Abou officially enters transfer portal
Green Crazy replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
You mean the DRC and the NT Daily isn't quality or sufficient quantity? 😉 -
The thing is that this Mayor might care but the next one might not. We don't need the city to care, we need the citizens to care. If the constituents care the city will have to care. What Tylor was doing with visiting the schools plus our success on the court helps more than a mayor putting his interests in us. We want the people who live here to buy in. Maybe more community out reach and success on the court/field is the only way. Obviously, the city council and mayor's support helps but it won't fill up the arena.

No thanks. The thought of playing in an arena that we don't own doesn't sit right with me. Also, why would we have money in the budget for a new arena if we were considering this? Plus the student turnout would plummet like @Green Otaku said. Why not have the arena that the rodeos, conventions and events pay us to use?

Mean Green Get 26 Votes In Final Coaches' Poll!!!!!!!

FAU is too high. -
This isn't a parade worthy event. It's not. A while back someone posted a hypothetical topic on which would be better, a NIT Championship or a Sweet 16 run and I'm pretty sure avsweet 16 run was the clear favorite. Would we also have a parade for that? Also, no one would show up which would be cringe worthy and embarrassing. Now, if you wanted to cut the arena in half and have the team address only that side like it looked like Witchita St did, then maybe it wouldn't look so bad and I'd be on board. But what you don't want as an exclamation mark on a successful season is another poorly attended event reminding the players that they have a relatively small level of fan support. My honest opinion is they kicked the tires on a bigger event and something swayed them from doing it.
-
Honestly, this accomplishment, while I'm proud of and is something for the player's and fans to be proud of just isn't parade worthy. That being said, it also shouldn't be thrown into the middle of the day in the middle of the week either. What Witchita St. did was perfect, although I'm not sure our turnout would be as good.

Cr1028 gives the link to donate right there. If you want to complain about it not being promoted more, then I can get on board with that. But, even without seeing it on the site they mentioned it in multiple letters and or speaking events or I wouldn't have remembered.
-
This is ridiculous. It's not the first time I've heard it, so I'm not picking on you but I'm pretty sure I've heard on more than one occasion that small donations are more than welcome. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It's ridiculous to say they are trying to make it a "good ole boy's club", because I doubt the few big donors we have want to be the only ones carrying the load. If you have $50 or $100, then give it. Seriously, do we seem like a program that has so much money being thrown at them that they're being selective with where it comes from?

BOSS HODGE!!!
-
Any updates or general news?
-
No idea. Which makes me think we're nowhere worth mentioning by the Light the Tower Group. To my recollection, I thought they said we would hear a update back in October or November. Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems really bad. Not enough donations to even make a statement. Just another reason why Mac left.
-
Not really. I went back and watched the game and even in crunch time they didn't do much. Better than nothing though.
-
Boss Hodge!
-
I might have not been paying close enough attention prior to the speculation or maybe it was the ESPN+ coverage, but does it seem like Mac has been letting Hodge do more huddle coaching lately? I know he's always been active and coaching in the huddle, but recently it seems like it's happening more often. Almost like Mac is handing the team to him. This could be a perception thing and not true. Just curious if it was just me?

They were. I saw some that were at the CUSA tournament and the Alcorn St. Game.

So the UNLV band wore green and sat by our dancers? Weird.

That he was proud of him, said he's been successful everywhere he's been and he expected good things from him in the future. Then he talked about Baylor and the NCAA tournament.

If Grant takes the Texas Tech job…
Green Crazy replied to meangreenfaninno's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Yeah, that didn't help. Then he was missing practices and recruiting meetings also because of said relationship. -

He was gone regardless. This was set early in the season. -

No. But his wife played soccer for Tech. -
Maybe Tech will be scared off by our offense.

Like lifer said, the word is his agent and them have had "talks". Them being quiet about it makes me think it's at least a coach/assistant that's still playing. -
Grant Interview on Channel 4 Next
Green Crazy replied to Green Crazy's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Well, they did not tease that accurately. It was just a short segment on them playing tonight. Not bad, but not an interview. -
Grant will be interviewed on Good day after commercial.

Not to distract and I'm sure that this will bring the eye rolls, but the rumblings from people in the loop at Tech are getting louder. I have a friend who is right more than not when it comes to Tech and he says there has been discussions with Mac's agent at least and thinks that a win in stillwater will seal the deal. Maybe "seal the deal" is a full court press by them to get him, and not a for sure thing he leaves. Just passing this along. I'm hoping it's wrong.
