  1. Wow! I can't wait to play and beat the hell out of Western Kentucky!
  2. Thanks for the good info. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of JJ. Good sized guy.. hopefully with giant sized skills.
  3. I'll be there.. student section. I am bringing my wife, my daughter, her friend, and my brother (and possibly his wife)! I sure hope we beat UTA.
  4. He is 6'8" 240lb center that transferred in. Meangreensports.com says that his specialty is shot blocking. However, we haven't seen much of him yet. I seem to recall reading somewhere that he is playing injured somewhat. Am I remember this right? He only has this and next year with us, and I'd like to get another big man that can block on the floor. Anyone know his status?
  5. This is getting really ugly. I don't know if I will even watch the 2nd half. I dont' know if Tech is that good or if UALR is just having a bad game... UALR looks like they are moving in slow motion. I know our attack and one-on-one defense looks much faster than UALR is playing right now.. they may be tired from last nights game??
  6. They just briefly mentioned the W. Kentucky win on ESPN. They had Courtney Lee's stats plastered by the final result too. Apparently, he had a great game.
  7. Sagarin had Georgia at #56 in the nation. Not bad. Western Kentucky was actually rated #48 going into the game so Western Kentucky was favored to win, believe it or not. I wonder what W. Kentucky's rating will go to in the Sagarin. W. Kentucky was #10 in the mid major poll. I bet they go up there too.
  8. New Orleans is down 6 against Tulane. Now I cheer for New Orleans so we can add Conference USA to the list of SBC OOC wins this week.
  9. hell ya! what great week so far for the SBC!! Atlantic 10 and SEC get defeated. If UALR can beat Tech than we can add Big 12 to that list!!!!
  10. I really think it will stay this way until the SBC teams consistently wins OOC games, not one here or one there. And, you can't blame them b/c the Sunbelt can be very inconsistant. They want to see a pattern of wins before they mention us. On the otherhand, it is really skewed reporting like you point out. With excellent teams like Western Kentucky, South Alabama, UALR, possibly Troy and Denver, and now possibly UNT, the SBC is looking to be a very competitive conference with very talented players. Hopefully these top SBC teams will lay the hammer to other conferences this season. Hopefully, we'll add UTA, Rice, and Tulsa to the Charlotte list.
  11. thanks for the information. Do you know if the Super Pit was recently renovated? It actually looks pretty new to me on the inside.
  12. I want to repost my question above. I am really interested to here from someone on the current Super Pit.
  13. UALR will face Texas Tech tonight and will be televised live on ESPN2 (9:00 p.m. CT). I am no fan of UALR, but will be rooting for them tonight. A Sunbelt victory over a Big 12 team in light of our Atlantic 10 victory over Charlotte would be a nice start to the season and maybe drawn some attention to our conference.
  14. Hey.. best of luck to you guys too... I don't know anything about UTA so I can't comment on your analysis, except to say that we have a very exciting line up. If the Mean Green players can fire on all cylinders like everyone, including themselves, thinks they can... watch out. We'll be difficult to beat. I think getting great regional rivalries is the best thing for UNT sports whether it is football, basketball, etc. See you at the game!
  15. I agree. I have no problem naming the practice field whatever he wants. It is a common and accepted practice to respect the donor's wishes for naming buildings they helped fund. Mr. McIngvale, we thank you for your donations. In fact, if you'd like to donate additional millions for our new stadium, we'd also name that after you or anyone else that you want.
  16. I don't think his Mamma gave him enough attention as a youngster. He was also probably potty trained before he was ready... he should seek treatment immediately
  17. We are only 3 games into the season and Bell already plays like seasoned player, despite his first year on the team. I can't wait to see what he'll look like half-way through the season.
  18. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  19. We ran their good name through the dirt. The only way to properly restore their respect is to immediately call the UNT Athletics Department and schedule a game for the 2007 season at the Super Pit. (PSSTTT: Hey, this is really a no good, lousy, underhanded attempt to lure in the 49ers. Don't tell Charlotte. We know we'll open a fresh can of whoop ass on them at the Super Pit.)
  20. I don't see what the big deal is... just name the field DD, keep the much needed million dollars, and move on. Case closed. PS: He could have saved himself $5,000 and just called UNT to tell them to name it DD.
  21. I realized that.. my original post question was, what kind of rating will we get after beating the #55 team? I don't know much about Sagarin or if even 1 win will advance us much.
  22. Charlotte is D1A... #55 in Sagarin.
  23. I noticed our 212 Sagarin rating is our preseason rating and doesn't include any of our wins (our record is listed as 0-0). I wonder what our rating will be after our win over Charlotte?
