Hopefully they will hang on. One of the downsides of the spread offense is clock management. OSU will have plenty of possessions to make up these points b/c the clock continually stops with Troy's offense.

I went after I got of off practicum and watched the first half. They were up 3-0 against Texas State when I left. Does anyone know the final score? By the way, Mean Green women started off with more kickball approach at the start of the game, but really settled in and started making really nice, well thought out plays. Go Mean Green Women's Soccer!! I will probably go to the Sunday game and take my daughter and her friends...

Now that Troy is starting to clearly dominate OSU, he seems a little more energetic.... he probably figured Troy would screw this up somehow and was waiting before jumped on the wagon...

I'll make my first prediction of the season, and publicly state that the FAU game will be our first win. Dodge and Co. have 2 weeks to right the ship based on the last 2 game videos. Offense is already kick'n, and I think our defense will get it together. Our team will come out super-prepared with excellent execution and win this one.

It was a very good interview. I like Dodge's concept of no MVP, but instead has a MPP (Most Productive Player) based on a point system.

On defense, I know we have some new faces, some quality veterans, and some carry overs from previous years. I'd like to know how each group is performing, and if known, why a person if not playing. It appears we have some of our best players out right now for various reason?? (injury, dog house, etc.). Can someone with a better knowledge of the roster summarize our defensive players' status, especially the status of our linebackers and secondary.

I hate to say it, but Jamario is probably done. He injured his hamstring years ago. If it hasn't healed up by now, I doubt it will magically heal this season.

gotcha! too bad though, b/c I would have loved to hear his comments about the SMU game...

I am in San Diego for a 4 day conference. I am in workshops and other festivities until 9:00 or 10:00 tonight (pacific time). I am going to bring my laptop for the workshop at the hotel and sit in the back with a small headphone to my ear to listen to the internet radio broadcast of the game; but after that we have a conference dinner at the San Diego Zoo of all places. I doubt I'll have any wireless internet there. Would someone be willing to periodically text message me the Mean Green/SMU score to my mobile phone? ah ha! instead of stealth recruiting, we now have stealth offensive/defensive schemes...

I don't have enough technical football knowledge to talk defensive formations; however, I trust that if Stoop's coaches found our defense laughable, then there is something to it. We always complained about the DD vanilla offense. Hopefully, we didn't trade that in for a vanilla defense. Don't get me wrong, I am still enormously excited about the season; but even I noticed our lack of defensive adjustments in the game... hopefully Mendoza picks up on things quickly...

Why would be the recipient of any football respect in the first place? We've won 5 games in two years and none this season yet.

At first, I thought our offensive line significantly struggled to keep OU away from Meager. However, after Vizza came in the O-line looked pretty good. I think Meager's problem is that he scrambles wide and outside at the first sign of an OU player seemingly breaking through... Vizza stays in the pocket and looks very comfortable, confident, and strong doing so. his ability to stay in the pocket and trust offensive line actually made the O-line look much improved. I think this is b/c even if the defense starts to break through, the O-line can deflect the defense away from Vizza knowing that Vizza wouldn't take off running. With Meager, he made it impossible for the O-line to block b/c he takes off running in weird, wide angles at the first sign of trouble. Granted - Vizza made ugly mistakes, like the safety, but overall I think that Vizza will eventually take the job from Meager.

A couple of the Utah State forum members are pissed off that we warned them about DD and turned on UNT posters and ridiculed our school. There is even one idiot from UNT bad mouthing UNT (I guess he doesn't realize the joke is on him... he attends and will receive his degree from the school he ridicules... what a moron). Utah State fans should turn on DD and admin that brought him in, not on us. The most obvious question Utah State fans should ask: "If DD is such a great head coach and accomplished so many wonderful things at UNT, why then did he not get offers for a new head coach position?" No team in America wanted his brand of boring ass, non-innovative, ram it down the gut, keep 8 men in the box football. I actually feel sorry for Utah State, and say, "Good Luck Utah State!" You will need plenty of it.

Ya, their passing game was horrible save one nice TD pass. Their QB is a good scrambler, but seems to panic quickly. They have a great running back and a good offensive line. But there passing game really stinks. Their receivers dropped a ton of passes....
