The only problem is that White didn't handle the full court pressure very well.... Bell took over the point during the full court press and had no problem... Josh will learn from this game... Josh kept stopping every time he got pressure, and Bell just plowed through the half court line... UT stopped the full court press once Bell took over... I haven't been big Bell fan this season only b/c of his questionable shooting so far, but he save our arse on the full court press tonight...

I'm proud of this team. No glory in losing, but we showed that we belonged on the court with a Top 5 nationally ranked team in the 2nd half. And we cut in down to 9 after a 24 point deficit.... we are in for GOOD season in the SBC and the NCAA tourny (yes, I said it)........

I noticed that we match up very well against them in terms of size...in fact, we are the bigger team when comparing anticipated starting line ups... now speed, that may be another thing.... damn I'm pumped about the game tonight!!

A couple of scheduling things that I forgot to mention that JJ said at the show... that the OSU game was a 1 for 1 contract and we play their next year... He said the UT game was a paycheck...no surprise... but he went on to say that they expect enormous future difficulty scheduling the UT's of the world because of the current success of our program. I wonder how many other "Big" conferences will schedule home games at the Pit given our record there?

I might go... Did they say if they would have the volume on for the game?

What's weird is that ESPN Full Court lists this game, even on the Full Court website. Apparently, FSN and ESPN are working together on this game.. I'm still holding out hope that ESPN360 will pick it up, else I will have to go the PPV route.

That fact that NMSU was the WAC champion last year, which I didn't realize when we played them, plus this win against a very good MWC team in New Mexico makes our 21 point come from behind victory very special. NMSU also put up nearly 90 points earlier this season against UT, of all teams. Great come-from-behind win Mean Green!!! I hope this game helps our boys continue to battle hard if we get down against UT.

One thing is for sure... WE HAVE TO START STRONG! We cannot give UT any additional confidence, and we need our guards to shoot lights out from start to finish...

The game was added late to ESPN360. I hope that they just haven't added it to the programming guide. And given that CMJ can't see it either and he lives in Cali, then that may be the case... I sure hope so...

They still do not have the game up on the ESPN360 programming guide. I am starting to think that they are blocking it due to my IP address being in the North Texas area. Can someone that lives outside North Texas go to ESPN360 to see if the game shows up for them in the programming guide?? thanks!

I love to hear him talk about our school and student athletes as "special." JJ is such a class act. He is a great ambassador for our school.

You could not find it on ESPN360 b/c they do not have it listed on the programming guide. Hopefully, they just haven't updated the guide yet because the game was only recently shown as an ESPN360 game on ESPN.

Wow! They must have just added that today. I spent an hour yesterday trying to figure out all my viewing options, and it definitely wasn't listed then. Awesome!! I hope they don't try to black it out by IP address.

I checked ESPN360 this weekend and the game was not listed. I read that just b/c it is on ESPN Full Court does not mean it is on ESPN360, and apparently this is the case for this game.

I looked yesterday and could not find the game on Verizon either. I could only locate a ESPN PPV channel that had it. Damn I hope I can watch this game.

I'd love 16-2 for our conference record. In the past, including this season, we have actually played fairly good in OOC games. The losing seems to start during conference play, and especially against teams that we should beat. Last season conference play was especially brutal with all the last second losses. I think we have an excellent chance to meet these win/lose predictions, and what could amount to one of the best seasons in the history of the program.... time will tell...

:D I wouldn't say I support his position. It is just difficult to argue with the "Dodge was a mistake" argument b/c of this horrendous season. I actually believe the Dodge hiring was the correct decision. However, everything we say about Dodge's anticipated future success is pure speculation and gut feelings. No really knows so I don't know how they can say UNT_Playmaker's position is wrong.

I wholeheartedly disagree with UNT_Playmaker. However, I do not think that his post is spam or is worthy of out right rejection. There are no rules that say we must like Dodge and his assistants or even have to support them. Dissent is a important aspect of all forums, and quite frankly, makes them more interesting to read (can you imagine a forum where everyone had the same view?). If anything, UNT_Playermaker is more justified in his reasoning that the Dodge hire was a mistake than we are saying it was the right decision given our horrible record and ranking as the worst defense in the country (you can't get much worse than worst in the country). I know, it was Mendoza - but Dodge hired him and even said that defense was the strength of our team - a misassessment of enormous proportions to say the least. Instead of blasting UNT_Player, you should consider responding to his posts with evidence to the contrary. Good luck finding it at this point though.

I mentioned in another thread I'd hold my predictions for the UT game until after the weekend. UT is undefeated and blew out #7 Tennessee a few games ago. BTW, Tennessee has been a wrecking ball against SBC teams (ask Lou-Lafayette and Mid Tennessee) this season. We have 1 common opponent with UT in none other than New Mexico State. UT beat them 102-87, while we struggled to win. It is impressive though that New Mexico State was able to put up 87 against UT, so we are capable of the same. I think this game will be boil down to 3 things (1) we need a fast start (none of this going down 10-20 points early in the game) with a high scoring game - will our guards show up? (2) defense - we have to play spectacular defense to pull off the upset. (3) can Wooden dominate UT like he did OSU? In short, I'd love to call an upset, but I can't. Our play has been too inconsistent since the OSU win. I'll have to predict a UT win. But, we definitely have a CHANCE for the upset if all of our players shoot to their ability and come out of the gate quickly.

Good points Buford... I didn't realize that they were last year's MAC champs... that makes this come-from-behind win even more impressive.....

A few other Sagarin tidbits.... Oklahoma State moves up to #56... geez the Big 12 teams sure get a ton breaks/chances/benefits of the doubt in the ratings, though I am happy to see it since we beat them.... South Alabama moved up to #87, while Western Kentucky is #81. Poor 'ole New Orleans drops to #160. Ark-Little rock is only #162, but their strength of schedule is extremely low.
