A Little Hindsight (Littrell vs. Lincoln)
Cr1028 replied to cdizzle86's topic in Mean Green Football
Mayfield only had success against scrub teams while at Tech. It was embarrassing watching him run around like a clown against Texas that year. He'd be 2nd or 3rd string if he were still there. Mahomes is much better than Mayfield ever was. Perine and Mixon will both be playing on Sundays, without a doubt. -

Mayfield is probably the most overrated college quarterback since Matt Leinart. I guess having two NFL running backs lining up behind you will do that to you. -

Fritz' 2nd Year FBS Triple Option In The GoDaddy Bowl
Cr1028 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Other than the JUCO, you still haven't shown how he won a program "historically difficult to win at". You just keep regurgitating that he made middle of the road to good teams better. Poor Georgia Southern, I guess I was dreaming that they beat the P5 Florida Gators while they were a lowly FCS team the year before Fritz took over. You overestimate the Sun Belt as I am not convinced that they are any better than the Southern Conference that GSU played In before. You are delusional if you think taking a 7-5 FCS team with a win over a SEC team to a 9-3 record overall record while playing in the undisputed worst conference in all of FBS is a better achievement than taking a 1-11 FBS team who suffered a record-setting loss to a FCS school at home and getting them to ten wins. I see now that with all the other bad that RV has done to you, he also shattered your judgment. -

Bailed him out against Ball State? He was CUSA player of the week. -
MGB: Ole Miss transfer QB Kincade confirms he is considering UNT
Cr1028 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Disagree. If you watch the spring game, you can see that Dajon was much better than anything else on the roster. He damn near beat out DT for the job as a true freshman in '13. The problem was that Mac didn't have the patience to deal with his laid-back attitude so he refused to forgive his mistakes or allow him to grow and learn from them. -
Fritz' 2nd Year FBS Triple Option In The GoDaddy Bowl
Cr1028 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Georgia Southern certainly doesn't fit this statement as they were 7-4 when Fritz took over. SHSU won under Randlemann but Whitten screwed that up and they were 5-6 when Fritz took over, and how about this gem from Central Missouri on Fritz's predecessor, From 1983-1996, Terry Noland posted a record of 78-65-2. Noland owns the school records for wins, seasons as head coach, and conference titles, and he is responsible for getting Central Missouri State on the map as one of the premier programs in the Midwest. Central Missouri was 4-7 when he took over and in 13 years he shared one conference co-championship with 4 other teams. Yes, Fritz has a better overall record than Noland but the point is that it was not "historically difficult to win at". Now if he wins at Tulane who is 3-9 and historically bad, you will have a valid point but until then, he has won at programs that have been nowhere near as bad of shape as Tulane or us. -
MGB: Ole Miss transfer QB Kincade confirms he is considering UNT
Cr1028 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Scott Hall was ranked #86 out of 112 (23rd percentile) with a QBR of 36.1 his senior year in the same rankings adman used above where DT's QBR was 55.3 and he was 80th out of 128 (37th percentile).. Don't kid yourself that Scott Hall was a great quarterback. He was a defensive back that turned out to be an average quarterback on a team with great running backs and stout defenses, no better than DT. -

Just because he is on a team in the SEC doesn't mean he would be a good player, look at Cam Feldt. -

Fritz' 2nd Year FBS Triple Option In The GoDaddy Bowl
Cr1028 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
For this ^ and reasons posted ad naseum throughout this board, I hope Fritz is an Epic failure at Tulane and Littrell is an overwhelming success. I don/t think I could stand listening to this "if we'd have hired Willie Fritz" business for the next 3 years. -
Fritz' 2nd Year FBS Triple Option In The GoDaddy Bowl
Cr1028 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Let's keep this in perspective guys. Fritz will not be holding a GoDaddy trophy because Ga Southern was coached by Dell McGee, the running backs coach while BG was coached by their DC Brian Ward. Dino Babers' offense doesn't seem to be effective without Dino Babers calling the plays. Keep in mind the last game Fritz ever coached at Georgia Southern, Southern suffered their worst home loss in program history to in-state rival Georgia State. -
Kamikaze style.

It was quite an achievement of design and engineering, but it was always the plan for the Braves to move into Centennial Olympic Stadium after the 1996 Summer Games.

Agree.

Plus, baseball money is long money. 30 is an old man in football. Some baseball players don't even get cranked up until 30.
