  1. I believe this league went as high as 15 years old. And yes, absolutely charge the kid with a felony. That's exactly what he committed.
  2. Join the Navy, see the world.
  3. Why list TCU as "in limbo?" They are going to a BCS conference that may be ready to pounce on Kansas and Kansas State.
  4. The article points out that every team leaving would pay an exit fee, roughly $20 million. And that the exit fee money could be distributed to schools that join. Also, there is still a TV contract in place for several more years. Whether the makeup of the conference changes or not, ESPN and ABC have to pay the Big 12 that contract. The BCS money will continue to flow in for at least 3 more years. In short, there is still a ton of money coming into the Big 12 if they can maintain the minimum number of members.
  5. The comments on DRC usually come from about a dozen people who complain about EVERYTHING. They are uninformed about how the stadium was financed, the historic increase in our attendance, and the college football scene in general.
  6. Just to follow up, three of the coaches and the player that made the flying tackle were all arrested. All four have been charged with felony battery on a sports official and the team has been ejected from the league.
  7. The highly coveted No. 5 spot is right on.
  8. Not initially, but with the infusion of money we're talking about all of these times can quickly upgrade their programs.
  9. I'm LOVING this last minute ticket scramble!
  10. It's a good idea. I especially like the point about exit fees. They could be used to prop up incoming programs. Imagine if 5 teams left x $20 million in exit fees. That's a big pie to divide up.
  11. The assumption is that they go Big East. The Big 12 will need to be on its deathbed for us to get an invite, but I would join this league even if UTSA and TSU-SM join
  12. And it looks like BYU is the favorite target of the Big 12 if A&M leaves.
  13. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/6939017/texas-aggies-accepted-sec-legal-threat-delays-move Texas A&M's move to the SEC ultimately would happen if Oklahoma stays put in the Big 12, but until that occurs eight of the remaining nine Big 12 schools will not waive their right to pursue litigation against the SEC and A&M, a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com. During Wednesday's call, the source said Texas A&M president R. Bowen Loftin asked if the schools would waive their right to litigation and only one -- Oklahoma -- agreed to do so.
  14. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/college-sports/headlines/20110907-texas-am-president-we-are-being-held-hostage-right-now.ece COLLEGE STATION -- The Big 12 erupted in infighting Wednesday, with Texas A&M angrily accusing the commissioner of going back on his word and suggesting one of its fellow league schools was deliberately slowing its departure to the Southeastern Conference.
  15. I think the APR situation makes him able to transfer without sitting out.
  16. Shh. I was planning on doing this for basketball.
  17. Heh, clicking the deposit link on the page you linked to takes us to a page that says "No Events" Oh well.
  18. Yeah, but it shows you two things. One, there is an interest in Big 12 management to keep the conference going. Two, they're not starting at the bottom. Don't those people realize UTSA had over 50,000 for their first game?!?!
  19. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/6940972/school-was-approached-big-12 SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long said Wednesday that the school was approached recently about joining the Big 12. Long told The Associated Press that the Razorbacks are content to remain in the Southeastern Conference.
  20. Would anybody HERE have a problem with it? A few, but mostly "no." Would conference members have a problem with it. Most definitely, yes.
  21. Or this: Big 12 - Lone Star Division Baylor Houston SMU North Texas Rice UTEP Yeah, that's better.
  22. Big 12 - Foreigner Division Iowa State Kansas Kansas State Missouri Boise State Air Force Big 12 - Lone Star Division Baylor Houston SMU North Texas Texas State UTSA This is the only way I'd want to be in a conference TSUSM/UTSA.
  23. Exactly.
  24. They are already going to the WAC. We as a conference do not need UTSA or Texas State. Inviting them would weaken our conference. We should be picking teams out of the WAC that are already in FBS. Speaking of, we still don't know if the NCAA is even going to approve their move up. Why spend effort on such an endeavor when we can get NM State and LA Tech?
  25. We don't need FCS teams.
