Going from giving up 369ypg to giving up 502ypg is by no means a continuation of that trend is an anomaly and the overwhelming contributor was Chris Cosh. Spin it like you want, but Cosh was as bad or worse than Ron Mendoza making him the worst DC in NT history.

Chico should get blame sure, but he wasn't the major cause of the massive dropoff from '14 to '15. His offense was just as bad in '15 as it was in '14. Cosh was the major difference from '14 to '15. Total Offense 2014: ranked 114th. Total Offense 2015: ranked 117th.

We barely took the field last year against PSU. That was a protest game where the team acted as though they were at a funeral (they were, a funeral for Mac's coaching career). I can't think of one position where we aren't as good or better than last year. We will have a tremendously better offensive philosophy and the biggest reason, THE BIGGEST REASON we aren't going to get smoked by another FCS school this year.........

I don't see any other way to read it except that we will have 68 players on scholarship September 1. Even if you add the 6, we are still only at 74 (11 below the standard).

Maybe that is so we can pay the little sisters of the poor to come in so we can get Benford to 10 wins. His only season without a losing record '13-'14 included a win over Texas A&M. I don't recall JJ whining about guarantee games because he was pretty good about beating them. He beat LSU and Tech in the same year once, I know he beat Oklahoma State at one point and I'm sure there were others.

A strong case could be made that the 2010 roster Dodge left for McCarney was much stronger than the 2015 roster McCarney left for Littrell. I guess we will see in September when we know how many starters are new to the program and how many came from Littrell's recruits and transfers. Every starter for McCarney's first game but 3 was either on the 2-deep for the first or last game of the 2010 season. The 3 being Cyril Lemon(true freshman), Andrew Power(juco), and Ryan Boutwell(redshirt freshman who saw time in 3 games as a true freshman but was never on the 2-deep). We already know the starting quarterback won't be from last year's 2-deep. How many other position will be the same?

This isn't complicated. You have to ask the question, "Would any of the athletics departments at the other 128 schools with a FBS football program hire Hank as Athletic Director?". If the answer is no, that should be the end of the discussion.

This may have been a statement that he hasn't been a head coach yet and hasn't proven himself better than anyone else until his team takes the field.
