  1. New Orleans lost today on the road to FIU!!! Great News!!
  2. It seems that they have had a ton of more of our SBC road games video broadcasted this year...but Mean Green Premium are totally reliant on other school video feeds when we are on the road... it could be a licensing problem with that B2 Live video service that the MUTS use...
  3. I feel that today's game is a must win... with USA and WKU coming up, we can hardly afford additional conference losses. We also need to return to good road play exhibited in the Ark State victory, though we actually played decent against FAU, despite the loss. The boys will need to step up today regardless of how they are feel (flu). And I really hope that White and Wooden can overcome their injuries and see playing time. For some reason, today's game is not listed on the Mean Green Premium's live guide. I've already emailed support to see if they plan to add it last minute, which is something they have done in the past. I am skeptical that I'll receive a response before game time. I've nosed around and found out that a company called B2 Live TV handles the MTSU men's BB video feeds. They are $6.00/game and their website is here.
  4. I decided to take a short hiatus from posting over the last week to recuperate from the hang over associated with our 2 conference losses. I hope our boys have recovered from the flu, Josh from his concussion, and that Wooden’s ankles healed enough that he can play significant minutes. Their was alot of SBC action this past Thursday.... here you go: Thursday Night SBC Games FAU – 70, Denver 68 (overtime) FAU does us a favor by handing conference mate Denver another SBC loss. S. Alabama 66, ULL – 60 USA remains undefeated in the SBC and helps keep us competitive in the West with this ULL loss. Ark State 68, FIU 59 Louisiana-Monroe 82, Middle Tennessee 69 The biggest disappointment in the SBC, ULM, beats down MTSU and gets their 2nd conference win. Ark-LR 63, Troy 61 Troy cannot take care of business at home. I really hoped for an Ark-LR loss on this one.
  5. He better be really, really good for us to consider taking an another player under 6'.
  6. This thread isn't much better than should we look at D1AA.
  7. The off-season boredom is in full effect......
  8. Hold on there Cooley... We can't let one of our best posters retire... I'm going to send you a personal email when I get home from school/work today.
  9. Yes, a very disappointing loss. But we actually played much better than I expected given the current circumstances with injuries and the flu. I am just not going to make judgment calls right now. The are to many confounds in these last 2 losses to have an accurate idea of where we stand conference wise. I think those that do use these game as some relevant predictor of our team and JJ for the rest of the season should not be surprised if their predictions fall short. I think we will see the same team we have rallied around all season reemerge by either the Middle Tennessee or South Alabama game. I'll make one more prediction.....another road loss and I think Ebone will return to the forum calling for JJ's head should be a fun season.....
  10. Take a sip of the green kool-aid and stop injecting common sense and reality into our discussions... it makes reading less exciting and interesting
  11. I'm not sure I see that, though I'm not still sure where I stand on the White issue... Since teams started to focus on White, Dennis (and Willingham to a lesser degree) have really lit it up. Don't you think that the focus on White may have something to do with this?
  12. I hear ya... I realized that when I was typing it... what a great dilemma to have...
  13. Great analysis CBL. Personally, I am going to hold off analysis from what I saw with UNO. I think that game was fluke. This team has been banged up, and then had a severe flu bug sweep through the team. JJ said that their last week of practice was terrible leading up to the UNO game b/c of light player turn out due everyone being in bed. You could tell JJ was concerned during the pre-game interview... If we can pull out a road win against FAU, we'll be in good shape and have a week or so to let this team heal. The sky is not falling with this loss to UNO, but it damn sure felt that way Thursday night. I really feel for the team as they have worked so hard to win at home.... they had 3500 fans turn out on a Thursday only to give one of their worst performances all season. I hope that the crowd will not hold this against them and will return for South Alabama. A few player comments.....by my count, Wooden has 2 bad ankles, not 1... he injured the other one at Troy. JJ said that Dennis is still not 100% with his ankle... DAMN! If Dennis shoots like this on a bum ankle, I can't wait to see what he can do fully healthy. In regard to White, I started to think along the same lines as you did CBL; however, I think White should play extended minutes. Teams now must account for White and this opens up other opportunities for Dennis, Willingham etc. I think as season progresses White will learn how to better handle this added pressure and his shot will return. I know our guard play time is extremely competitive, but after it appeared that Willingham started to nail his shots, why has he been more or less benched lately? I can't understand why. I wonder if he is injured also?? Finally, during scoring droughts, I would like to see McCoy come in... he could turn into a one man show and spark this team given his NBA quickness and ability to hit the three.... More Triston too... I love his relentless drive to the basket.
  14. You might ask the rest of the UNO team about how great we are.... the Pit Crew talked up some serious smack, as usual.....and there was some really fun exchanges between UNO players and the Pit Crew. I've never seen a basketball team talk as much back as UNO did tonight.... I actually enjoyed it and how animated and lively they were.... I hope the game outcome, however, will be different come March. BTW, your coach needs to get examined (very soon) for potential heart related difficulties, especially high blood pressure... I'd hate to see his behavior on a losing night
  15. another thing... speaking of crowd appreciation....The Mean Green players entered the court from the second level and ran through the student section.... I completely missed this and was very disappointed... I ran up to get a soda with 6 minutes before the start of the game and figured I wouldn't miss anything... I should have known something was up when I saw them setting stairs at the doors in the Pit Crew section.
  16. and on a Thursday night too..... really bad timing....
  17. Your are welcome...... UNO happens to be the last game we play before the SBC tourny... it should be one hell of game... we will seek revenge and a high tourny placement, while UNO defends home court and their tourny placement.
  18. I think JJ should have turned loose McCoy.... assuming McCoy wasn't sick too.... with his speed and 3 point shooting ability, he had the potential to provide a big time spark to a sluggish team....
  19. I'm proud of our fans and the Pit Crew. We did the right thing by stopping the game and the heckling to clap and cheer for Bo McCalebb's fantastic accomplishment.
  20. With our team being sick tonight, I'm wearing my green wig to help boost player moral. We're heading out to the game... see everyone out there!
  21. sounds good....I hope they announce too... our Pit Crew is pretty rough on our opponents... I hope that they will applaud and not do something silly.......And Bo has had some great games against us... sorry, but I hope that changes tonight.... I tried to get the women's game too, but the feed is down... I don't why we have so much problems with our video feed. I watched the Denver and Troy game and the video feed was near perfection...
  22. Arrogance at SMU? I assume that this is a rhetorical question.
  23. OK - I'll admit it... I'm a little nervous about tonight's game... heading into the game I felt enormously confident that we'd beat UNO tonight. But with the recent news of the flu bug spreading through our team, I fear this could limit our playing ability and fiery edge that we normally exhibit; on the other hand, this could be a golden opportunity for some bench players to step up and win this one for us. I'm really excited about tonight's game... I thought Thursday would never get here.... see everyone out tonight!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. MUTS and WKU have also offered... I hope JJ and crew win this recruiting war for him...
  25. Reality is that we will probably not keep him under 12 points tonight so I know its a long shot......and I'll stand and cheer for this accomplishment if it happens...BUT I hope we spoil McCalebb's chance at this record tonight at the Super Pit and beat the hell out of New Orleans in the process....
