Please. "Aetna or BlueCross/BlueShield, Kaiser, what have you," cannot compete with U.S. government. This is socialized medicine on a small scale with the ultimate goal of the government taking over completely healthcare in America. This is nothing new and this is how EVERY massive social program starts.... small->big

give it a week....

I don't even care about this potential loss... I'm too happy about the stadium vote... nothing can ruin this mood. I'm actually laughing tonight at all of our mishaps on the field.
-
I think you mean sunbeltsports.org ... I bought that one too. The picture is very good with only very short pauses... much better than the meangreensports feed, at least when compared to when I use to subscribe a year ago.

We can't break any records 'cause damn server shuts down on heavy traffic!
-
Hell Yes!!! Wha HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Keep in mind Vito said 6:00pm would be the official word. I don't where the 5:50 came from.
-
Hehe... speaking from experience? Funny stuff..... let the pissing begin!
-
I think I'll actually piss myself if the stadium issue passes and we win against ULM tonight.

Meangreensports says that it is available via video through Mean Green Premium for $9.99. The $9.99 is a monthly fee that gives you access to all Mean Green broadcasted sports, not just football. You can always cancel before the month is up to just watch this game.

MTSU up 17-14 a few minutes into the 3Q.
-
MTSU jumps out quickly to a 14-0 lead! Let's see if they can maintain it.
-
Just a reminder, and for those that want to pass the time until stadium vote comes out, the MTSU/Louisville game starts now on ESPN360.com

I went to the game last night. Our defense won this for us. I also noticed a discernible speed difference between our girls and their. We were simply the faster, most stilled team on the field. Nice!

Maybe With As Many Votes They Recieved
chrisfisher replied to FanofUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Will you please stop bringing reason to the situation? I am trying to work myself up into a frenzy -
Yes, I have. I've watched a basketball game or two a year ago. I cannot remember for the life of me how the quality was. I believe that SBC uses the same crappy video company as meangreensports.com so I am doubtful it will be great - but it could be better than nothing. One word of warning - the internet feed is often 30 seconds behind so if you listen to radio show too, it will not match up with what you are watching.

No problem. I like the name Fish. It is just that only like 4 or 5 people even call me that so I thought maybe I knew you... no worries... I am actually a current doctoral student in the program. I got a late start...I'm 39 now.

Maybe With As Many Votes They Recieved

Maybe the SGA is meeting to figure out how to overrule a negative result? I read somewhere that they have that authority. I don't know if true. -
MTSU/Louisville and FIU/Troy are on ESPN360. As I posted in another thread, UNT/Monroe will be on SBC Extra (internet broadcast) at sunbeltsports.org for $7.95.
-
Only a handful of people call me Fish - not that I mind either. Do we know each other?
-
I haven't looked around yet, but I know for sure that the SBC is offering it for $7.95 on the internet. There website is here.

I've got a very bad feeling too. I am in a UNT doctoral psychology program, and, no one, and I mean no one, accept me is into UNT athletics. I decided it was better to avoid trying to get people to vote because it might actually raise awareness of the issue and result in more "no" votes....besides, doctoral students are usually clueless to the outside world.... Well, Friday morning I was in the psychology clinic and and found out a female student was trying to talk anyone who would listen into voting "no," which many did. I was so pissed. She was passionate and I figured that she did her research on why she voted no. I quickly learned after I challenged her on a few facts that she didn't know anything at all about the issue. She simply didn't want to pay more tuition. When I told her she would be long gone when the fee kicked in, she had this bamboozled look on her face. I actually strong armed several of my friends in psychology to vote later in day. In hindsight, maybe it was a mistake not to raise awareness in our apathetic department. On the other hand, my campaigning could have only increased the "no" vote too. One final thought: given that our team has won 2 games in 2 years, it is apparent that UNT leaders were basically asking students to buy into a vision or idea for future of UNT. In reality, our current football record should be irrelevant if people understand what is at stake. Nonetheless, school leaders may have done a very poor job of painting a dynamic picture of the future for students. I believe that the stadium referendum required transformational leadership. Unfortunately, I suspect that most in the administration are transactional leaders. Sorry this is rambling. I needed to say my peace with this.... I am not looking forward to today's voting results.

I think that we are having more of an honest conversation now. I do not agree with you, but I respect your beliefs. If you want a taste of liberal policies and what to expect, you have to look no further this history itself. I am no historian and do no claim to have anything close to a complete working knowledge of history. However, take a look at the 1970's. This time period isn't exactly considered era of economic prosperity; yet, the dems will squarely in control and implemented a variety of their policies. During this time, the top tax bracket was an unbelievable 70 or 80%. Reagan came in and cut that to around 30% (can't recall exactly). And you know what happened? Tax revenues increased... a ton.... history has shown that when you raise taxes unfairly, and believe me, 40-50% of anyone's (wealthy or not) income is unfair, people just stop reporting income or "find" new business deductions. They will even make large business purchases at the end of year to offset income. Businesses would rather give their money away to anyone but the government... even if it is wasteful or questionable spending. Believe me. I know. I was an independent businessman in San Antonio for over a decade. My guess is that the policies that Obama wants to implement, including raising taxes, socialized medicine, etc. will decrease actual tax revenues and have a devastating impact on the current fragile economy.

I don't think this was posted before... sorry if it was. "Forward Amber Jackson and guard Brittney James were named Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference, and the North Texas women’s basketball team was picked to finish third in the West Division. The teams were announced at the league's annual media days." Jackson was first team, while James was second team. Full story is here. I am actually pretty excited about women's basketball this season. New coaches, new players.... should be fun. I know I hope to make several home games, especially the double headers.

Glad to see a former senior leader with NCAA tournament experience will be hanging around our team. Q is definitely one of the good guys.
