  1. Ya, I here ya. If ULM pulls it off, it makes our win less special... but as you point out, we need to have conference mates win to up the RPI.
  2. ULM is looking very sharp against TTU. ULM is knocking down their shots, sometimes crazy ones... lot's of contested 3's... you wonder if they can keep this up...
  3. Any interested to see future opponent Kansas play, they are playing DII Longwood right now on ESPN3.
  4. Ark State over Mississippi at the half: 32-24. Could be a nice OOC win over the SEC. Hopefully they can keep it up.
  5. I just noticed that New Mexico State at Louisiana-Lafayette is also on channel surfing.
  6. As mentioned already, the ULM vs. TTU game is on channel surfing plus the ULAR vs. SMU game will be on too.
  7. FAU vs. UC Davis Denver vs. UC Santa Barbara WKU vs. Saint Joseph's Ark State vs. Mississippi Florida Memorial vs. FIU TENN Temple vs. MTSU ULM vs. Texas Tech USA vs. Spring Hill New Mexico St vs. LA-Lafayette Huntingdon vs. Troy AR-Little Rock vs. SMU Of course I want all SBC teams to win their OOC game; however, if we have to win one, I hope that it is UALR over SMU! I just love SBC over CUSA, especially when it is SMU.
  8. Get better soon Alzee. We need you!
  9. Based on these first two games, I think Dominique should be our starting point guard. I love White, and this isn't a shot against him. However, based on the first two games, Dom looks sharper, faster (much, much faster -lightning quick), more creative, and on-target with his shots. White's shot is off (though we know he will get it back and light it up soon), but even more important he looks flat - physically and emotionally. White's passes are lazy and several got intercepted in both games (and these are DII players). Moreover, White seems reluctant to feed the big men and prefers to play catch outside the 3-point line. In short, I think Dom has earned the starting role in my humble opinion.
  10. Wow. You extracted all of that (above) from this comment: "Unless we go undefeated this season, watch how quickly those people chime back in should we lose. Hell, there's mini-panic in the exhibition thread. We lack for a grounded-in-reality fan base." I want you to go lay down and get up on the other side of the bed :-)
  11. I hear ya... on another note, I was very happy to see Jones and Walton sign as I was a tad concerned that we didn't receive their LOI on signing day... but as Vito said, don't worry they are on the way - and they were...
  12. Funny how things change. I recall a few years back many (but not me) were calling for his head because of all the close loses that seemed to swing to our opponents. My guess is that most now fear his departure.
  13. I know it is only Henderson State, but I am pretty amped up about going to game along side 2000 screaming DISD students... Basketball season couldn't get here soon enough! This season will mark my last season where I can attend every game so I hope it is a special one. I'll be moving to Corpus to join a private practice in Summer 2011. However, I plan to buy season tickets for football, attend select weekend men's hoops games, and watch the other basketball games on internet TV.
  14. Forgot to mention that the ranking was provided by Hoopscooponline.com
  15. Johnny Jones and Co. did a fantastic job with recruiting. Ranked #31 in the nation and 3rd best in Texas (behind Baylor and Texas). Possibly the best ever in the history of UNT as I understand it. Press release is here.
  16. I thought I recalled that Coach Jones said that Avery's abilities actually exceeded expectations and that he might get a scholy at some point. Perhaps I am misremembering this...
  17. I am surprised we didn't see Avery Redmond last night. I was excited we signed Edwards, but are starting to get a little concerned. He didn't do much last night and the reports (rumors?) of knee problems doesn't help my confident either. We absolutely need a solid replacement for Tramiel's minutes.
  18. Vito discusses last night's exhibition.
  19. Dominique and Shorter looked really sharp and engaged. Otherwise, the team looked flat and "going through the motions." Whenever UAM would get close, the Mean Green would ratchet things up a notch and pull away only to look bored again... Also, I had forgotten how fast Dominique is... wow.. a bullet on the court.
  20. Places UNT at a 14 seed and the only SBC team in the tourny, but also comments that it could be a 13 seed. Not bad... But I hope we can get a little higher...
  21. UNT is the bull dog on the block now in the SBC...
  22. Dang! I wish I saw this last night!
