Here is that last true freshman qb we had worth a dang. He took such a pounding that he gave up football. Well that and he enjoyed his recreation time.

^What he said^ See Riley Dodge.

Published: January 17, 2013 Shanbour had a scholarship offer from Colorado, but that situation changed when coach Jon Embree was let go. Northwestern (La.) State offered him, and programs like East Carolina, Indiana and multiple Ivy League schools were showing interest. Under Littrell’s guidance in 2013, Indiana set single-season records with 6,102 total yards, 508.5 yards per game, 461 points, 38.4 points per game, 36 passing touchdowns, 62 total touchdowns and 300 first downs. I think our #2 to Morris has been in Denton awhile now. Smith was obviously vastly overrated. Talent can only take you so far and he didn't feel like he needed to work. It is best for all parties that he is gone. I'm looking forward to seeing what Shanbour can do in Littrell's offense.

MGB: UNT's options dwindle as Smith departs
Cr1028 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Love it. -
Seems more like a correction than a clarification to me. Kicked off the team is not an unclear statement in need of clarification. Somebody get the KNTU staff a dictionary, please.

Ask 2010 Todd Dodge.

Better chance of him ending up in the Alamo City playing for the roadbirds with Frank Wilson.

Let's update our descriptions a bit. He is not a 4 star dual-threat qb any more. He is a qb who ranked 119th out of 124 qualified qbs in passing efficiency, just 4 spots above 123rd ranked Andrew McNulty who I don't believe had a star to his name. Smith's QBR was 119th out of 128. His completion percentage was 121st out of 124 which is actually 3 spots below the aforementioned McNulty who was ranked 118th. Even with that big bomb against WKU that you guys ooh and aah about, his 4.8 yards per pass attempt were ranked 123rd out of 124 with Iowa's favorite son coming in at 122nd. Smith's star has burnt out. He needs to graduate, find his career, and start his post-football life.

or do you mean the Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer is coming in as a walk-on qb?

MGB: How UNT will fill its biggest hole on offense
Cr1028 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
That's good. Finally. Tweeder you take the snaps. -
Both Rick Villarreal and Tony Benford should be fired

That'd make me pretty damn happy. -

If you can't complete 50% of your passes in an offense designed to help hide a certain qb from Iowa's lack of ability, how in hades are you going to perform better in a pass-heavy offense that doesn't rely exclusively on the short, safe pass game? -

I'd gladly take "one of the worst coaches in the country" back. -

All true. Logic would also dictate that you give up your club seats rather than just telling others to do so. -
lol, nice.

Thanks, he slipped my mind.

MGB: UNT confirms departure of Wallace, McNair

Source? I want to share with an aggie coworker.

Do we have anyone on the roster that would even have a chance as a UFA? I know one might have the talent to get a camp invite but not the attitude.

That's not all. I will always remember that game fondly because it was the first time in my Mean Green fandom that I felt we actually stood toe-to-toe with a legitimate P5 opponent and didn't get manhandled. We looked like we belonged for the first time, like a real FBS football team. We held top 10 NFL draft pick Todd Gurley to his lowest YPC of the entire regular season, better than Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Plus, Brelan.

Thanks for putting this together. FYI, we were GWG for the '13 Georgia game. GMG.

I think some consideration should be given to the level of opponent we played and if the game was home or away in each variation of uniform. For instance, we are usually wearing white when we get our heads kicked in for bodybag games. White jerseys are not cursed and are not the cause of a poor outcome. The poor outcome was caused by a coach who could not win on the road anywhere he has coached. The white jerseys were just unfortunate to be the road jersey most of the time.
