  1. I wen on the HOD website and counted the unavailable seats in the open sections. I excluded seats that looked like they were blocked off, those in the top rows when many lower row seats were available. These seats were pretty much rows 51 and up. After this adjustment it looks like HOD has sold just under 5k tickets through their site. I hope we get a larger push as it gets closer to game time. I don't want it to look like at thanksgiving weekend game at Fouts.
  2. Yea, they aren't closing the entire upper deck because they are selling tickets in section 124 for $50.
  3. I didn't get season tickets this year so the priority system would have been to my detriment. I paid the same $75 but know I have seats on the 45yd line 12 rows up. I did what was in my own best interest. If the NT ticket office would have been able to say you can purchase these seats in section x row x for x cost, I would have considered it. I just wanted the best seats I could get and they weren't going to be available to me through our ticket office. My buddy and I have waited 8 years for this bowl game and I got us the best seats I could.
  4. I know it is unpopular but for some of you with deep pockets who may be interested, they have opened up the $125 chairback seats on the HOD website. Somebody could get a couple of those and convince someone else to come to the game using their AD dept purchased tickets.
  5. My opinion is yes Texas would have played better with Colt but Alabama still would have beaten them handily. In rewatching some of the game I realized that the Alabama offense was trying to act like a Big 12 offense in trying to make McElroy throw it. Once they got back to their bread and butter power run game, Texas D looked like swiss cheese. I think it took Kirby Smart and his players awhile to feel out the UT offense before they really settled in to make big plays. I've always questioned McCoy's fortitude for not at least making an attempt to come in the game. He had to protect that 3rd round draft status I guess. I know there are quarterbacks out there that could have an arm fall off and ask for it to be taped back on to play in a National title game. Riley even though he was injury prone was a guy like that, Vizza was too. Link to game http://youtu.be/4vxwlglDXUY?t=6m02s
  6. So they would be telling young men where they would have to go to school?
  7. For some $25 is a noticeable amount of money; especially those that live on a budget. Don't be so judgemental.
  8. Same here. Attending from 2005 to 2007 didn't leave too many postivie moments to choose from.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr6kM3BIZsQ Proponents of Mayfield who have not watched the kid play, I beg you to watch the TTU vs UT game above.
  10. Are you serious? You don't think this could have the slightest bit to do with the different offensive system? He actually threw for 300 fewer yards (2,315 Mayfield vs 2,640 Thompson) and he did it in 20 fewer pass attempts (340 Mayfield vs 360 Thompson) so the 4 game difference is really irrelevant.
  11. Maybe he wants to follow in fellow Lake Travis grad Garrett Gilbert's footstep at Smut.
  12. Are you sure about that Emmitt? Let's see what the stats say. Against their 3 OOC opponents(SMU-AAC, SFA-FCS, TSSM-Sunbelt): Baker completed 70.9% of his passes for 904 yards (301 yards per game) while throwing 7 touchdowns(2.3 per game) and only 1 interception(.33 per game). He was sacked 5 times(1.67 per game). He rushed 27 times for 86 yards (3.2 yards per carry and 29 yards per game) and scored 1 touchdown(.33pg). He also fumbled twice (.67 per game). Against the 5 conference opponents he faced(TCU, Kansas, Kansas St, Baylor, Texas) He completed 60.9% of his passes for 1,411 yards(282 per game) while throwing 5 touchdowns(1 per game) and 8 interceptions(1.6 per game). He was sacked 19 times(3.8 per game). He rushed 61 times for 104 yards (1.7per carry and 20.8 per game) and scored 2 touchdowns(.66pg). He fumbled 6 times(1.2 per game). So to sum up going 140 of 230 for 1,411 yards with 5 TDs, 8 picks, 19 sacks, and 6 fumbles in 5 Big 12 games doesn't scream to me please come to North Texas. He can come in as a walk-on and compete but he hasn't shown anything worthy of being a priority.
  13. Correct. When Tech played SMUg in the first game of the season, the last 3 Lake Travis quarterbacks were on the two teams. Gilbert, Mayfield, and Brewer.
  14. Why are we so eager to get a walk-on from a big 12 school? If Connor Brewer doesn't get hurt Baker doesn't start a down this season. Would we be this excited if he had taken his offer to Rice or FAU, put up the same stats and then wanted to transfer? Do any of you remember Latif Nurudeen? We were so excited to get a walk-on transfer from Baylor, then he came and was just another player.
  15. Thompson's rivals page showed a 4.7 40yd dash while Mayfield's shows a 4.65. Thompson is probably 4 inches taller. Mayfield thinks he is a runner but he is not. Anyone that actually watched him play against Texas would know this.
  16. He beat SMU(5-7), SFA(3-9), Texas State(6-6), and Kansas(3-9). He lost to Baylor(11-1), Kansas State(7-5), and Texas(8-4). He had Tech in a tie with TCU(4-8) when Davis Webb came in and won the game. He hasn't exactly beaten the top of the big 12(minus 2). He beat teams with a combined 17-31 record and lost to every team he played with a winning record. I think Dajon or Berglund would be a better option. I think McNutlty would be a tossup.
  17. That is only 1,333 tickets. I'm sure they will sell way more than that.
  18. This is UNLV's first bowl since 2000. I'm sure they will travel more than 800.
  19. I got mine through the HOD website. Section 6 Row 12. Awesome seats. I know I will catch grief for not puchasing through the AD but I have the piece of mind knowing where I'm sitting already. Im not a season ticket or MGC membership holder this year so my seats could not have been as good as the ones I got through HOD. I'm sure the Bowl organizers will look at the stadium to see the colors everyone is wearing in addition to the number of tickets each AD sells. A rational bowl organizer would realize that many fans will book through HOD and take that in consideration. They just want a full house.
  20. Many players want to become coaches after playing,. What should they major in? Kinesiology/PE, you think? They don't have a football coaching degree so Kin/PE is the best option.
