Thanks KRAM. I bet your right. All I've known is Fouts and generally lousy football teams, but that did not deter me or my excitement for the Mean Green. I am thrilled to see our new stadium as well as a quality UNT football team (very proud of our performance against K-State - could have easily won that one).

I've been a big time supporter of Mean Green Athletics since 2005. I graduated in 2010, and I moved to Corpus in 2011. I missed season 1 in Apogee, but I just booked a Southwest flight for the Troy game this weekend!!!!!!!!!! I am completely stoked. I was supposed to attend the Houston game last season with my father but we couldn't make it up. But I'm there this weekend! I am traveling alone. I wanted to see if any Alumni might invite me to their tail gate area to hang out and down some beers/BBQ for the pre-game? I also need to purchase a ticket. I know I've seen the "fill the wing" thread here. Is the wing a good spot to sit? or should I get a regular seat? Heck, I might just go stand with students so I can get rowdy. See y'all in Denton!

I agree with your major points, but I'd have to say that we have few fair weather fans given that we have only won 5 games in the past how many years, and still have 18,000 to 25,000 people show for a home game. That is basically the size of our base, hardcore fans. To have fair weather fans, you have to actually win. If you throw the tailgaters into that number, than it goes up considerably. I think what we need now are ways to convince the taligaters to come into the game plus bring in new fans from the student body and community.

I was very pleased to see SMU get destroyed by A&M on their home turf. Very enjoyable. Good for them though getting A&M to come to them. Hopefully, we can pull something like this off in the near future and sell out Apogee.

I hope we keep this home and home series going with K-State. Very enjoyable series with good fan turnout at both games. But I don't recall hearing about future meetings after this one.

Yep. That was big-time, run it down their throat and straight up their arse power-football. It's one thing to implement that type of game against Texas Southern, but it is completely another against legit Top 25 competition. We put on our big-boy pants last night and physically dominated Kansas State for 3 quarters. We can win out the rest of the reason if we play like we did last night minus the special teams disaster (that's what lost us this game).

I don't see the this game listed on Mean Green Premium. I haven't watched a women's soccer game in while, but I seem to recall that is has been available on premium. Any idea if it will be broadcasted?

These new coaches (b-ball and football) really know how to promote our programs... and seem to have a grasp of the big picture.
