  1. Just got back from the game... we played really well in the first half, but lost intensity in the 2nd half. That was a good team we made look silly. I wish we kept the heat on in the 2nd half and put up 100 though.
  2. We definitely yell "who?" The last 2 games it hasn't been as loud due to the decreased attendance... but during the regular season the "who" is pretty loud.
  3. I'm there with my wife, daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and daughter's friend.
  4. Time to update your stats CBL. We had a couple of SBC wins last night including a ULL win over Hawaii.
  5. My visiting family went to the Southern game, and will also be at the Centenary game with me tonight. We sat right in the middle of the Pit Crew section. They were shocked at how Pit Crew members harassed the opposing bench the entire game. They couldn't believe how personal it got with the coach and the players too. They weren't offended necessarily and found much of what was said to be funny. They did, however, speculate that this was unsportsman-like behavior. What my family call "personal attacks or unsportman-like behavior," I call "home court advantage." Is it common for fans to relentlessly heckle the opposing team at other stadiums in D1A? I am pretty sure it is, but haven't been to other college b-ball stadiums before, and wanted to see what other experiences where like.
  6. I figure if we can get Josh back by Jan 3 (Troy) we will be OK. We only have 1 conference game (Denver) b/t now and then.
  7. I got Josh's attention from the stands before the game started... I asked him how bad the injury was, and he said, "I'm in alot of pain." I asked him how long will he be out, and he said 2 or 3 games. I sure hope it is only 2 or 3. These damn hamstring injuries seem to linger around.
  8. Take a look at my Sagarin thread too from yesterday. We are now a Top 50 nationally ranked program according to Sagarin.
  9. For the initial part of the season, Sagarin is biased because it is based on Bayesian statistics (previous season performances). This isn't an opinion, and Sagarin states this on their website. For the first time this season, the teams are now connected (unbiased). UNT Mean Green is now a Top 50 program at #47. We are 4-2 (they only use D1 games) with the 12th most difficult schedule in the country. Other SBC notable rankings: South Alabama #54 Western Kentucky #64 New Orleans #115 Arkansas-LR #118 Non-Conference Rivals From This Season: UTA -#28 Oklahoma State #84 Texas #3 New Mexico State #105 Indiana State #146
  10. Yes, our conference hosted these... the announcers said it was a sell out (around 16,000 - 17,000) as well as a great event for SBC basketball exposure.
  11. Obviously, I don't know that other teams were doing this, but I cannot think of another reason why the AD would not rebroadcast our games this season. Can anyone think of anything else??? I doubt they are not rebroadcasting for technical reasons or limitations....
  12. USA beats Mississippi State!! 71-67. Bennett ends the game with 39 points. Nice OOC win for the USA and SBC!!!
  13. USA up 4 with 1 second left.... Bennett with 39!
  14. S. Alabama up 2 over Miss State with 13 seconds left in the 2nd half. Bennett has 37! damn! Go USA!
  15. I'm in. And I'm bringing my family plus my in-laws that are coming from Kentucky for Christmas. We will all be at both games. I've heard the holiday crowds are very poor. I wouldn't expect many people.
  16. Aside from the super crappy video feeds lately, for some reason they haven't shown on-demand replays of the men's basketball games this season. I can't help but wonder if they stopped this because our opponents subscribed to the service to use them to scout/prepare for us? If this is true, then I will live without them.
  17. I really hope for a WKU win for a number of different reasons....and this could be their season to pull of this upset... it will be nice have a couple of SBC teams with wins over Top 25 opponents so that when we whip their arse in conference play, it will really help our rankings....
  18. I watched part of the 2nd half of the WKU game. Having watched the Mean Green's furious paced offense, WKU (and Northern Arizona) looked a little slow. I think WKU had an off night however b/c their shots just were not dropping and they turned the ball over quite a bit. Lee had an especially bad shooting night. WKU looked very beatable in this game, but I am not kidding myself... I know they are one of our toughest opponents in conference play.. The ending of the game was incredible. WKU were down 3 with 7 or 8 seconds left. Mendez-Valdez nailed the 3 to send it into over time.... however, there were couple of second left in regulation, and NAU hauled ass down the court on the ensuing position, and their player lobbed up an ugly off-balance, falling backwards shot (with 1 hand if I recall right) with a WKU player in his face just outside the 3 point line... and made the shot... they checked everything on replay including the time left and feet placement.... everything was legit, and NAU won in regulation. Tough loss for WKU.
  19. Thanks - I swore we had other games against the Big 12, but drew a blank....
  20. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the SBC 2-1 vs. the Big 12?
  21. I was channel surfing and found 2 SBC games on tonight on Fox College Sports. Anyone that wants to check out Denver or Western Kentucky can find them on: Denver vs. Northern Colorado 7:00PM FCS Central Western Kentucky vs. Northern Arizona 8:30PM FCS Pacific FCS is typically included in extra $$ sports packages and not a a part of standard cable.
  22. JJ reinterrated last night again that he expects Wooden to be back in 6-8 days, most likely in time for Southern. I just assume he take off until 12/22 when we play Denver at Denver.
  23. I disagree that we didn't play well overall. Hartford was dropping 3's no matter what we did... hand in their face or not....it was their night for 3's... that is, until we started lighting them up..... we did struggle with the full court press though... I agree with you that we have a long way to go... for me, that is the encouraging part....we have a ton of new people and the team as a whole is just starting to "gel" and we have already won some nice OOC games. Moreover, our guards outside of White have actually shot fairly poorly up until the past game or two... even Johnnie Jones commented two weeks ago that they were laughing that they were 5-1 with hardly any of their guards hitting their stride yet. If, or hopefully when, this team hits full stride... watch out, because if we have White, Thompson, Wooden, Q, Dennis, Bell, and the backup guards all playing to potential at the same time, we could go very, very far.
  24. I realize that these leagues were nothing to write home about. However, consistency is the Sunbelt's biggest problem (see UNO this season after a Top 25 win and then losing to a nobody). I am happy to see our conference win games that they should, and that certainly happened for these games. Plus I thought many of folks around here like to keep track of other SBC games.
