I hear you. I miss maybe 2 game or 3 games a year for football and basketball combined. I don't have a choice on this one. My wife is the coolest chick on the planet and never complains that I watch sports on TV or go to games all of the time... NEVER complains. She really wants me at her company party.. it is a big deal for her...

I want to give this announcement its own thread so that it is not missed. I am thrilled to tell you that this game will be on ESPN360 (free) and the pay-per-view service Full Court. I have to miss this game so this is great b/c I now watch a rerun of the game. This game should be a true battle. Don't miss this one!

I just found out... or actually, my wife just reminded me, that she has her company X-mas party this Saturday that is mandatory for me to attend... I've been looking forward to this game all season.... bummer!! dang!!!

I agree. I am worried about this team now. We show flashes of brilliance, but periods of being extremely lackadaisical. I am most worried about Josh at this point. He picked up the pace in this last game when the press was on, but he is still prone to turnovers. The biggest problem I see right now is that Josh and Dominique are two of our most accurate shooting and highest scoring guards, and apparently trying more now to become true “assist” oriented guards… however, our other guards are wildly inconsistent so our scoring is down. I would like to see Dominique take over the PG position and have Josh enter the guard rotation so he can return to his focus on scoring. I know I will take some heat for this suggestion from other members, but I think this would be best scenario at this point. I also think Tramiel deserves much more playing time.

This is going to be a fantastic battle of a game.... NMSU has revenge on their mind after our 21 point come back last year and UNT is a relentless defender of the home court. For what it is worth, Sagarin has both teams basically ranked equal, but with the home court advantage has us favored by 4.

Eric Tramiel deserves more minutes. He is extremely polished and looks like a top notch D1 player..... he is consistently putting up big numbers despite smaller minutes.. check out his numbers for the season on only 18 minutes a game: 8.4 points shooting 70% from the field, 40% for 3's with 5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. His biggest problem... free throws. Shooting horrible at the line. However, at Paris JC I seem to recall he was a 70-80% free throw shooter so hopefully his percentages will increase after he settles in. I can't help but wonder if Eric could play a guard position with his athleticism given our wildly inconsistent guard play? How about 6'7" guard? Kedric Hogans is also getting visibly better each game and his continues to shoot the ball at a very high percentage. I love Hogan's defense most of all.

Student section was packed. Where the hell are the men's basketball season ticket holders? Too busy bitching about our lousy football team in the football forum?

The refs really stunk it up toward the end of the game with 3 really bad calls... 1 of them was a back court violation... only problem was we never made it across half court... Maybe someone else had a better vantage point (I was sitting right behind the basket, first row) who can verify.... I am pretty sure I am right on... JJ is normally never in refs face.... but JJ immediately went after him.... then during the next time out JJ started up again with the same ref and even had with his finger in the refs chest with some verbal jousting... I thought he might even get a technical.... the other two calls... one with a phantom call under the bucket, and one out of bounds call the clearly went off of Sam Houston (I was about 10 feet from the play) and they nevertheless gave Sam Houston the ball... all 3 of these calls occurred within a few minutes of each other and toward the end of the game....

He was suited tonight. And shot baskets during warm ups.

USA also beat Southern Miss 76-73. Looks like traditional SBC powers WKU and USA are picking it up a bit after a slow start.

Favored or not, what makes these nice string of wins so impressive to me, is that 3 games ago I watched WKU get completely dominated by Murray State.... Murray State. I thought for sure they would have an down season... they looked horrible. Then next week they beat #3 Louisville and now Georgia. Very impressive wins given that I wrote WKU off.

I really wanted to go, but I have to pay for games out of pocket until January because I am not registered for classes in the fall. With men's game this Wed, Sat, and Mon I cannot afford to go to the women's gam..... kinda disappointed because I really wanted to go.... I'm sure I'll get to catch them on a double header though later this season.

As a percentage of the American population, these folks are of a minuscule size. They just appear bigger than they are when the news isolates them. Nonetheless, I think these hate groups who attack our U.S. citizens should be treated as domestic terrorists because that's what they are. They should be disbanded mmediately and sent to prison forever.

Just the week before this win, they had a super ugly 30 point loss to Murray State. I actually watched it on TV. I thought they were done for the season. Apparently not. I hope we can bounce back in a similar fashion.

To tell you the truth, I like Johnson at the point... he seems much faster and breaks the full court press with ease. White looks timid and uncomfortable with a press. I wish Johnson could be our PG and White at the 2. However, we'd have that really short line up I am not fond of at all. I don't mean to make this sound like this is anything against White because it isn't. I am just not sure what to do about PG position.

Just goes to show what can happen if you get the so-called heavy hitters into your home stadium. Congrats WKU!

When I watched WKU take a 30 point shellacking from Murray State, I thought that they were through for the season. Apparently not so...must have been just a bad night.... In light of our 30 point loss to Houston, maybe there is still hope for us too!!

The only disagreement I have with your analysis is that Johnson is not a potent offensive scorer; quite the contrary, he is normally one of our best shooting guards on the team. Check the stats. Johnson like our other guards had a terrible shooting game against Houston.

That was absolutely pathetic.

You'd think we were playing Duke or something.

Damn. This game is over. We cannot make a shot nor stop theirs.
