  1. Oh yea, the second game, why would we play them twice? Because we were playing for a conference title which is something that Eric Morris will never get to do here. What is irrational and sad is making excuses for a coach playing almost all of the same teams and having similar or worse results. I don’t know how long you have been around but mediocre Seth was light years more enjoyable than what we had for most if the years prior to his arrival. He is 4th all time in wins, 2nd in conference wins, and 6th all time in win percentage. If you take out the pre-WW2 guys, he is 3rd all time in win percentage behind only Hayden Fry and Odus Mitchell. Pretty good company if you ask me.
  2. 2019 4-8 (3-5 CUSA) 2020 4-6 (3-4 CUSA) 2021 6-7 (5-3 CUSA) 2022 7-6 or 7-7 if you want to include the bowl (6-2 CUSA) Improvement every year after 2019 just like I said. When Harrell and some of our better assistants left for P5 it caused a massive falloff in 2019 but that didn’t continue. Littrell began to build this thing back slowly brick by brick, just wasn’t as fast as we would have liked. Morris is tearing it down in year 1. I won’t exercise the patience for Morris I had for Littrell in year 5-7 or year 1 because Littrell took a 1-11 team to 5-7 in year 1. In years 5-7 he improved the team’s win/loss total by a single game every year. Morris has taken a 7-6/7-7 team to a 3-7 record. I can’t see us winning both remaining games which means the best Morris’ team could finish is 4-8, the absolutely worst season Seth Littrell had in 7 years. Forget that. This guy was hired to make us better, not worse, and he plain and simple is not getting it done. Dodge, McCarney, and Littrell all took over complete disasterss. Morris is the first coach in decades that got to take over a respectable North Texas football team and he is blowing it.
  3. I’m saying that Littrell’s team could’ve beaten FIU with or without Rogers. Someone was making the case that if Littrell is still here then we are worse off because Rogers doesn’t come and I said that wouldn’t matter.
  4. The offense Bloesch and Littrell ran didn’t require a Chandler Rogers. It made fantastic use of our outstanding running backs, offensive line, and tight ends.
  5. Check the records every year from the disastrous 2019 season until last year and you will see that they were absolutely on an upward trend, just not quickly enough for the pitchfork crowd.
  6. It’s worse because Morris is more air raid than Littrell was. Littrell recognized its limitations and began moving to the Briles offensive style.
  7. Why would you expect differently against FIU? We beat them 52-14 last season and 49-7 the year before that.
  8. I don’t think Rogers comes to UNT if Seth is still here. It would’ve been either Earle, Head, a new transfer, or they would’ve tried to talk Aune into his last season of eligibility.
  9. I would bet my house that Seth Littrell’s team at the very least beats FIU this year which Morris could not do.
  10. Are you serious? Of course he does. He found a way, sometimes by luck or circumstance, to have us in a bowl every single season he was here except for one. He had us in two conference title games. Yes we lost all the bowl and title games but at least we had a seat at the table under Littrell. And Littrell inherited an absolute shitshow from Mac. Morris inherited, at worst, a middle of the road team. As for Morris.
  11. Haha nah, they need someone to knock SMU out of that 3-way tie for first.
  12. Ah, I got ya.
  13. I am not convinced this coaching staff could beat Charlotte and ECU.
  14. While it is probably a more difficult conference slate, it is only by a slight margin. Tulane and SMU are really the only schools that are a step up in competition and we were already used to playing SMU annually. Last season we beat the #5 team and one of the #6 teams on this list. We also lost on a last minute highlight reel drive against one of the teams tied for first. I disagree strongly with the premise that we have suddenly been dropped into a world beater conference because we haven't.
  15. Especially since last season we were the conference runnerup and played in the conference title game.
  16. Frankly, I hope UH wins and sells the crap out these jerseys for no other reason than a big middle finger to the Adams family and the Nashville Titans.
  17. I don’t understand though, you can trademark the name of a city now? The University of Houston putting Houston on the front of the jersey is no different than Rice putting Rice or us putting North Texas. My recollection is that the Oilers never had the word Houston anywhere on their uniforms.
  18. Maybe because they aren’t even close to as good as UH’s. The Rice ones you can’t even tell are related to the old Oilers. They could be just as much UNC or Tulane tributes.
  19. I hope you are doing well and have many more seasons with us here on GMG.
  20. You make me want to call up Will Smith. This is worse than any haunted house I’ve ever been to.
  21. Littrell fired both Reeder and Bowen after only one year. He even fired his original DC (although I didn’t agree with that move as much as the Reeder and Bowen firings). He wasn’t given much rebuild time after firing Bowen and bringing in Bennett.
  22. Thank you for the info.
  23. Don’t know the answers to all of these but I know the DC was Justin Deason who is now an assistant at New Braunfels Canyon HS. He must’ve had some success because he won a D2 title at TAMU-C with Carthel. https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2023/02/27/five-possible-candidates-to-be-the-next-dc-at-sfa?ref=article_preview_title
  24. Morris was hired 3 days before GJ Kinne coached his last game at UIW. Kinne’s Texas State team is bowl eligible for the first time in 9 years with 3 games left to play. Morris, on the other hand, is on the cusp of having us miss a bowl game for just the 2nd time in the last 8 years. Texas State went from 4-8 to now 6-3. We went from 7-6 to 3-6.
  25. I’ve heard he is really good at slowing G5 offenses.
