  1. I agree with you Emmitt on the Talons being the front row.... we really need the rowdy Pit Crew to be there to maximize the home court advantage.... To be truthful, this is a good problem to have... students arguing over sections... in fact, as student attendance continues to grow, you can expect even more in-fighting for seat space....
  2. Year.............# of Games......Total Attendance.......Average Attendance Per Game 2007-2008..........12...................35762.................................2980 2006-2007..........16...................33065.................................2067 By my estimates, we are up 914 people per game or a 44% increase in attendance over last season..... not bad!! I'm sure the NCAA tourny had alot to do with this. I think a few years back, they'd call B.S. if you told them we could get an average of 3000 people at the Super Pit for SBC games and up to 7500 for non-conference games.
  3. Wooden is playing hobbled right now... his and left and right ankle are injured. I am actually surprised he is playing... Look at his ankles next time you watch him play... they are taped up and braced so thick you can see it.... even in his hobbled state, he still makes a difference, though he hasn't score as much of late...
  4. Luckily for us, it doesn't start for another month....
  5. We've already smacked around ULL a few games ago... why is it not a favorable match up now?
  6. Triston Thompson and Adam McCoy's minutes were quality and HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE tonight!!!!
  7. It is clear to me that we won because of our first half 3-point shots, plus excellent free throwing shooting, especially in the second half down the stretch. In fact, 42 of our 60 points came from 3's and free throws.... of course, I'd rather win by 30, but I like that we found a way to win against a stifling defense that shut us down in the 2nd half.... great win boys!!!!
  8. it was directed at one of FIU's tall, skinny players with real lanky arms...I cannot recall which player it was now, but I think it might have been Hicks...
  9. Game starts at 3:00 CST. The Troy Vs. New Orleans game is underway too....UNO is up 2 with 8 minutes left in half 1. 22-20 Go TROY!!!
  10. My daugther, wife, and I will be there! Probably a few minutes late b/c my daughter has a 6:00pm basketball game...
  11. Actually, the road game in ULAR concerns me more than the home game against WKU.
  12. A majority of folks (55%) think we'll win 5 or more games to close out the season.... I am actually pleasantly surprised.... the mood of the basketball forum has been understandably grumpy since our 3 losses in a row.... I'm glad to see that some still believe we get back to our winning ways.... And the USA win was a great start....
  13. Admins... please do not move if possible. Please come out and support the Mean Green men and women basketball team tonight. Mean Green men are coming off a huge, and much needed, upset win over first place South Alabama. The women tip off at 4:35 and the men at 7:05pm. See y'all out there tonight!
  14. My guess is the lapse was related to the flu that hit everyone hard including the announcers....
  15. I don't know if you recall... but I posted a thread toward the start of the season, saying that I intentionally stood next to White after a game and estimated his height at 5'7" to 5'8".
  16. JJ said on the post-game show that they expected Willingham to only need a couple of days to recover and then he'd be back... my guess is that he is doubtful for Saturday even if he is feeling better... we are deep in the guard rotation so their is no reason to rush or risk his return....
  17. Any comments? I am very interested to here other opinions about this.....
  18. Just watched the 1/30/08 edition of Mean Green Insider. A good portion of the show is dedicated to Mean Green men's basketball. The show starts with an interview with JJ. JJ makes an interesting comment, knowing now that we beat USA, saying that he expects the fans to be treated to a near completely healthy (minus Wooden) Mean Green team for Thursday's game. A few other tidbits.... at around 7:00 there is a video replay of Stewart's famed windmill dunk against OSU. At around 17:00, there is a good interview with Josh White. He talks about the recruiting process and how he expected to end up at USC or Florida.... but ends the interview saying how happy he is that he signed with UNT... White also says that JJ is a great recruiter and that he believes JJ will keep top notch players coming to UNT for years to come.....
  19. how funny is that... while Quoner posted, I was typing I bet we'll hear from Quoner on this.....
  20. I'm sure we'll hear from Quoner on your statement....
  21. I like this version better since we have the better overall record than Denver: UALR 6-4 North Texas 5-5 Denver 5-5 ULL 5-5
  22. One thing that hasn't been mentioned... the referees... was it me, or did they call an extremely tight game....we are so revved up in the Pit Crew that every call is a bad call, except those against the opponent, in our eyes...... I can't say it was bad officiating, though I didn't like many calls... admittedly, there was often contact when they called a foul, but it was very ticky-tack kind of stuff... and they called it on both teams... these were the kind of fouls you can call on every single possession for each team... And it appeared that the officials got stuck in a loop where they thought, I called a ticky tack foul on USA, now UNT needs one, and now that I called a ticky tack on UNT, USA needs one.... you get my drift. Any comments about the officiating from folks that watched it on TV or listen to the game?
