If You're An Smu Fan, Now, How Do You Love

Rice is an excellent example that a program CAN turn around in one year..... We are not talking about DD here, we are talking about TD. Also... if you have followed SLC at all they are not ALL offense. Their offence is just able to capitalize on all of the mistakes that their DEFENSE forces their opponents into. We already have a decent defence and TD will also make that even better. Hold on 'Stangs --- A North Texas Dodge Hemi is going to try to run you down next year!! -

Wow... a coach that makes adjustments based on their opponent... Just another thing we will have to get used to! -
Ah... but they will my friend... they will!!!

All green helmets, solid kelly green with nothing on them -- black cage. The black cage on the darker green looked funny, but with the lighter green the black will be more "MEAN" than a white cage. As far a stripe.... howbout a tripple stripe White in the middle with black on the sides -- I'll photoshop something and post it tomorrow.

After all of that it's no wonder that family is so important to him. Which includes his football "family."

Start Promoting A Fouts Field "GREEN OUT" For TD's
GreenBlooded1 replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
No offense, but you gentlemen don't have the inside scoop on the uniform colors.... No men (except the coaches and players) were invited to last years "Football 101" for women fans only. I definitely don't need to "learn" about football as I live, sleep, eat and breath it... But it was a worthy donation to the program and a chance to mingle with team. We were told in that meeting that they didn't get their order for the Kelly uniforms in early enough to have the color change last year when the helmet logo changed. Apparently there is about a 9 month lead time to be able to completely change uniforms. I don't know anything about the helmet logo this year, but if you were at or watched the press conference.... the backdrop behind the podium....THAT is the Kelly green that will be on us next year. Also, if youv'e been past the stadium there is one lone concession stand that you can see from the highway that is already painted in the new color. Just wear green baby!!! Fouts Green Outs -- has a nice ring!! -
Agreed!! Go Mean, Go Green, Go Dodge!!!
-
AWESOME I'm in.... Let's all do the same!!! Advertise for UNT, Dodge and GMG.com!!
-
True, point taken..... Not to get gushy or anything, I'd just like to see UNT have the tradition in reality that I see in my GreenBlooded heart....... To have someone who would stay and really develop a winning tradition over a decade or more.

If hired and super sucessful here, wouldn't Dodge want to move on to a BCS school in just a matter of years?

Cobbs (Officially) in Dolphins Lineup
GreenBlooded1 replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Football
Go Patrick!!! I am a Jags fan and look what Jones-Drew is doing for us... Rushing attempts: 90 / yards per carry: 454 / avg: 5.0 / TD's: 6 Reciving attempts: 32 / yards per reception: 317 / avg: 9.9 / TD's: 2 Return attempts: 21 / yards per return: 521 / avg: 24.8 / TD's: 0 Pat is similar size (Cobbs: 5'9" 210lbs / Jones-Drew: 5'7" 212 lbs) and speed and should have been given more of a chance from the beginning. Jags have 3rd ranked run defense so IF Patrick gets the chance and can do something today, that should make quite a statement. I my Jags but and have their D in my fantasy league, but -- RUN PATRICK, RUN!!! -
Worst Ever GMG.com Poll II: If You Were One of the

Even moving from NJ or where ever this imaginary fan is from, if they were REAL football fans, they would have heard of Southlake! Remember that Southlake has been ranked in the top 5 HS football programs IN THE COUNTRY in the past 5 or more years. We aren't talking about a coach from a 2A school. We are talking about a nationally ranked program that has played games on ESPN for the last 3 years!! Dodge would be able to bring in good players, which will result in more wins, which will result in more butts in the stands, which will result in more money for the program, which will result in a new stadium, which will result in even better recruiting which will result in even more wins leading to more fans and on and on. I say.... Let the cycle begin NOW!!!!! -
Ricks right... leave tradition alone... This is North Texas' thing, not anyone elses (which is more than we can say for the tortillas!!)
-
Why? Oh why has no one mentioned the an obvious choice........ FWIW.... I'd pick MEAN JOE GREEN!!!! I know that he is 60, but he has the big three: 1. HE'S A WINNER!! 2. NAME RECOGNITION!! 3. TEXAS TIES -- He IS the Mean Green for gosh sakes!! Now I know that we need offense, but remember North Texas has always been about the defense... what HS defensive player in his right mind anywhere in the country, wouldn't want to be coached by one of the best defensive players in history?!?!?!
-
Yes truely a bittersweet time. Dicky has been one of the driving forces that has gotten this program what little recognition it HAS gotten in recent years. It is unfortunate that the timing of this couldn't have been better. I pray for DD, his family and his future. Where ever you go and in whatever you do..... May the Lord bless and keep you..... go get 'em coach! We'll never forget you!!
-
The guys really fed on the crowd at home against SMU, I don't see them pulling out wins on the road... Maybe Tulsa, but not Akron... the Zips are tough and even tougher at home.
-
Perhaps he is learning from his mistakes. You have to remember that last year, Meager was just a freshman and under the circumstances didn't really do all that bad. Also, he SUPPOSEDLY had a great camp till his concussion. Even to be an effective backup, he needs to see some actual game speed action which can not be simulated during practice. I wouldn't be suprised to see Woody start, then have DM come in for a series or two in the first quarter. Then El Presidente can finish out the game having enough time to work his magic. If it becomes a blow-out (either way) another QB should be brought in just to save WW from punishment and possible injury.
-
White looks good but they still need a simple green stripe down the leg. Did anyone see Marshall's uniforms... If that is the green we are going to be switching too, I am going to puke!! Keep the dark green and white it is much more agressive and classy!
-
Woody can run when needed.... he can pass ACCURATELY on the run... he has much more confidence and is more calm under pressure. He definitely should be "The Man" this year. His hook-up with BJ in the endzone after that rollout to afford himself a passing lane was classic!! However he does need to learn to protect the rock!

GRRRREEEEEEENNNNNNNN!!!!!! Hey it's a 6pm game it won't be that hot. If you just can't handle the heat, you can get one of those vests like UT had!

Adrian Awasom waived by the Giants. In concentrating on the game yesterday did anyone else notice that this happened? http://www.giants.com/news/eisen/story.asp?story_id=18153
