  1. or number 5 Vito be like....
  2. I was at the LSU game at Champions sports bar with you. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to watch any home games with you guys this go around because fortunately I was blessed with season tickets again this year. I will try to catch some of the away games with you though. Oh, I'm in Buda.
  3. Great point. I didn't realize so few football programs were profitable. Thanks.
  4. Yes. Sometimes I go into a hole and don't realize what has happened until it is too late. Oh well. Wren will fix it.....I hope. Maybe he will make us the 2nd public FBS institution in Texas to make baseball profitable behind only the Longhorns.
  5. So with baseball we'd just add another $1 million deficit to the AD budget? In the name of "getting our brand out there"? If FBS football and making the NCAA tourney doesn't get your name out there, being a middle of the road CUSA baseball team certainly isn't.
  6. Maybe we can jump to the AAC instead of adding baseball. SMU and Tulsa don't have baseball. Until it is in place and then the complaining starts that the AD can't get people to show up to watch baseball.
  7. Nobody cares about college baseball. Rice isn't out there killing it in the athletics world because their baseball program is good. Their football and basketball teams are still only marginally better than ours. Does UTEP get a pass or will they have to start up the Title IX machine too to crank out more expenses to their athletics program?
  8. In the big-money world of college sports, baseball finishes last on the bottom line.
  9. I'm curious why we need a baseball program so bad. Is it only because we don't have one? Is it the majestic sounds of college baseball? Ping, ping. Is it to have sporting events on campus that are even more poorly attended than the sports we have now? I can't think of one person I've met in my entire life that talked about the quality of the baseball program at their alma mater. Basketball? Yes. Football? Absolutely! Baseball? Never. The Aggies and Red Raiders were both in the top 5 in baseball this year. I work with diehard fans of both schools, not a peep about baseball. Please explain this to me. It seems like a tremendous waste of resources when the Rangers are down the street and use real bats. We need to focus on the big 3 (football, MBB, WBB). We are spreading ourselves too thin.
  10. I was a freshman in '99. I was shocked to hear in the halls that we had beaten Tech because I didn't even know we were playing Tech. I remember going to that Baylor game in Waco and parking a couple hundred yards behind Floyd Casey Stadium. Walking up and sitting down in an all but empty visitors section. I remember thinking that Attaway and Bridges were terrible and that Wilburn was pretty good. I watched some highlights that year and thought McGrew was awesome but he didn't do anything in that Baylor game. That was the only game I went to until 2005 when I really began following the team. I only went to the Baylor game because my girlfriend's dad lived in Waco and my high school teammate was a freshman on Baylor's team. The difference in school spirit between 1999 and 2005 was staggering to me.
  11. I have '05 so I know we did it at least though then.
  12. Wow. well done/ You called it.
  13. I'm down. What are the metrics by which we will consider it improved? Ranking? Yards per game? Points per game (must exclude pick 6s)? Forced turnovers? After we know what we are betting on, we will come to terms on the wager.
  14. Well Skladany didn't seem to have a problem and I'd bet money that Ekeler won't have one either.
  15. We've been over this. Chris Cosh was coaching K-State's defense that day, which explains our points explosion. We aren't talking about Kenny Chesney's hometown or The Lone Survivor here. We are talking about Seth Littrell. Also dude, you aren't going to beat a good P5 program at home in year one, that just ridiculous. A loss over a P5 at home does nothing to advance your program, it does reinforce the stigma that we are a bottom rung football team. Beating a regional team(from an alleged better G5 conference) at home who we ACTIVELY compete against for recruits on a DAILY basis helps our program SUBSTANTIALLY!!
  16. Must've done wonders for their program. I hear they are on the big12 short list. Oh wait, no, they are still struggling in the Sun Belt.
  17. Vandy, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Stanford, and Baylor x2. TCU played these teams OOC between '02 and '11 before they became a P5 themself in '12. 6 games in 12 years wasn't the difference. TCU was getting ranked in the polls way back in '00. Winning period advances the program. Winning against P5s helps more, but when you beat P5s, they don't want to play you anymore. See Texas Tech and Baylor. They prefer to beat up on SMUt now.
  18. You may not want to believe this but UH got more fans to show up and watch them play SWTSU-SM than P5 Vandy last year. Nearly 6,000 more.
  19. Unfortunately for us, Chris Cosh no longer coaches defense for K-State. He is on to killing Richmond's defense now.
  20. So you think these powerful P5 schools will come play in our stadium out of the kindness of their heart? or because our really great AD convinced them that the lack of benefit to their program is less important to them than filling our stadium for us?
  21. This is all I see on their board. Keep tellin yourself that bud.
  22. Like who? K-State? So we can get throttled in our own stadium(don't bring up PortSU, Littrell would never let that crap happen)? K-State and the like coming into our stadium does more to advance their recruiting than it does ours. The recognizable P5 programs either already have games in the metroplex or would require the game to be played at Jerryworld. It is like you live in an alternate reality that even the good RV did was bad. The SMU series was the best series he could've scheduled.
