Their games coincide with the Rangers?

I can't wait to see the alternate black jerseys

People here need a scape goat for why our attendance is so bad. Is it apathetic students/alumni? A bad football team? Undesirable opponents? Couldn't be. I mean that would make us look bad, right? Is it those damn Rangers? Bingo. It's not our fault. It will be interesting what people will come up with after the Rangers win the World Series and our attendance is still poor.

They just got his college wrong.

First Year Head Coach Wins Again At Ark St
Keith7 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
The UNT cycle of football coaches: 1. Coach is hired 2. Fans claim he's the right guy for the job 3. Coach loses 4. Fans make excuses 5. Coach gets fired 6. Same fans say "I told you so." 7. Repeat cycle -
The "eyes of North Texas" bit is way too ut for my liking. I hope this shirt doesn't catch on for that reason alone.

Once Again The Loyal Customers Take it Up The Rear

I got four of my buddies to commit with the new time. We're back to +1. -
So six less people can't go from gmg.com but maybe 5,000 everyday fans will be willing to go. Seems like this is a smart gamble by the AD.

We throw to the TE as much as any of the top 5 teams in the country was the point I was trying to make. I don't understand how we can make him any more involved without actually handing the ball off to him.
-
We have a tight end. He is used. In fact he has accounted for six percent of all receptions this season. Compare that to the other TEs I posted. Add in his drops (I can think three off the top of my head) and the skipped DT passes and his reception percentage would likely be higher than any of the other TEs I posted about. I'm telling you guys. The problem is the young, inexperienced and often undersized offensive line. If they open holes for Dunbar or don't have DT scared crapless then tight ends wouldn't even be an issue. Also, the TE you guys want to start throwing to so much had TWO receptions all season at his junior college last year. I know he is a three star recruit and there were a lot of expectations for him but I just don't think he is the type of player you guys are expecting.

Yea because we are an NFL team and Andrew Power is a Pro Bowl caliber TE. Great point.

Unbelievable- Benson Still Talking UNT/ULL

I understand why you guys don't want to go to the WAC now. But why are you guys salivating over the MWC? If Boise State leaves it will be nothing but the WAC 2.0. We are still flying out to Hawaii, Nevada, Fresno, Wyoming, Colorado State, New Mexico. Wasn't the time of games and travel costs a big reason why we decided the old WAC was a bad idea? -
I don't understand why so many people on here have an obsession with getting the tight end involved in the passing game. I don't know how many times this season I've seen Thompson bounce a throw to Powers or the ball hit Powers in the hands only to bounce right off. It seems the team is trying to get the TE involved, but the key components just are not cooperating. That being said, I began to wonder how important a TE is to some of the nation's top teams. The answer I came up with? Not very. Well, with the exception for Wisconsin, whose TE is their third leading receiver. Here is a breakdown of what I found: Bama – Michael Williams: 10 receptions, 152 yards, 2 touchdowns; fourth leading receiver. Seven percent of team’s receptions. LSU – Deangelo Peterson: 11 receptions, 125 yards, 1 touchdown; fourth leading receiver. Eleven percent of team’s receptions. Oklahoma – James Hanna: 10 receptions, 111 yards, 1 touchdown; fifth leading receiver. Five percent of team’s receptions Boise State – Gabe Linehan: 12 receptions, 158 yards, 2 touchdowns; fifth leading receiver. Eight percent of team’s receptions. It seems a TE is nothing but an after thought for the nation's top teams. These guys are averaging three to four receptions per game. So why would forcing passes our JUCO tight end be the difference in our offense? Right now our leading receiver is Dunbar. Looking at the stats, we should be complaining about not throwing it to our wide receivers -- not whining about not throwing it to our catching challenged tight end.

McNulty is the back up quarterback. Why is that so hard to understand?
-
Yea, how dare JJ keep out the 10 people that would have shown up to see the team run the three man weave. What was he thinking?
-
The whole broadcast was atrocious not just the announcers.
-
I put a lot of blame on the offensive line. Dunbar never has any hole. Thompson gets happy feet in an ever-collapsing pocket. Those things don't add up to a lot of offense.

IRVING, Texas/COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West Conference and Conference USA have unanimously come to an agreement in principle to consolidate their member football programs into one large association. Commissioners of the two leagues formulated this creative and innovative plan with the support of the presidents, chancellors and athletics directors. The 12 members of Conference USA and 10 football‐playing members of the Mountain West will join forces for this strategic landmark in college football. “The role of a conference is to provide its members with the best possible environment in which to conduct their intercollegiate athletics programs,” said Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson. “Rather than await changes in membership due to realignment, it became clear the best way to serve our institutions was to pursue an original concept. The Mountain West and C‐USA share a number of similarities, and the creative merger of our football assets firmly positions our respective members for the future.” “The potential of this association is very exciting,” Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky said. “By taking an innovative approach, we feel we can offer tremendous opportunities for exposure and stability without breaking up the regional rivalries that truly make up the college football tradition.” UNLV President and Mountain West Board of Directors Chair Neal Smatresk said, “In an era of uncertainty in intercollegiate athletics, this collaborative partnership with C‐USA lends stability and credibility to our collective football enterprise. We are excited about the prospect of having teams in five time zones and the many possibilities created by this extremely bold and proactive step.” Conference USA Board of Directors Chair and Tulane president Scott Cowen said, “We are very pleased to be moving forward with the Mountain West Conference on this high potential, unique partnership. Together, we will better position our conferences and member universities for the future with its appeal and its reach across the United States.” The current 22 members are located in 16 different states, offering a prospective 16‐hour window for competition. Conference USA has existing television partnerships with Fox Sports and CBS Sports, as well as ESPN for its championship game. The Mountain West has partnerships with CBS Sports and Comcast/NBC Universal. The two conferences will merge into a separate football‐only entity without affecting their status within the NCAA structure.
