The 8 and 7 he averaged could be a double double if he had 5-7 more minutes. That's assuming he only got about 20 minutes/game coming off the bench (apparently they don't track min/game on their website). The stat I was "concerned" about was the .29 blocks/game. Figured a player like him would average at least 2 a game in juco. Also, he didn't average 2 assists, but only .39 according to their website. I see he had qualifying issues coming out of school, I hope that isn't an issue or Benford will have his hands full with jwill, jones and Coleman. All that being said...this signing makes my basketball weenie vibrate.

this is really good news! this will give coach benford a experienced head coach to bounce ideas off on the bench, which will make his learning curve a bit smaller. plus, we stole him from a big xii school! excellent news! i guess he's got one more hire to make to get his staff of 4?

I don't know about most of those schools situations, but I once heard a ex football player from rice on the ticket talk about the female situation on campus before. He said "you know how they say 9 out of 10 women in Texas are hot? Well those 10th ones goes to rice." And then said the guys on the team referred to rice as "the place where boners go to die.". From the ones I've seen I'd have to agree with him. So you might have them kind of high.

i think it plays a part, but a small part. after all, you see the pageantry for maybe 20 minutes of the 3 hours your there and that's if you get there early and don't go anywhere at half time.my wife is a huge fan of the half time show (dancers and band) and thinks they are very important to the game. my response is always, if they add so much to the game then why doesn't every team have them in the nfl? how much does it add to the brown's and redskin's games?that being said, even though it's a small part in my opinion, i wouldn't mind there being more of it. that's something that is actually in the schools control. however, i would prefer them start by playing better songs when they are in the stands before adjusting their entrance/half time show.

it shocked me too, but like i said she's hardly a sports person...like most of our students are hardly sports fans, so i would say 1/3 of the woman on campus would know all of or even most of those schools. that being said, you could probably poll the campus and only find 1/4 of the students know who paul mccartney and john lennon are.

i was showing my wife the new c-usa map last night and she had never heard of southern miss., marshall, e. carolina, uab, odu, unc-charlotte or tulane. granted, she's not even an average sports fan, but she watches college football (mostly tech games). so there will probably be quite a few students that fall in the same boat. i'm extremely excited about this move and think it will increase attendance, but not more than one or two thousand. the school and us alum need to continue to market the sports teams and recruit new fans.go mean green!

i think he said more than he was supposed to when talking about conference realignment. he didn't say much in the conference to wow me, but i liked the fact that there were aau coaches and high school coaches that he's friends with that attended. now he just needs to use those connections to get us a 4 and a 5.
