No surprise to me.... the good players always have a great game following a lousy one... I think Johnson could end being a great one for us... time will tell.

McCoy doesn't seem to take advantage of his opportunities... he finally gets the start, and picks up 3 quick fouls... aside from his 1 "perfect game" he seems to have some bad luck when opportunities come his way... we know he is a superior athlete but he just cant seem to put it together on the floor.... I hope that this changes this game.

Just keep this thread going.. No problem....... BTW, McCoy the the start... everyone, including me, thought he should.... hopefully he'll produce.

I'm surprised at everyone's ho-hum reaction to this signing. I remember comments of people saying it would a great signing if we could nab one the "magnificent 7." I think if JJ signed a Texas Top 25 player, members would complain we are not signing Top 10. JJ has really up'd the recruit quality over the years.

I was shocked too to see that 70% stat. I wasn't shocked to see extremely poor shooting from our guards.

True, some defensive stops definitely would have helped. But I think you nailed it in your final point that 33% won't cut it. Had we shot to our ability, it would have been a much better game. Don't get me wrong, there was no moral victory here. OSU beat us tonight. But I think this young team can do very well this season... we'll see.

This game was definitely in reach... easily. If we even have 1 guard who gets hot, it is a different game. We only had 11 turnovers and completely out-rebounded OSU. The shooting % is a situational thing... our guards normally light it up. We have a bright future ahead in this season.

Ya but our fowards hit about 50% of their shots from the field, while our guards were sucking.

Ya, weird isn't... 35/70 is 70%. I though it worse too. Bottom line is we short poorly from 2's and 3's.

We did miss a bunch, but I think our FT% ended up at 70%. Not fantastic, but not great. The bottom line is our guards shot poorly (2's and 3's), and our post-men didn't produce.

The OSU announcers were very pleasant to listen too... not biased though subtly rooting for OSU... much like our Mean Green announcers

I'm proud of this young team... playing in hostile environment against a Big 12 team they showed not one ounce of quit... had our 3's fallen like they normally do or we shot free throws at a percentage that we did last year this game would have gone down to the wire....

I'm really surprised that the free throw shooting has regressed.... I thought Jones solved that... Had we made our free throws, this would be tied game or extremely close..

The OSU announcers just said their coach knows UNT doesn't handle the full court and half court press very well and OSU plans to press all game... should be interesting. I hope we can break the press early and score quickly to force them out of this.
