Stoops says he might do a QB rotation and have multiple QB's! God I hope he does that!!!!!!!!!!! I'd love for their QB's to be looking over their shoulder when they play us...multiple nervous QB's set the stage for the upset win...

He was already injured in drills. This is not a good sign for his health or the Mean Green team. If he is already getting hurt before a more strenuous, hard hitting gametime situation, he needs to stop playing football and take care of himself and his future. He doesn't want to end up with a permanent physical disability. After all, football is just a silly game.

OK. I'll take the beating. I don't see anything wrong with this. If folks want to wear UNT gear quite often (like I do), I don't want to be wearning green every day of the week. I think this is smart so that the public will have a variety of colors to wear when they are coordinating their clothes for the day. The important part is that it says North Texas or Mean Green!!

Fox College Sports - Central (FCS) will be re-playing the UNT vs. WKU game tonight at 6:00pm. This was fantastic game from earlier this season!!! As I recall, Calvin Watson is on fire, and hits mad 3's from beyond the NBA 3 point line. This is a game definitely worth watching again!! Sadly, just typing this stuff about Calvin reminded me that we won't be speaking of him this coming season... Another side note: apparently this is a Sunbelt/WKU reply night because they are broadcasting the WKU vs. Southern Illnois (great game!!) before the UNT game, and then New Orleans Vs. WKU at 8:00pm (after the UNT game). Great additional off-season exposure for North Texas and the Sunbelt!

I think you referring to what we call the Union Book Store? We refer to the North Texas Book Store as the one in the same shopping center as Panchos Mexican Buffet and Central Grill on Ave C (across from Sack-N-Save), which closed. It think that is where the confusion came in...

OK. I am a current UNT doctoral student. I hope you don't have any problems with students riding along. I will check with the Mean Green Athletic department for tickets. If any are available and I can afford them, I may very well join y'all on this bus trip. Thanks!

I had no idea his injury was that serious. I admire his will to play, but it sounds like he shouldn't be back on the field regardless of how well it healed.

Thanks for the link. It says that he has taken a medical redshirt (2006), as well as a redshirt (2003) his first year here. It looks to me that he has only played 2 seasons. Does that mean he can play 2 more seasons? I am glad to here that his serious leg injury apparently healed.

Any chance he got a medical red shirt and will have an extra year of eligibility?

I purposefully didn't include Vizza in my analysis. I don't know much about him except that he is a big, strong QB with a history of accurate passing and time spent in a spread offense. Who knows, maybe he'll beat out both Meager and Wilson. If DD was still head coach, I'd say we are in a bad spot with no clear front runner; however, I fully trust that Dodge will have this properly sorted and have an efficient QB read to go by the start of the season.

Meager looked good, but I can't help but think that Woody might be the man. Don't forget even in last year's crappy season, I think he threw for about 60% completion rate... couple that with his excellent scrambling ability, good height, and Dodge's expert tutelage and you may have one hell of a QB. Whoever gets the job, I 100% trust in Dodge's decision. Grooming QB's into big time players is his specialty.

If SMU acknowledged us as a rival, that would put (in their minds) us on equal footing or stature with them. We need to whoop their arses again, and then they will HAVE to respect us, or at the very least fear us. Come on September....

Man, I think I look forward to the SMU game more than any other game this season. I want to beat (again) SMU so bad that it hurts. I cannot wait to see an OU style meltdown in their forum! September cannot come soon enough!

There's no way we'll have a 3 win season again. We lost three games by a total of 12 points (Troy, Lou Tech, FAU) under the Darrell "K8MITB" Dickey offense, and could have easily been 6-6.

Simple...sell reasonably priced beer (not the $6.00 or $7.00 prices like pro games).
