I think this team is better.. Wooden is better this year then last.. We are deeper than last year.. I miss C-Wat, but he could be streaky at times.. I think Sturns would turn the ball over enough to help this years team win..

I see the similarities, but I hope we don't ever turn into a one man show like New Orleans is

Sam Roberson has the size and athletic ability to dominate any defender in the sun belt.. I think he will figure into the mix a lot more next year than most anticipate..

i'm sure the people at liberty university are just as excited to see Gado possibly play as we are for Cobbs

I was at the game, but I don't blame people for not going, 35 degrees in the pouring rain, for a 1-9 team, while more than half of the students were still gone for the holiday.. come on people were you guys really expecting a sell out!? Please get rid of these "better than thou" attitudes because you were able to sit thru what has to be one of the most miserable games (weather wise) I have ever attended, those drive away fans and recruits more then the low attendance did..

ya good game for western kentucky anyways.. Gonzaga has only lost 1 game ever at their current arena, and we think its hard to win at UTA

Western Kentucky hanging close w/ #14 Gonzaga at halftime.. we'll see how this ends up.. would be a big win for the sun belt no doubt

your team won, no doubt, and you have a very good team down there, they are something to be proud of... I just think most of us believe we were with out one of, if not our best, scorer the other night.. With him things might have been alittle different, who knows.. in the grand scheme of things, this game means nothing to either team.. great win and good luck with the rest of the season, I look forward to following UTA and seeing how your season works out

we got screwed by a bad call at the end of the game 2 years ago when a basket shouldn't have counted.. and this year there are no excuses, but I think if we played them in our place it would have been a different story.. Texas Hall is a horrible place for basketball period... I wouldn't say that we wouldn't win the southland, I think we would be at the top and have a very good chance to win the southland.. but finally I think this thread and the people who replied to it were mainly dissing UTA's basketball "arena" more then they were UTA's team

I hate to break it to you, but the box score you are looking at is from the UALR game, and that was in Arkansas, not Texas Hall.. and I'm sure 400 people can make a high school auditorium sound loud..

thats a good crowd for UTA.. they normally average roughly 400.. I would say half of the 1200 were UNT fans tho.. if you think our attendance is bad, you would wonder how and why UTA still has an athletic program.. nobody there cares

its never easy to win on the road in college basketball.. UTA has a good team this year.. we will bounce back

College hoops 2k8 was released yesterday, and they gave us the 2nd worse rating (overall: 70) of all Sun Belt teams.. Western Kentucky is the highest rated team of sunbelt schools with a whopping 78.. I don't yet own the game but looked over teams at my friend's house, so I can't give too much detail on how our team is rated..

you know it is too early to put any stock into these things when UTA is ranked 65

good post, sorry for jumping on you so quickly.. I just remember the naysayers from last year.. I'm very excited about this team, coming into the season I was concerned about the loss of Watson, and Davis, but out the gate we appear to be even better than last year.. I know its early in the season, and prolly too soon to make that judgment but I see big things for this team.. again my apologies for my comments..
