Jeff Wilson and DaMarcus Smith post Texas at San Antonio win
Cr1028 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
It is hard not to say the word man when seated next to Damarcus, man. -
Maybe but he'd get some stiff competition from Big Game Bob.
-
Maybe. I didn't trust McCarney because of the McNulty thing so I don't have a completely blind allegiance.
-
I'm curious where our captains are in leading this celebration.

Periscope in UNT locker after win over Texas SA

I cannot f'n believe those are the same players that took the field on homecoming. McCarney drove this team into the dirt and just like Dr. Frankenstein, Canales has brought it to life again. Canales is going to be a helluva head coach somewhere. It remains to be seen whether that will be here or not. -

Damarcus is a grown-ass man. I'm proud to have him here and become increasingly irritated with McCarney the more I see of Smith.- 7 replies

He was friends and played high school football with the other young man.

I'm going to trust the judgment of the guy with experience over yours.
-
It doesn't happen often, I only saw two on your list there and they were both successful (Dabo Swinney and George O'Leary).

What if the entire staff was let go and he was hired as head coach? The current staff would have to interview along with all of the other assistant coaching candidates. I doubt Chico would jeopardize his dream shot for his buddies.
-
Rodge still loves the guy too. His players, regardless of how they leave the program, all seem to like the guy.
-
If he were to get his wish and Chico was hired, I would hope that Canales would hire him as a GA or safeties coach. He and Orr were a big reason the '13 defense was so damn good.

McCarney couldn't win on the road....ever. Not at ISU and certainly not here. We haven't had an OOC road win since Todd Dodge at Ball State. Canales will have much better luck on the road than Mac would've. -

I think we beat MTSU and UTEP. We will scare LT and the other UT. -

The love child of Urban Meyer and Tom Osborne wouldn't have beaten WKU and Marshall with the dumpster fire he had to turn around. I think this team is going to surprise a lot of people over the rest of the season. Well, except you, you aren't surprised by anything because you know everything. -
HAHA!! Post of the year!
-
We'd have beaten Smug, Rice, and PSU. PSU wasn't even a game because our team didn't care. You have to throw that score out because that game was more of a middle finger to McCarney, RV, or us, I'm not sure who.

Oh believe me, I am all for fixing. McCarney was the problem. That problem is now fixed. With the Iowa boys, we were 0-5 against the spread and straight up. We didn't even beat the freaking spread once. Under Canales, we are 3-0 against the spread and 1-2 overall. This is an improved team, don't let your personal vendetta against the athletic director make you blind to the positive changes that have occurred with our team. -

God forbid we actually hire a guy that wants to be here. I hope someday we can have a successful coach that sees our school as more than just his employer. -
I'd take him back but he wouldn't take us back. I'd bet you $100 right now that Dodge would do a vastly better job this time around because he'd know what he was getting into and wouldn't waste 2 years ignoring his own defense.
-
Like 2010 when Todd Dodge had to use his 4th string walk-on converted wide receiver/quarterback? Or does that disadvantage only handicap our opponents?

Thank you tailgaters, players, coaches,

Don't forget to thank the cloud ceiling too.
