  1. UTSA and TSU both have over 30k students. I don't think you can ignore them forever. I think we should strike up a relationship with at least TSU-SM since they trail us by only 3500 students and would be a nice roadtrip for you guys and a close to home game for me.
  2. I think most of the qbs on our rosters are head and shoulders over McNulty. I worry about Thompson's duribility. Osborn is perpetually in the doghouse for some reason and we haven't seen Cooper Jones yet. I think he could only make us better, especially since Canales thought he was worthy of a scholly to a BCS school.
  3. He has 2yrs. Will be a grad student and is only a RS sophomore. RS-Junior in '12 and RS-Senior in '13 as long as he chooses a graduate program we have that Tech doesn't.
  4. You guys were great! I could hear you very well. I was 7 rows back from the floor and the North Texas chant could be hear throughout the arena.
  5. Recruited by Canales for South Florida Already graduated so could use the graduate program transfer rule to play D1 in 2012 without sitting a year.
  6. I will be there with my wife. Midcourt 7 rows back. Section 20, Row 7.
  7. I'm in central Texas but have done my best so far to avoid the grip of TWC's minimum $60/mo. service.
  8. He sure looks like a college lineman.
  9. Beep Beep? "Who got the keys to the jeep, vroom?"
  10. Let us put this in perspective. Season ticket sales "Now, having sold 10,002 season tickets through Wednesday, they're rapidly recalibrating what they thought was possible for their first-year program." "With 16 days until the inaugural game on Sept. 3, Fox said UTSA could finish with as many as 12,000." "UTSA has currently sold roughly 29,000 seats for the opener, with another 15,000 reserved for students." They had 56743 for the opener and only 25977 for the Georgia State game. If they are counting 12000 season tickets for every game, that is a significant amount skewing actual attendance. This is what nearly 26k fans looks like when the home team runs on to the field(what ten minutes before kickoff?). Only about 2k additional fans seen here. I don't trust UTSA numbers.
  11. It isn't too far fetched to make the argument that the following 10 former qbs on our roster could have matched or bettered McNulty's performance thus far. There is no evidence that he is a D1A qb prospect other than reports from a closed practice conducted by one of his father's best friends. 1.)3-Star Rivals athlete 4.5 40yd dash .......... 12. I just hope we don't somehow end up in the WAC.
  13. While you are correct on the sample size being small, this is not an economic or quantitative analysis. He is not predicting the amount of snaps each will take or the value of each snap. What he is saying, as you did, is that McNulty is getting prime stat producing opportunities. He gets these even over our starting qb. He has every right to make the assumption that factors other than performance may be at play here. Additionally, Garrett Gilbert is, by all accounts, a phenomenal practice player but that does not help you beat Iowa State or Baylor.
  14. I think you misunderstood his point. Look to where the snaps were taken. Thompson and Osborn both have driven the team down the field and then someone puts in the true freshman for goal line duty. Is this to help his stats? Make sure he scores the first touchdown in the history of our stadium? Nobody knows. The simple fact is that Osborn has driven the team down the field against Alabama's backups(I'd say better quality than Tulsa starters) only to have McNulty come in and fail to score points. He has only been used in goal line work so why did they decide that now was the time? McNulty has not played in mopup duty, he has only been inserted for the opportunity to score points. If the coaches have him in there for his running ability then they are better off in the wildcat with James Hamilton, who just happens to have as much HS qb experience as McNulty only Hamilton played against much better competition in TX.
  15. I heard there was a racial slur scribbled in the bathroom of McCarney's favorite pizza joint and it is still visible even though it has been painted over.
  16. Kurt VanValkenburgh The Dude's landlord
  17. I wonder if he goes out to "practice" when grades are given. From DRC Clearly every other FBS school in the country missed that this guy could be a true freshman starting qb.
  18. "Playing for the future" or getting the freshman some experience at the cost of being blown out again this year is a disservice to Lance and the rest of the seniors. I just get the feeling that if Chico is the head coach that Osborn starts that game.
  19. They beat us by 46 two years ago when we were worse than we are now and Bama was on there way to the National Title. I think he will call the dogs off in the 1st or 2nd qtr like last time and it will end up in the low 50s for them and we'll end up with probably 7 or so. I'd take us plus the 47 if it were my money but the rules state you should never bet on your own team.
  20. Awesome! Thank you. I feel so much better now.
  21. Just a quick question since I'm no longer a student and don't have the knowledge. Is a student with a student ticket required to show ID at the gate or could a student get his "student ticket" and scalp it to a UH fan for 100% profit? Not trying to be a negative Nancy, just wondered if this situation had been considered. I know at old Fouts they didn't want to let me in for my first game because my ID didn't want to scan even though it was clearly me and clearly a UNT Student ID.
  22. Has anyone gotten this to actually work? I get the following message:
  23. Hays’ starting center Boone Feldt, Blake’s son, was taken to the hospital via ambulance for precautionary measures at after sustaining a big hit in the first quarter but was released before the end of the game.
  24. Time Warner (at least in Austin) requires you to have a cable tv package through them that includes the ESPN channels in order to have access to ESPN3. I have Time Warner and will be listening to George and Hank for my coverage since it isn't showing anywhere in Austin.
