Ben Gooding for QB/Defensive coordinator. We can save either money or a scholarship by having him do both.

What does everyone think of the Spread Offense

We need to pass to our tight ends mores. That's always the answer, right? -

Obviously Ben Gooding did something wrong this week. Why isn't he starting yet? -
No, San Antonio is No. 1. Frisco isn't on the list.

Attention any/all high school quarterbacks

You guys know we have a kid who could sling the ball around a little bit in high school on the basketball team. Todd Eaglin - As a senior at The Woodlands Christian Academy, he threw for 3,489 yards and 38 touchdowns, while also running for 1,079 yards and 17 more scores. -
In the end it all boils down to recruiting defensive line

We need to throw to the tight ends more. Isn't that the solution this board usually turns to? -
MGB: Breaking news -- JUCO CB plans to decommit
Keith7 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
This is today's college football. Schools have all the power. Every school does this. The kid even said that he understands UNT's position. -
great insight to attendance woes in college football

There was a buzz about Dodge the first year and we brought in some non-conference opponents that would bring fan bases (Navy, Army, Kansas State - heck Rice and Tulsa brought some good crowds). I think that helped the Fouts numbers a lot. -
I think we should look into buying our way out of the SMU series. We really don't have anything to gain by playing them every year.
-
My first year at UNT, and Dickey's last, I swear 1/4 of the offense were screen passes to Johnny Quinn.

I kind of wondered the same thing. Here is the exact quote: “We knew they were going to blitz us, we didn’t know that they were going to blitz us like they did,” Greer said. “I think in the first half they said they blitzed us 26 out of 28 plays in the half, and so I guess we could’ve protected that and worked more on that.” It was in the NT Daily's game story. http://ntdaily.com/mean-green-drops-season-opener-to-texas/

Well expanding on that quote, he goes on to say that they weren't prepared for that. I'm sure this week there will be a lot of emphasis on blitz protections and hot routes.

Baylor is getting a lot of pressure bringing 3 or 4 guys at a time. SMU's line sucks.
-
Deon Sanders kid had a giant hole to run through on that punt return. I coulda returned that punt 50 yards.

That brick on the sideline walls at the new Baylor Stadium sure is fancy.

Baptists vs. Methodists

Yea the first time his elbow hit. It didn't show a replay the second time.
-
Oh he is. And he's pretty quick. Just seems like a weird fit to me. He's not your typical June Jones QB.
-
I saw Matt Davis a lot in high school. I don't think he has the arm to run the SMU offense effectively.
-
I see your point but that's the pose that young athletes like to do for these photos. No smile, arms off to the side, Eli Manning face.

Lots of great memories in the old Union. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one looks when it is finished. -
