  1. ha i was there the other day picking up a "pizza lista" and i saw their sign that said Acceptamos pesos and was thinkin that was kind of odd
  2. if a stadium is built in Sanger I will boycott the NT football team and never attend a game.. Screw sanger!
  3. when do they plan on breaking ground on this new stadium? or are u guys just speculating based off of rumors made 2 years ago
  4. ya this years Gainesville team was a bit disappointing, but this was their first year under a new coach, and they had a young team.. they should be better next year. 3 D-1 prospects?I know McBath, Brown, and ?Newberry?.. Maybe Dodge can find Terrius Purvey and talk him into playin for us
  5. Here is what espn.com recruit tracker has to say about him: Dominique Buchanan ILB | 6'2" 230 Hometown: Gilmer, TX School: Gilmer High School Region: Plains Status: Verbal School: Baylor You are signed into Insider and have access to the exclusive recruiting content below. Last Updated: 8/20/2006 Scouts Grade: 79 Position Rank: ILB #9 <-- thats 9th best in the country @ his position Evaluation: Buchanan has a nice combination of size and ability. He is athletic enough to slip blocks and make plays, but he also has the size to take on blocks and mix it up between the tackles. He does a good job locating the ball and getting to it. He has good lateral mobility and displays some ability to sidestep blocks. He plays square to the line of scrimmage. He displays good patience and can step up and make a play in the hole. He has good feet and balance and does a nice job of keeping blockers off his legs and staying on his feet. He can get over the top of blocks and quickly downhill. He will take shallow angles but runs well and has long arms to reel in ball carriers. He takes on blocks well and quickly sheds. He is a solid tackler who can make plays in space. He will dip his head at times but is also capable of laying bone-jarring hits. He runs well for his size and can be a sideline-to-sideline player. He shows enough burst off the edge to pressure the quarterback and has the body lean to turn the corner. He can be dangerous blitzing up the middle because he hits seams hard. He displays the ability to time the snap well and also comes with enough power to push blockers back. He is adequate in his pass drops and can a bit stiff in the hips. He does good job of reading the quarterback's eyes and getting into passing lanes. He has good hands and can make a play on the ball when the opportunity is there. Buchanan is good and should continue to improve.
  6. Sweet good to see a coach going up to GainEsville to recruit, there has been ALOT of talent up there that UNT has missed out on the passed 5 years, but I don't get how he gets West Texas and just GainEsville? kinda different locations
  7. w/ out looking i'm pretty sure Tune is from Celina, the Higgs brothers are from sanger tho
  8. good point, all i'm saying is i've seen tre play twice in person and he didn't impress me, ya he has the numbers but those don't always tell the story.. Tre has a good chance to go on and have a great college career, but i believe he may have trouble seeing time if he went to a big school like UT.. He is only a junior now though, i'm sure next year he will comeback even better
  9. none, but I never claimed to be too good for UNT either
  10. it looks like the McElroy rumors got put to rest pretty quick
  11. its like Taurean Henderson, he had some great numbers in college at texas tech under the spread offense, but where is he now? the falcons practice squad.. sweet
  12. ya i take it back for that game he showed up, but i went to their game against trinity, and he would tippy toe up to the line and often end up down in the backfield, if not for Riley, SLC would have been done early.. I also got to see him earlier this year against lewisville, granted he had around 100 yards rushing, but he often had a hole that you could drive a truck thru. I remember one play inparticular when he got thru the line and only had the safety to beat, this safety was prolly about 5'9" 160 Lbs soaking wet. Newton tried making a move and the safety just stood there as newton then lowered his head to try to truck stick him, but newton ended up on his back.. that why i'm not so sold on Newton
  13. he was the back up to Chase Daniel at SLC, and started his senior year passing for 4600 yards, 56 tds, and 9 ints, he is 6'2" 212 lbs, and 3.9 GPA.. ya i doubt he is coming but i'm not sure who else the SLC fans would be claiming they "know" is going to transfer
  14. he was rated a 73 on NCAA!! woo hoo.. wait i think thats what Daniel Meager was rated too
  15. tre newton is overrated.. if not for the threat of the deep ball that SLC poses every player Newton couldn't get out of the backfield, everytime i've seen him play he has trouble breaking arm tackles
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if it were McElroy they were talking about, sure Saban is the head coach there and there is probably alot of allure in that, but he is listed as their 3rd QB, and their starter last year was just a Sophmore. him being stuck behind 2 other QBs for the next 3 years, plus having to learn a new system might make him want to come to NT where he could step in and become the starter while already knowing the offensive system.. While I think the original post was made by someone who was just trying to get a reaction on that other board, I think if top QB were to transfer here it most likely would be McElroy
  17. they did call us Eagles tho right before that
  18. occurding to rivals.com we havn't in the past 4 years atleast.. the highest we have had were 3 stars and they were Ron Veal (2002), Charles DuPree (2003), Michael Pruitt (2003), T.J. Covington (2004), Jamario Thomas (2004), and Willie Ransom (2005)
  19. maybe he will be kicked off the team and transfer to NT
  20. here is a story that came out about him in october that has some info about him.. he must have shrunk over the break -------------- Colleyville(Texas)Heritage receiver Breece Johnson is a player many opposing teams the Panthers face know about, but yet not many colleges have taken notice of the talented play maker who's been flying under the radar. After a stellar performance at the Texas 7-on-7 tournament in which he was named the tourney's MVP, many felt he would continue terrorizing defenses during his senior year and he has done just that. Johnson, 6-foot-2, 190 pounds with 4.4 speed currently leads the DFW area in receiving with 52 receptions for 836 yards and 14 scores, while helping his team to a 5-2 record. Although his stats are impressive, Johnson doesn't hold an offer to date but is getting interest from North Texas, Colorado St., Iowa, and Utah. "Those are the schools that have called and sent letters," he said. "I don't have any favorites." One team Johnson says he wouldn't mind hearing from is TCU since is just a short drive away. "I haven't heard anything from them, nothing at all," he said. "I would have an interest in them if they were to start showing me some interest." Johnson, who is in his second year as a starter says he's been happy with his performance this year. "The season has been going real good," he said. "I've done better than I expected I would." Johnson is set to visit one of the schools showing him interest in the near future. "I'm going up to UNT next week," he said. "I'm going up there to look around and get to meet all the coaches."
  21. i'm not saying we can't get a good coach to come here because we are north texas, I think North texas athletics has a very bright future, something no coaching prospect can deny.. I'm saying we might not find a good coach to come here because there are not alot of them available
  22. I like what JJ has done recruiting, he hasn't disappointed there, but these tough losses in conferece arn't acceptable, but that being said, we should see how the rest of the season pans out before handing him his pink slip.. I think the firing of Dickey has everyone thinking if we fire JJ we can ge another "todd dodge" at basketball.. Well I have news for those people, there is no Todd Dodge available for the basketball team, who do you guys suggest we hire at the end of the season that will do a better job than jj?
  23. no, there are only in 'n outs in California, Arizona, and Las Vegas.. gotta love their "secret sauce" and low cholesterol fries
  24. I thought he just smoked pot?
  25. no the cowboys suck, i'm goin w/ the seahawks on this one.. They made it to the superbowl last season, and the cowboys havn't even won a playoff games in 10 years, its hard to see them pulling this one out
