  1. Ever heard of Cam Feldt? 2015 season will be year 4 in which he sits out before becoming eligible in 2016, his RS senior season.
  2. I was kinda shocked that it was actually written by Vito. I think that was the first rational comments he has made on McNulty. Is he trolling me by saying the opposite of what I expect him to say?
  3. Like it or not, Todd Dodge was a major contributor to our getting Apogee Stadium. I can't say anything good about Benford. At least once.
  4. Let's not go off the deep end. If you could've told the fanbase 14 years ago that over the next 14 years you will have 5 bowl appearances with 2 victories, 4 conference titles. 2 NCAA tournament appearances(don't know how many basketball conference titles or 20 win seasons), have one basketball coach stolen by UT and another by LSU, a new stadium, new practice facility, a better conference, new athletic center, a new softball field and a new soccer field,, I think most fans would've jumped at the chance. How much did NT advance in the 14 years prior to RV? I wasn't around so I don't know. or the lack of a distributor
  5. Boykin>McNulty Offense is handcuffed by the ability of the quarterback. TCU has a Heisman contender at qb, we don't even have an all-conference honorable mention contender.
  6. Seems we usually average around 18k-19k but that a winning season gives us about a 4k or 5k increase in attendance. Winning cures all.
  7. It is difficult to beat 8 in the box when they know you can't throw downfield.
  8. Hooked by the SS McCarney. What's better than getting trolled by your own head coach.
  9. This was only the second game of the season and our first home game. The defense was still aggressive at that point.
  10. I think taking a pounding in our own stadium against an OU/UT type would just reinforce the thoughts of the few OU/UT tshirt fans that hang around our campus. We are diehards but we are the few. Getting our teeth kicked in at home would not make fringe fans want to root for our team one bit. You don't think they would point and laugh at a NT team getting beat by 5 or 6 touchdowns in its home stadium? You are right about the head turning. They would turn their head away from NT football and never look back. They would just cheer for the school the grew up cheering for because they would be embarrassed to be a NT fan.
  11. Yea, they conceal our piss-poor quarterback play for one week.
  12. I don't want to be outnumbered in our own stadium like the ponies.
  13. None of those schools have anything to gain by playing us in our stadium. They play in much larger games at Jerry World or the Cotton Bowl. They also don't want to end up like K-State and skate out of our stadium with a slim victory. You same rationale for not playing TxSt is theirs for not playing us. Tech won't play us because we beat them in Lubbock, and Baylor won't because we beat them in our place. They would only schedule us if it is a guaranteed W. I think that is the coward's way out and we should face all-comers
  14. I made it up. I was just giving you hypothetical open competition coach speak.
  15. I love the aggressiveness of our defense in the '74 game. We had great aggressiveness in our '14 game with the ponies too. I'm hoping this year will be the same. I want our players to hate SMU as much as I do.
  16. Saying something like this? "Last year's quarterback play was terrible, and so at this point we have no depth chart at the quarterback position. These guys are going to have to come and work their tails off both on the field and in the field room. Cream rises to the top and that's what we expect out of the quarterback position here at North Texas. Everyone is on an even field starting fall camp but you can be damn sure that the best man for the job will be taking that first snap on September 12 in Dallas. I don't care if I have a true freshman walk-on or a 5th year senior captain win the job, we're gonna win that football game in Dallas."
  17. That seems reason enough to me. I don't want to act like SMU in any way. I think if they want to play, we should smack them around the field for 4 quarters.
  18. Losing to a regional P5 doesn't hurt recruiting? Based on your rationale, we shouldn't even be in CUSA where we could lose to UTSA and Rice. Guess it is back to the Sun Belt for us, oh wait, SWTSU-SM is there. Mountain West anybody? Conversely, if we play and beat Tx State, it could only help our recruiting, no? I want to play Texas teams because it is exciting and gets more Texans (hello, our recruiting base) talking about us than beating a bad FCS school or getting smoked by a P5 team a thousand miles away.
