I know most of you older alums are in favor of the 2nd coming of Hayden Fry, but what about this gentleman? He coached for us for 21 years, had a winning overall record, 10 conference championships, and was named national coach of the year. We were a really good team at one time and after the last 30yrs of mostly garbage, we are barely above .500 for our history. We need someone with staying power who can get us back to being a perennial winner.

I think it is time to get a defensive coach in here. We have not had a Defensive Head Coach since Corky Nelson.

He saw the writing on the wall. It was a no lose situation for him. If we won, he said Dodge's ass and get the credit and help his head coaching prospects. If we lost, he would get to take over as interim HC. He know this was his best shot to be a HC rather than sitting out a year.

I say 9k tops. If we had won against ULM I would have said 12k.

I agree Rick. Texas State has a beautiful stadium now after the upgrades. They are growing and would be a great addition. It seems to me that the 41 people you mentioned are a bit hypocritical. I would imagine the same ones that say they are just FCS and it would diminish our conference and set us back are the same people that complain about the shaft the non-AQ schools get when trying to get national recognition, into BCS bowls, or into BCS conferences. If it is status quo you want, it is the status quo you get. There was a time when we were "just a FCS school" too.

Less excited than with Todd Dodge? We have not hired a replacement head coach yet so you must be saying he would be less exciting than Todd Dodge.

Gene Chizik was terrible at ISU but is doing well at Auburn. Who is to say McCarney can't have success in Denton?

F'n Norm Hitzges! George Dunham should threaten to rip his tongue out should he ever pick us again. On a lighter note, I'd like to thank ULM for taking a leak in my green kool-aid and bringing me back to reality. As far as I'm concerned, a loss to ULM is not excusable at this point. Canales just dropped out of the running in my mind. Bring on Leavitt! I want a defensive coach because ours is just flat out not getting it done.

Here We currently sit better in our own conference standings than they do in theirs. Their is nothing about that record that excites me about the future of North Texas. Also, please don't give me the "only lost by X amount of points" garbage. If that crap mattered we'd be working on Todd Dodge's contract extension.

Or we could end up with David Baliff.
