The $mut phonies are a bunch of losers.. They will stay in the bottom 10 all year like they deserve. That is just fact. They can have their fake sold out game in which they almost lost to a bowl sub division team.. thats laughable.. We beat a real division-1 team so nananananana a boo boo! $2 million for June Jones?? HAHA What fools.

Local newspapers are going strong though. Also Belo's stock is nearly five times what it was back in March and I really don't know much about the stock market but I think that is pretty good and shows that things might be looking up for them. Its true that the internet has hurt newspapers dramatically. Newspapers now are scrambling to find ways to make money off the internet.. Internet ads alone aren't enough to pay for a newsroom so look for newspapers to start trying new things soon to make money off the internet (ie charging for its content, special content, more multimedia, stuff of that nature.) That being said, before I got my current job, I sent the Star Telegram an e-mail essentially telling them that I would cover UNT for free just to have a byline in their newspaper but never got a response. I have a degree in journalism from UNT and was Sports Editor at the NT Daily so its not like I'm just a bum off the street. I'm sure the Star Telegram will end up being fine and they will do what they can to get UNT coverage when the right opportunities come along but don't expect it to be like any thing you're used to.

I'll tell you from experience that everyone in the media that covers North Texas athletics reads this message board, that includes the athletic department. No matter if it is the NT Daily or Brett Vito, they know that they have to follow this message board or they are not doing their jobs right. For the media this message board provides story ideas, tips, and feedback for the work they are doing. As for the athletic department, they follow this site as much as anybody, so don't let Mr. Capper's blog post fool you. I've been to practices and games where I have seen people who work for the athletic department reading posts on here during breaks. I've also had people who work in the athletic department ask me if I'm "Keith7" on this site. Heck the athletic director has his own gmg.com account, so you can't tell me they don't care what the people on this site think. Personally, I think a lot of you took Capper's blog post the wrong way, it wasn't an attack on the message board or its posters, but an attempt to help those of you who have complaints find a better outlet to fix your problems. You can complain on here all day long and it might get read by the athletic department, it might not, but if you go directly to the source, you will know for sure that they get your complaints and most of the time give you an answer to your problems, that is all he was saying. The fact that he offers up his e-mail address and office number is proof of that.
