even though i don't care for most of the new uniforms, i get it, but this is different. i would even get crazy court designs (oregon), but this was just a poor job of picking a trendy, out of the box court. why would that court attract 18-19 year olds? it more of a setting for some couple closer to retirement age. nothing about that scene says kick ass...it looks like a screen saver.

that thing is hideous! dumbest thing since the red turf. looks like someone put basketball lines on a post card.

Good luck, Mr. Mitchell! Thanks for all you've done for the school/team!

money now is always better than money later. i think it makes more sense for him to go this year. from what i hear, this is supposed to be a somewhat weak draft and even if he were to improve with one more year in college, it might put him in the same area of the first round next year. plus, he's 21 this year i believe and would be 22 next year and each year he gets older the "potential" or "raw" factors means less and less. for selfish reasons i think he should stay, but it might make more sense for him to leave.

C-USA: Which newcomer will make the biggest impact?
Green Crazy replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
really? i'm not saying that we should of been chosen, but utsa? maybe mtsu or la tech, but not utsa. -
I think it's because you said he didn't "hustle at all". While he had some unforgivable moments in that game (the free throw f*** up being the worst), he had a good game and was a major reason that we were in it at the end. He took plays off for sure, but for most of the game he was hustling.

the team as a whole had a pretty big drop in apm (0.301 to 0.254) and everyone elses apm's dropped with the exception of cj and franklin. i just think it has more to do with benford's offensive ineptitudes than a reflection on jordan himself (it was a pretty big drop though). i'll just say let's agree to disagree. also, some of your numbers were off slightly. as far as him needing to improve on d, the boards and needing to mature, you're dead on.

i'm not arguing with what you're saying necessarily. his ability to develop players is suspect for sure, but i'm holding off until about 10-15 games into next season. as for the assist per game thing, well, the players you pass it to have to hit their shots. you could be making great passes, but if they aren't dropping for the players you're passing to then that's going to play a huge part in your assist numbers. last i checked, you only get an assist if the guy makes his shot. things that play into this...the defense your up against and how good a shooting team you are. also, the style of offense plays a part. an quick temp offense that puts up more shots will probably have more assist and vice versa. is your offense one that pounds it inside or is it a jump shooting team? these were just a couple of the obvious ones to me. do these not play a part in assist numbers?

There are a lot of factors that go into the apg. So, it's hard to say this is any gauge of his development.

A$M 400 Million Dollar Stadium Renovation
Green Crazy replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Just because you throw gmg after that shit doesn't make it ok. Take that to the tamu board. -
he also talked about getting guys in here that are committed to defense and that the guys on the team have to be committed to defense. also, that in his 44 years of coaching, he's never been a part of a team with so many injuries.

are you saying that he's wrong?

All-Sun Belt team out, UNT pro day notes
Green Crazy replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Not locking out is not allowed at the combine. I watched at least two players get reps knocked off for doing so. I hope those 40 times that you posted are closer to the truth, otherwise they were ridiculously slow.- 9 replies

Can't RV get Dan into the Oscars?
Green Crazy replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
they better make this happen quickly. me no think he'll last too long. -
He's going to be there one year and transfer out.
-
I think so. He's not having as good of season as anyone wanted, but when you look at his numbers, they are barely good enough for me to consider him HOF worthy. The only reason why I wouldn't put him in is the length of his tenure. Right now, he goes in, but only after George O.

Big Weekend for Will Atterberry - Senior Specialist Combine
Green Crazy replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
good luck, will! -
yesterday, while i was home taking care of a sick 5 year old i saw the c-usa women's diving and swimming championship on foxsw. i thought this was cool, because it made me realize that not just the football and basketball teams would be more visible, but all of our teams both men and women. rice ended up taking the trophy yesterday btw. so they will be the ones to the women need to take down next year.

So, a way for us to help get more traffic is by listing the player and school in the title of the thread....makes sense. I'll start doing that. -
Rice Game vs, UNT on Halloween - National TV!
Green Crazy replied to CaliMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I consider myself a "diehard" fan of nt football and even I can't convince myself to go to the game over going with my wife and daughter trick or treating. I want to be there really badly, but family first. Even if this wasn't Halloween, I would be going solo or with a buddy, because of it being a school night. The pre trick or treating idea is a good one, but most families might choose their neighbors to give their kids candy over drunken tailgaters. Sorry, I'm not usually someone who knocks others ideas, but this is just not a family football night, no matter what you do. That being said, I like the game being on Halloween and regionally televised. I think the students will have a decent turn out and exposure is exposure. Lots of folks will be close to a tv this night and wanting to watch football, I usually stop down for two Texas teams playing when I'm flipping channels and I think others will too. The alumni side will be pretty thin and I know alum will be pissed about having to miss a game, but publicity makes this a win in my opinion. I expect about 17-20k for this game if we've got a decent record and 15k if we don't. -
Very well said. This.

I think once he gets his grades in order, Sid will be a good player and will help out a lot. Navasota was a f'n beast when I watched them in the state finals! Very talented team, to say the least.

CFN Predicts UNT Will win 2 Lose 10 in 2013
Green Crazy replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
If he has been doing well against our defense, then I'm optimistic. Not that our defense is great or even real solid, but for him to of been out of games for as long as he has and to be able to do basically what other QBs have been doing means that he's not far from being full speed. Either that, or he's still got some rust and his ceiling is a lot higher than I thought. Both of these scenarios in my opinion have berglund playing much better than dt was last season. That being said, with the way sports has been treating us lately...I can see him not playing a down for some insane reason.
