  1. You know these new guys as good as anyone Cooley so I take your word, but the official roster shows all 3 as guards, not forwards.
  2. My guess is, if the reports are true about Jordon Williams, he will play quite a bit this season. Jones called him one of the most dynamic players to ever suit up for the Mean Green... you don't keep that kind of talent on the bench. On another topic, there was much to like about last year's team, but height was not one of them. We have some height again at the guard position like when we had Calvin Williams and Kendrick Davis roaming the floor... Franklin is 6'5, Alzee is 6'4, and Jordan Williams is 6'6. Franklin appears to be a beast (220LB) for a guard.. NBA size... and as we all noted Alzee is beefed up..
  3. He's there.. #23...if I recall he makes a sweet turn around jumper from about the foul line toward the end of video.
  4. Alzee is freaking ripped... I didn't even recognize him at first... I see he wasn't just sitting around his year off..
  5. Thanks. I was just noticing that... there is a #25 that isn't on the roster.. any idea?
  6. There are so many new faces... I saw Kedrick and Edwards... Can anyone ID the players faces and match them to their numbers?
  7. Thanks for the correction guys...
  8. Pretty sure it wasn't an ESPN3 game... I believe it was only available on the mean green premium feed.
  9. UT knows how to evaluate QBs, and even their bench QBs are as good or better than any we have...not talking down about our QBs.. it's just how it is.. Things just did not work out for this young man in that specific situation. Do you think he suddenly lost of his footballs skills? This is would be an incredible signing if the UNT coaches pulled it off.
  10. You guys are nuts. The coaches (and myself) would without doubt drool all over themselves if this premier QB was on the Mean Green roster.
  11. I recall one of the announcers saying that Saban keep most of his starters in that game going into the 4th Q. The score was about 27-0 but UNT had threatened to score several times... and they seemed dedicated to shutting us out... so yes, i believe that the starters were in for a good part of the game.
  12. If FIU can keep this up.. talk about a rags to riches story... I remember a few years ago, they were like 30 consecutive loses or something like that... last season they won the conference and go to a bowl game (and win it), and now beat a BCS team... just goes to show what the right coach can do for a team. I guess someone -1 me b/c I started a thread that had already been going on... sorry guys... didn't realize it when I posted...
  13. Anyone who is interested to see this game can watch a replay of the entire game at ESPN3.
  14. Sorry if this was posted but I didn't see it anywhere. Looks like FIU is for real this season. Beat Louisville last night 24-17. Although it sounded like FIU lead most of the game, the review also made it sound like Louisville kept them contained but for a few big plays by T.Y. Hilton... whatever, a win is a win.. and this is a quality win for the Sunbelt. Here is a link to a review: http://www.courier-journal.com/article/2011309090067 Now its our turn to beat a Conference USA foe Houston today!!!!!!!!! Go Mean Green!!
  15. They are a mid-tier non-D1 team. Scary? I sure hope not. I do not care how new our team is.
  16. Sweet! Tony is a beast on the boards! We might have found our Odufuwa replacement for rebounding. I hope the USA continues to the final game, not just because I want to win, but to give Tony extra time on the floor to work the kinks out from such a long break from bball.
  17. I think you say that Franklin will play 2011-2012? It is this a gut feeling or do you know that this will/has happened?
  18. I can only hope that we become a team with a reputation for recruiting top-notch players who are "one and done" (though I realize Clarke is one and done only b/c of eligibility). That is a "problem" I'd really like to have.
  19. That stinks.. 6'10" 230 power forward.. could have really used him. Signed with Eastern Washington???
  20. No doubt. The fact that we are discussing 4* and especially 5* recruits signals major changes in UNT basketball.
  21. I couldn't disagree more.. I think we have some of the best basketball unis in the NCAA.. Road black, home white, and road green are each super classy.
  22. With signing of Roger Franklin, I guess that brings us to one scholarship. Hopefully, JJ finds us a monstrous, big man post player.
  23. This incoming class is crazy. We have several nationally ranked players, plus several state ranked ones. This has to be one of, if not, the best class ever for UNT, especially given its first 5* player in Tony Mitchell.
  24. Vito posted an updated article on this development with his thoughts on this signing: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/archives/2011/04/thoughts-on-franklin-joining-t.html Vito describes this incoming class as "scary good."
