring of 08. That means he has been through 3 offseasons, he is not as new to the program as some think. -saysojoe 3-10-09 I'm guessing he can throw farther than Riley? -NTEX1990 8-14-09 -NT03 8-22-09 ^^Last sentence could be an issue. -Censored by Laurie 8-24-09 ^^concerning when Riley is listed as having a strong arm and the others aren't.
  3. I heard a funny saying about this topic recently. It is probably common but I hadn't heard it before. If you see someone wearing an Aggie shirt, they probably went to Texas A&M. If you see someone wearing a Longhorn shirt, they probably went to Walmart.
  4. If I were going to bet the house. 1. <5% 2. <5% 3. 40% 4. >50%
  5. The same East Carolina that has won back to back CUSA championships with 9 wins the past two years and paying between $500k and $1M depending on perfomance bonuses? It is easy to say pass when you are the reigning champ.
  6. I hope you are dropping 5 figures on the program every year with talk like that. I don't know if you have noticed the economic news over the past two years but it is something to consider; especially considering the we couldn't put the money together for a new stadium after 4 straight conf chanpionships and 26 straight conference wins. It took a high school coaching legend and a student vote to get it done. A student vote similar to the one rejected during Dickey's bowl run. The conspiracy theorist says that Dodge may have been brought in primarily to get the stadium built. Think about it. The great majority of college students come straight out of high school. Most of the high school students coming to North Texas are coming from DFW schools. All of these now North Texas students remember Dodge as the high school coaching legend that either led their school or beat up on their school. This would provide the excitement and student vote needed to finally approve the athletics fee. Thoughts?
  7. Joe Moglia I heard this guy on the Jim Rome show today and he grabbed my interest. Could we be the team that gives this man a chance? Welcome to Ameritrade Mean Green Stadium? He would certainly be a fantastic head coach from a management side. He is learning Xs and Os again from Bo Pelini and Tom Osborne. If this guy brought in some bang up assistants, he could really get our ship moving with the new stadium. I bet he can fundraise better than everyone in our athletic dept combined. On top of that, he knows some very wealthy people. Thoughts? Let's start thinking realistically. Mike Leach, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, nor the ghost of Tom Landry is coming to North Texas until it is proven to have the resources(donors) to compete on a national level. EDIT: The title was supposed to have a question mark on the end.
  8. I agree. Somebody has been passing the peace pipe around again. SMU is a private school with old money and they had to dig DEEP in the donor pool to get June Jones.
  9. I know it's tasteless but I just had to laugh. The amount of injuries hitting this time is comical at this point.
  10. If Leach coaches next year, IF he coaches next year, it will be for Washington State, Arizona State, or Colorado.
  11. This team expects to lose and they fulfill that prophecy every time. We have the talent to have whipped Rice, FAU, and ULL. We also should have beaten Army. I'm sick of excuses. If a player is unable to perform their job because of a teammate's death, then they should sit for that game. Some players have career games after deaths close to them (Farve anyone?). Injuries hurt, sure, but I'd bet that even without all the injured players, we were still more talented than ULL so that is no excuse. Penalties are a killer. They need to be fixed NOW! As Coach Bud Kilmer would say, "I don't want no excuses, I want you to fix it"
  12. Well if you drop passes you should catch a spot on the bench which again falls to the coaches.
  13. I guess position coaches are just for looks since they aren't responsible for the careless mistakes of their players.
  14. Since we are living in fairytale land, I will take these guys.
  15. He is Barry Switzer/Les Miles.
  16. I don't think we had this many penalties after Andrew Smith passed and he was a starting quarterback in our only bowl win. Also, when considering the comebacks from fairly large deficits, remember how they came about in the first place. It starts and stops with the coaches. I'm sick of making excuses for these guys. Junior High Teams play smarter football than we do.
  17. If we lose every home game by 1 point, is that progress enough to give Dodge one more year?
  18. Haha. So true. What does it say about the coaching staff when you are penalized 15 times?
  19. I could not agree more. The way we have run up penalty yardage since Dodge has been here is inexcusable. Maybe Santiago is a four year starter, but if he gets 3 penalties a game, sit him.
  20. I have a bad feeling that the FAU win was just like Dickey's over SMU. One big win for the program before you get shown the door. If we ever get a coach in here that can get his players to play mistake free football, we will own this conference again. I'm sick of the stupid freakin penalties. On a lighter note, I bet $5 against us tonight so I will have almost $10 on Monday when my buddy gets back from Vegas.
  21. ULM is doing pretty well on offense. This game could be closer if it weren't for so many stupid penalties. I guess it is a Sun Belt thing. The day we play mistake free football as a conference is the day we jump conference USA for 2nd dog of non-BCS conferences to the MWC.
  22. Singing glory to the green, singing glory to the white, singing glory to the black?
  23. Let's give a cheer for U of NT! Cheer for the green and white and black?
