  1. The Play
  2. I've been thinking about the TV revenue argument. Can the Big 12 really claim to have the DFW market in terms of contract revenues? A&M is leaving, and Texas games that aren't nationally televised are going to the Longhorn network.
  3. I think all of us need to post as many comments as we can on DRC. This is an opportunity to try to get the local residents involved. Be firm, but supportive. Nothing is gained by being negative any longer. Write letters to the editor at DRC. Make it know that, yes there is a growing support structure here and it's time for everyone to get on board.
  4. Praise FSM! Arrrrr!

  9. At the end of the day, it's all about TV revenues. SMU won't pull them in, and neither will we. Notre Dame is the brass ring, but I don't see them giving up their independence until they absolutely have to. BYU, IMHO, is the most likely candidate. Of course, if the B12 is looking to get back to 12 then that opens things up a bit. Can they pick off some teams that are already in AQ conferences? Definitely 1. Probably 2. I don't know about 3.
  10. Well, there's our football link.
  11. They sold 10,000 season tickets
  12. Just going out on the limb, but I'm guessing it has something to do with government's tendency to tell us what we should be eating. San Francisco banning happy meals, the feds withholding funds from schools that do not comply with new nutrition rules, and NYC banning trans-fat foods... just to name a few. And I agree, this belongs in the Pie forum.
  13. The owner of the site is an SMU alum who lives in Highland Park. He has done crisis consulting and is involved in minor sports-related enterprises.
  14. Lawsuits are certain, and that may slow down the train wreck and let people think a little more sensibly.

  17. Now he's a sleaze bag with $100 million. Way to go, America.
  18. We let the practice squad play the last 5 minutes.
  19. Kram, not every season ticket holder visits this board or reads UNT's facebook page. And I don't think all questions have been answered. One message that came out says you can tailgate starting Saturday morning, another says it starts Friday night. The policy posted on the website says the lots won't open until 8 am, but the Facebook page says you can park overnight in your assigned lot. Also just heard today that you cannot drop off items at the hill less than 4 1/2 hours before the game. That may surprise some people who want to set up camp there. Still a lot of questions, and we have one chance to win some new fans for the first game. To just assume it will be a cluster and that it will all work out after 3 games or so seems, to me, like a jacked up way to do thing. Put out as much information as you can as early as you can to as many people as you can. That's what "BIG TIME" programs do.

  21. Working stiffs who want to be able to travel.
  22. The scheduling issue has its downsides as well. You don't have a conference guarantee of 8 games a season.
