  1. Triston starting to light it up! 12-8 UNO.
  2. Ya, same here. I think they will probably get it going since it is listed in the program... probably just a feed problem.
  3. I can handle the scoring update duties for you until you get back..
  4. If Triston Thompson can stay hot, I feel like we can win any game in the belt. We have very balanced contributions from a variety of players game in and game out, both from the bench and starters. All we need is one guard, presumably Triston, to put up big numbers with the other players making their contributions, however small, and we will win.
  5. That play plus some questionable call playing that ranged from too conservative to kinda wild did Troy in. Disappointing too. This was a very winnable game.
  6. What is to become of this country? I very worried about our future. We are spending ourselves into the crapper and mediocrity. We cannot possibly pay for all of these obligations.
  7. It is my hands-down favorite beer - light or otherwise.
  8. To summarize then, we have 5 scholarships, 2 of which are definitely taken by new signees and the 3rd is probably taken by Cameron Spencer. That leaves 2 scholarships, and we currently have 3 known offers out. This looks to be a very strong signing class. I am eager to learn who the newest members of the Mean Green will be.
  9. Recruiting is not my forte, but I checked Rivals and UNT is on his interested list, but it does not show an offer from us (or anyone else).
  10. My daughter and I decided to go last minute. You couldn't miss us because we were the only Pit Crew in the Pit Crew section. The UNO girls were a lot of fun. We got under the skin pretty quick. We kept it very clean and very friendly. The coach and trainers kept telling the 2 girls on the end to stop talking to us, but they couldn't stop talking back to us. During the 2nd half, the UNO girls really lightened up and were throwing jokes back and forth with us. These girls even got into exchanges with the band and cheerleaders.... all and all a good time. Too bad the Mean Green lost this one... What is it with free throws this week??? Had the girls made their free throw shots, it would have been much more of a game.
  11. I spoke with Vito. He said it was his understanding that when Rich graduated we earned back our scholy. He said to take the number of seniors graduating this year plus 1 for our total scholarships available. If true, then it appears we actually have 5 scholarships for this year.... not bad! Especially, since the cupboard is not bare and will only be enhanced by more top talent.
  12. Am I missing something? Willis, Smith, and Brister make 3 offers. Rivals shows a UNT offer for each player.
  13. 3 offers out with probably only 1 scholarship. How does that work if all 3 turned out to accept?
  14. The football team needs to find their own recruits.... stay away from the men's basketball team - we've got a good thing going and don't need the football team to screw this up too
  15. The ASU vs. UALR is listed on ESPN as a ESPN360 game, but when you check ESPN360 is it not listed. Also Stephen F. Austin plays Arkansas on ESPN360. I am kind of interested in this game since we play Arkansas very soon.... but I'll probably be watching the Cowboys tonight instead.... If SFA can even hang with Arkansas then I like our chances for a win.
  16. I'd bet the family farm, if I owned one, that he will get a scholarship.
  17. We have assumed he will get one. I seriously doubt that Spencer would have left SMU without the prospect of a scholarship. Also, that dude is big. Only 6'8" but he packs a punch. I hope that he will provide some serious post defense... at 278LB, few can move him out of the way.
  18. I think that we have 4 ships to offer for 2009? I seem to recall that we lost 1 scholarship due to the APR. Could we get one back for 2009? Below is a summary of known players we will lose/gain for 2009: Gain Cameron Spencer Jacob Holmen Shannon Shorter Lose Harold Stewart Adam McCoy Justin Howerton Collin Dennis We should have at least 1 ship left to offer. 2 if we gain 1 from the APR. Also, we kind of "reactivate" 1 scholarship so to speak with the recent return of Mangrum... that's good news. Forgot about this one as pointed out by CBL in his Santa JJ thread: Marcus Brister - 6'3" 215lb point guard at Weatherford College. We have an offer to Brister. If we sign him, this could be it for 2009 unless we get one ship back from the APR.
  19. Something like 11 or 12 of the 15 blocks were all in the first half. We seemed to adjust to the size better in the 2nd half.
  20. I have no doubt that somehow all your players will have miraculously healed by 12/31/08 when we play, and that it will be one heck of game.
  21. ULL's size posed a real problem for us in the first half. However, the Mean Green seemed to really adjust to the size differential in the second half. What was apparent, and something Hank also noted, was that ULL could not deal with the speed on this team... that is what won the game for us. Also, like others, I am not super thrilled with a small front court duo in White/Johnson, but we just played one of the largest teams in the league and beat them handily with it. Perhaps the speed that White and especially Johnson bring makes up for some of the height.
