Mac says they will wear the black uni's for the UTEP game!
UNTflyer replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Like. But I'd refer a white SOW. The black was tough to see on TV. My brother texted me asking WTF is that on the helmet? -
TCU is #76. Someone inform Tim McMahon

It's likely tickets will go on sale for season ticket holders before the teams are determined. Probably around Nov 25th.
-
No. Let's be clear, a trip to the Liberty Bowl and everything that comes with it (money, ESPN game, conference championship) is the best thing that could happen to us.

2007 when UCF played: Championship game details The Knights won't earn their place in it with out a win over UTEP Saturday, but priority order deadline for UCF season ticket holders is approaching for the C-USA title game on Dec. 1. Season ticket holders' window to order their maximum allotment of four tickets began Nov. 16 and will last through 5 p.m. Friday. Those who do not purchase their tickets during this window will not be guaranteed the same seats for the title game.

And in 2011: As of Tuesday, the Cougars had sold just over 17,000 tickets for the 32,000-seat venue, with part of the Golden Eagles' 3,000-ticket allotment still unreported.

Here's what happened in 2011 Conference USA and the University of Houston announced on Monday that tickets for Saturdays C-USA Championship Game are sold out. UH sold nearly 12,000 tickets within three hours of the teams 48-16 victory at Tulsa to clinch the West Division title. The remaining tickets were sold via the student allotment and 2011 season ticket holders. Season ticket locations not purchased by the current season ticket holder are being used to fill additional seat requests.

The tiebreaker goes to the team who has scored the most points since the last full moon.

Fox Sports 1 is an excellent product. The Camadian broadcast team on their highlight show...meh.

I think if ECU gets upset at least once, we'd then want ECU to beat Marshall. Then if we win out and Tulane loses to Rice, we're division champs we're guaranteed to host.

YEP....I will say it again; THIS MEAN GREEN CAN WIN CUSA!

Why would we turn down an almost $2 million bowl game played on ESPN on New Year's Eve as the C-USA Champion? -
Well, the possibility of a three-way tie is almost zero because Tulane and Rice will still play, so I guess now it's either Rice wins or Tulane loses in San Antonio.
-
We don't necessarily need Tulane to lose. 3-way tie goes to BCS rankings. Home field tiebraker for Championship is BCS rankings.

Now we control our destiny. Tulane's ranking will take a hit for this bad loss. Even if we all win out, I think we'll finish ahead of Tulane and Rice. But... GO RICE!!!

But keep in mind, the SEC does have a veto option in the Liberty bowl every two years. That's why Southern Miss went to Hawaii Bowl despite winning C-USA. http://www.minerrush.com/2011/12/5/2611969/bowling-time-liberty-disses-c-usa-houston-falls-to-ticket-city-bowl Perhaps the biggest bowl news today in the C-USA was the fact that the Liberty Bowl decided not to invite C-USA champion Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles would have been the 17th straight C-USA Champ to participate in the bowl. Despite the fact that USM is now ranked 21st in the AP Poll, the Liberty Bowl opted for a Big East vs. SEC matchup (Vanderbilt vs. Cincinnati). Iliana Limon of the Orlando Sentinel has a very informative blog post up on how the SEC muscled the C-USA Champ out of the game. In the Liberty Bowl’s defense, it has remained loyal to Conference USA for years. It’s refusal to drop C-USA and match an SEC team with a Big East team on a regular basis cost it valuable position within the SEC pecking order. The negotiations seemed to finally reach a breaking point two years ago, with the Liberty Bowl forced to agree to a complex contract that effectively gave the SEC veto power every two years.

Forgot the Armed Forces Bowl. Here are the tie-ins by final C-USA standings. It doesn't always work out this way, but typically the C-USA champ goes to Memphis and the runner-up goes to Honolulu. If we don't go to the championship game, very good shot of a local bowl by finishing #3 or #4. #1 The Liberty Bowl versus SEC #8. #2 The Hawai'i Bowl versus Mountain West #5. #3 The Armed Forces Bowl versus Mountain West #3. #4 The Heart of Dallas Bowl versus Big Ten #7 #5 The Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl [3] versus AAC #5. #6 The Military Bowl versus ACC #8. #7 The New Orleans Bowl versus Sun Belt #1.

Tulsa has beaten nobody close to good this year. Neither has UTSA.

In some ways, the way the endgame in basketball has evolved violates the spirit of the game. Today it's just standard strategy to intentionally foul when you're down by a couple possessions, hoping the opponent misses the foul shots and giving you a chance. I recall reading an article a couple of years ago with a suggestion that the answer to the endgame beat down is to give three free throws for intentional fouls with less than two minutes to play.

Let's just hope Mac sticks around for a few more years.

ok sorry, but I have an apogee complaint...

I'm annoyed that an event staffer told me I couldn't use my e-cigarette. At the fence behind the wing. In the back corner. 100 feet from a living soul.
