We do have a slight tendancy to complicate life. We also worry and churn way too much about stuff we cannot control. Somehow we need to lighten up and let this matter take its own course. Time will tell as they say. Oh, btw, I found some really good "chill pills" at my local pharmacy (not placebos). If anyone interested, let me know!! I also have unpredictable moments of uncontrollable laughter. Good stuff!!

That is clever and a great idea! I will pledge to buy at least three!!

What Do I Want To See In The Last Two Games?
football fan replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
Excellent point! -
Take the job if offered GP. They certainly will pay $2M plus a year. TCU has moved up in the world yes, but KS and the Big 12. Take it dude!!

I am not disappointed to see this news. When a coach pushes his team to keep the petal to the metal even in a blow out as they did to us this season, you just know that will come back to haunt them. "What goes around comes around". You just don't get away with that type of arrogance/lack of sportsmanship for long. See ya Ron. Enjoy your millions over the next several years while you are not working.

Very good point/analogy grad88. Clinton really lowered the bar on morals in this country. And he kept his job and even came out of it with glowing accolades. Clinton had more women under his desk than in his Cabinet. Came up with that one myself.

Wow people!! Amazing how many "perfect" UNT people/fans frequent this forum. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but look around at the walls of your house. They just look like brick. Although I have not seen your home, I feel safe in saying that you live in a "glass" house. Just like me and all 300+ million Americans in this Country. So none of you condemning/judging Burnette have EVER and I mean EVER had a racial thought, made a comment or laughed at hearing one? Give me a break people. Your reaction and comments are just as offensive as his. Please do not embarrass yourselves any further and ZIP IT.

If I Were A Freshman Or An Incoming Freshman....

quite an exchange there gents. do any of you even remember the original thread topic. don't peak! -
Daniel is total class. It is ashame that he has been treated the way he has by Dodge. To hang in and finish his college career says tons for his character. I have much empathy for him. Daniel, I am really proud of you know you will be a success in whatever you do after college.
-
I noticed that also. DeLoach was back with the players. Dodge was definitely on an island by himself. Interesting to say the least.

I can assure all of you that DD is loving every arse whipping Villareal is suffering through. He has nothing against the kids or Dodge but definitely no love lost for RV.

Bret Vito's Next Assignment Should Be Jumpin Off
football fan replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
I also detected some negativity in that DMN article by Vito. Almost appears as though he has a "bone to pick" with T. Dodge. Anybody know what is up? -
Yes, thank you Coach V for pushing to make the stadium a near future reality. It is a must and will take UNT athletics and university to the next level no doubt. Please ignore the naysayers as there will always be the vocal minority who can't see and believe in any dream. They prefer to be whiners and complainers no matter what the situation. Ignore them and stay the course. It can and will happen!!

Practice Notes, Riley Won't Be Backup Qb

You could be onto something! Brilliant! Losing "red-shirt" at UNT just does not make sense. -
This team IS headed in the right direction and all need to be patient as the DD cupboard was left lacking talent. BUT, I have to agree with the above. The first two games have shown us how far we still have to go. Even so, leaving Vizza in deep into the KSU game then having Tune handoff on 4 consecutive plays and then again leaving Vizza in till the last tic against TU leaves me questioning the thought process. Vizza is proven yes, but his playing style (Earl Campbell/Marion Barber contact mentality) greatly enhances his chances of getting dinged up at some point in this season. Why not give Tune and Meager some "meaningful" reps during these OOC arse whippings in preparation. So that when the time comes, we don't have to endure a "rust romoval/break in" phase. Admittedly, I have never been a coach but does anyone agree?

That is funny!! I had no idea that California had any affection for the "sooner" state. BTW, have you ever realized that the OU mascot is a reference to cheating? Kinda fitting. I am a UT grad and we refer to OU as our UT at Norman campus. Typically, 30-40% of their roster are Texans and if you look at their All-Americans over the years, it is closer to 50%. Again, what would they be w/o Texans?

God Bless the Okies. If it were not for Texans, no one would know the State existed.

Students Will Help Decide The Fate Of A New Unt Stadium
football fan replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Football
Group founder Joe McNulty of Allen said the university lacks evidence that new stadiums boost attendance or success. The current economy and a recent UNT tuition increase are also reasons to oppose a student-funded stadium Mr. McNulty & Ms. Sears, You say there is no proof that first class facilities boost attendance or success. Let me ask you this: how many of the top tier, successful D-1 football programs have poor, delapidated and inadequate facilities? NONE!! I guess that would be proof to some degree. I also encourage you to call the University of Texas Admissions office and ask them how a successful football program effects student interest/enrollment. Case in point: when UT won the National Championship in 2005, they had a significant spike in the number of enrollment applications the following fall semester. I know this a fact because my wife's cousin has worked in the UT Student Admissions office for 17+ years. Not to mention the revenue benefit for the entire athletic program (mens and womens), there is significant benefit academically. To name a few: increased student applications enables the school to upgrade incoming student quality, increase tuition, upgrade academic facilities, attract higher level of educators etc. At the end of the day, the percieved and real value of your education/diploma is improved. I truly believe this is a good thing. You are fortunate to now have a university president that understands this dynamic. Even if you hate football and never attend a game, you will benefit. How can you honestly and rationally disagree? -
4th And Long, 9 Minutes Left In The 3rd
football fan replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
TOTALLY AGREE!!! Over the last 7 minutes of the game, Prince kept the throttle on and kept trying to score all the way to 7 seconds left when they kicked the field goal. I don't care who the opponent, what the situation may be or any thing else, there is absolutely NO EXSCUSE for disrespecting an opponent. He treated the last 7 minutes as if it were a scrimmage. Total BS, total lack of class. In fact, Prince just insured his team of bad Karma for the 2008 season. This will come back to haunt him/team somewhere down this season's road. Mark my words! -

Correction, you can be on the "travel squad" and still preserve Redshirt as long as you don't play. -
Amen to that re: Daniel Meager! Total class in every respect!
-
Say what?
-
Not ideal due to track being located inside stadium. Otherwise, not any real detractions given where the program is now. Very easy to get to and parking easy also. Restroom upgrades last season were desperately needed. Once we win, upgrade conference and opponents then yes, we will definitely need to improve our act.

Unt Well Represented In All Star Game
football fan replied to H-towngreen's topic in Mean Green Football
yes, it is a benefit of the position to give your children preferential treatment/privileges over the other kids. given the pay and exhaustive hours HS coaches invest, I understand that this happens.
