  1. What I saw in our last 2 games seems to be continuing... everyone seems to understand their role... even the bench is playing with confidence and their assigned role... no one is trying to play outside their own abilities... really in-sync and confident...
  2. Very good game so far... the commentators have noted on several occasion that we have a "loose defense" at best, even saying it non-existent from time to time and that we'll give them whatever shot they want....
  3. Too many dang replays... after every LSU score.
  4. Knox with a block and 2 points in 1 minute... nice!
  5. The LSU feed is really clear.. not sure how stable 'cause I haven't watched log enough... but so far so good.
  6. Ben Knox getting the start!?!
  7. I've been waiting for this game for forever! Can't believe it is almost about to start!
  8. Me too!
  9. Thanks. Either I had forgotten or didn't know... perhaps my excitement about seeing it on national TV over-rid my memory system... exiting nonetheless!
  10. While searching for "North Texas" on my TV guide, I noticed that The Mean Green Insider will be shown on 12/23/10 on Fox College Sports (FCS) Central. This means our UNT athletics will be featured semi-nationally on FCS! My guess is that they will start to show each edition, but I did not see any others planned for broadcast just yet. This is a big deal in my opinion because it helps to make UNT Athletics even more relevant. Most of the major programs have this type of coverage, and it is nice to finally see UNT get some of it.
  11. I checked Mean Green Premium yesterday and I did not see it in the line-up - so if nothing has changed, then I doubt it... but who knows.
  12. Another viewing option is to purchase a one month video subscription from LSU for $12.95.. Info is here: https://www.nmnathletics.com/PremiumVideo.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200
  13. An employee of The Pour House called me back and said he checked with the UNT athletics department, and they told him there was no TV coverage for this event. It doesn't appear that UNT Athletics is accurate since we already know there is TV coverage... the question is will anyone have it in Denton. I didn't think to ask the employee if he actually checked their DISH TV guide... so it looks like Pour House is not an option. If anyone else finds a bar/restaurant/etc where they game will be shown, please post it here.
  14. I just put in a call to Pour House. They are going to check on the game, and call me back.. i'll post what I find out in this forum.
  15. How about any Denton watching parties? Has anyone found out of local restaurants might carry this?
  16. The Middle Tennessee and LA-Lafayette games are on ESPN3.
  17. Thanks for that clarification. I hadn't realized that... never really paid attention to his gear until he started to get hurt. Hopefully he heals up soon as he has been monster under the basket this season... if he continues with this, I'll have to call him the "unexpected major contributor of this season."
  18. That reader who announced Osborn's signing also posted a link to a video of Osborn: http://www.streetlight-productions.com/BrentOsbornFULLSCREEN.html
  19. Did anyone catch the comment from a reader at the end of Vito's recruiting update? He says that he knows the family of Mississippi JC quarterback Brent Osborn, and that he committed to UNT tonight.
  20. What did you mean by this? Is he injured?
  21. I watched Holmen during warm ups, and he was nailing the 3 point shot, especially from the left side of the floor. He would hit 3-5 shots in a row from the 3. How wonderful would that be if we can have a big man that can nail the 3. It really opens up other things for our offense and makes things difficult on the opposition's defense... Hopefully tonight was turning point for Holman and his contributions. Edwards also had a particularly good game, and looked more involved and up to the speed of the game as well as playing with intensity. He just looked more comfortable out there. Edwards ended up with 8 points, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal in 16 minutes of play.. now that is production! And of course Big George simply dominated Texas State. They didn't what to do with him. And last, Hogans is completely beat up. He wore a left elbow pad, left wrist brace, right wrist brace, left knee brace, and, get this, soccer style shin guards on both legs. And hobbled out of tonight's game grimacing in pain while holding his left hip... I do not know how much longer he will hold up. All around great effort by the good guys.
  22. I do not know what to say about that game. We barely beat that team 3-4 weeks ago, and tonight it was not even competitive. We looked to be at a higher level of play... faster, stronger, and smarter.. They simply could not compete. Last time I looked at the hustle stats at the game, I think we had about 20 assists. Not sure the final count. It seemed like each of our players understood their roles and were in sync the entire game. I hope that the Jackson State game and this one signals a resurgent Mean Green that plays fierce team ball from start to finish.
  23. FAU and Monroe are on ESPN3.
  24. This has to be one of the worst SBC OOC seasons I recall in a long time.
  25. A few comments about last night's win. This was a nice win. A blow out for much of the game. And this is a team that has played us tight the past few games if I recall correctly. Shows that we have definitely step things up a notch. Although a 'nice win,' I find it hard to get excited knowing we got beat by 20 at Sam Houston. This sour feeling might actually last all season... though it might be cured by a road win against LSU I am not sure if this was mentioned last night, but Triston Thompson went head first into the hard wood. I had a perfect angle... his forehead struck directly into hardwood after getting knock out of the air during his drive to the basket. He was unable to cushion this fall much, if at all. I could not believe he actually got up.. it appeared to be very nasty. I see no way he could not have suffered a mild concussion. He was also holding his right (I think) wrist while sitting on the bench for an extended time after this fall. I wish Triston the best and hope that he is OK. Hopefully Kedrick will be OK too.. he has emerged as a serious scoring threat and his defense last night was crazy good.. several of us noticed this... he was really getting after it... and of course his shot blocking is always fierce. We wondered who would step up and fill in Tremeil's minutes, and I think we have our man (which I am pleasantly surprised as I thought Hogan would only be a limited role player). In short, we are screwed if Hogans is out for any length of time.
