  1. I wonder if anyone will take a chance on him like Petrino. It is clear that excluding the off the field stuff, he may the best on-field football coach in college football.
  2. While I'm sure, I'm going to get pummeled for defending @UNT90 here, I think allowing a defensive coordinator, both while he is employed with the team and then after in a non-profit role, maintaining an on-campus office, to use both football facilities and football perks (i.e. game tickets) to sodomize young boys in the football showers is vastly different from players being both accused and in two cases convicted of rape committed away from athletic facilities. Rape is bad, we all agree on that but let us not compare a maniac's preying upon underage and underprivileged boys. No Baylor assistants walked in on any Baylor player raping an underage person in the football showers and then had their superiors cover it up. The only connection is that they both involve college football and rape but the nuts and bolts of the situations couldn't be more different.
  3. Good deal. I'm happy to see you'll be out at the games.
  4. Serious question, didn't you already sell your club seats for this coming season? Will you be purchasing a separate set since you got rid of RV? I'm curious how you will attend games if you've already given up your tix.
  5. Wow, that is very well said. I truly like your response. Another question, are the teams becoming more competitive by taking on these players or does their being competitive bring more scrutiny and light to issues that may have already existed.
  6. I believe you all may have misunderstood my point. I'm am not diminishing the severity of rape, I have a problem with the scope of the article. The article was written specifically about the football program. The problem is way, WAY, bigger than just the football program. Firing Art Briles doesn't make the debate team and tennis team stop committing sexual assault. This is a Baylor problem, not a football problem.
  7. Maybe it was a two-fer with his little brother or Trey Holtz talked him into it.
  8. I do remember a picture of 3 men holding presentation checks amounting to $3.25M at halftime of the game Mac was fired after. Irony?
  9. Nice try @Brett Vito. Again with the size jabs. Did you forget to mention that Trevor Moore isn't your typical kicker? We aren't talking about Trent Deans here. Don't forget to mention that Moore and Shanbour are the same size as Jeffrey Wilson and are both bigger than Kenny Buyers. Trevor Moore
  10. I agree that they should've gotten this right but . Here is the video.
  11. Don't we have to raise enough money to fund some women's sports too? I thought in addition to the funding, Title IX was standing in our way. Is that no longer the case?
  12. How about? Rickford "Jimmy John's filled me to the" Brimley I'll give your athletic program DIABEETUS.
  13. I'll probably catch grief for this but is he good enough to take the starting spot from Wilson. Wilson is a really stinkin good back. Ross wants to be a full-time starter and I'm not sure we can offer that to him. I like the return thing but he is already the starting kick returner at OU within striking distance of their all-time return yardage record. He won't be going anywhere to be a return guy and part-time running back.
  14. I hope like heck we get him but I'd guess Tech based on what I've seen.
  15. Since they were atrocious last year, it is a very real possibility.
  16. Could you translate that? It looks to me like he is say that if he isn't able to do something this semester during spring ball something is wrong. I don't see the part where he says, I graduated and am giving up my football career.
  17. Do you have a quote from Sir Calvin Wallace anywhere that he was giving up football? No, you don't, you just think Vito saying "decided not to return for his final year of eligibility" equates to giving up football. Whether Dajon is playing football or not, the man is in college bettering himself. He never said anything bad about this program. He is a father and is going to make the most of his future. I never saw where he skipped film room, weight room, or didn't study the playbook. I do recall him coming into fall camp in 2014 without having thrown over the summer break so he had shoulder fatigue. So yea, he didn't do his not-so-"voluntary" workouts. That and the birth of his child are why he didn't suit up for the '14 UT game. It kind of amazes me that he was so opposed to putting in the work since he very nearly beat out Heart of Dallas Bowl MVP Derek Thompson for the starting job in 2013 as a true freshman.
  18. Love, love, love, this gif
  19. How do you know he wasn't up front about it to Littrell and the other coaches? How do you know he didn't decide to leave when KP left? Were you this upset when Eli Howard up and left to be a walk-on at Tech rather than a scholarship player with us. He didn't exactly come forward, we just found out he was gone. Dajon is at Commerce, I don't know if he is playing football but he is/was at Commerce because he had a photo of himself with a backpack on in front of a building with the TAMU-Commerce Lion logo last week. Maybe he stayed on campus to be a regular student for a semester and get his degree. Maybe he knew he wanted to play again, maybe he didn't. He never said either publicly so we just don't know. You are just making assumptions on his behalf.
  20. Because received a medical redshirt last season and is set to graduate in May, he will immediately be eligible at the school of his choice, which could be Miami, Mississippi State, or Louisiana Tech, according to Justin Wells of Inside Texas, who broke the news and has deep connections in East Texas.
  21. And you found this quote where? And since you are so well informed, did DaMarcus Smith give up football to pursue life after it? You know in case later on we find out he'd done a great job selling us on the notion that he was moving on with his football life. And what about Darrien McNair, nobody ever said he was looking to play elsewhere, just that he went home to Florida. Please educate the masses. P.S. I'm sorry that Sir Calvin stole your backpack.
  22. Yes, but if you re-read his post below, he is referring to the buyout itself. We all know that the extension was a bad move and the hiring turned out to be a failure overall but his point was, that getting McCarney out with the buyout was a better move than waiting out his contract (like Benford, ugh).
