If we were to win out in dominating fashion I think we might, might break the top 25. by dominating I mean roll the rest of the teams by 20 points. I don't see that happening.

also calvin minor. hasn't done too much yet, but he's a true freshman and once he adds some weight I think he'll be in the mix.

we would be a lot closer to 36 had we taken care of business in new orleans. that game is going to stick with me all year. i'm almost more upset about it now than I was that day....almost. I think we have a 5 week stretch that sets up perfectly for us. two of the weaker teams on the schedule on the road (maybe the two weakest) followed up by three home games, where two are very winnable (utep and utsa) and one that will be used as another measuring stick (rice). this could and probably should be a 5 game stretch that breaks some of those infamous streaks that we've accumulated over the last 8 years. gmg!

section 104 has never been the loudest, but it's coming around. it was the best it's ever been last night.

I know it's half way through the season, but this defense deserves it's own section of fans. it'd be cool if 100 or more students came together and get shirts made up with "hit squad" or tombstones on them. maybe a nt football helmet with forearms crossed in a x like some of the players do after a big hit, kind of like a skull and cross bones shirt.

there was a tweet posted on a previous thread that suggested stockstill was trying something different, but I think the guy was 8 for 8 or something, so why try something different? i'm guessing a injury.

I think actual attendees was no less than 19k.

I'm pretty sure that's the hardest hit I've seen since watching north texas games. Can't wait to see the highlight film from this year. There will be no shortage of plays to choose from.

I know what you're saying and I'm usually with you, but he's right about this. It makes a lot more sense to give it to someone after/while they enter the gate. most students won't go through the effort of making their way into the stadium without at least staying for a quarter or two, unless they are tailgating and even then some would stay. this will pad the official numbers, but won't add a lot to the "butts in seats" count. maybe they can give another $5 certificate to those that go into the stadium.

oh, yes. they definitely had our scheme handled. I agree that it was poor play calling and poor execution. we were winning some of these battles last year and this year we aren't. I still think we can win by being a running team, but we need to add a wrinkle to the offense to do it this year.

having the safety free to play the run and having him in the box are different. just watched it again and I found 2 plays with 8 in the box and a couple with the cb outside, but even with the backers. the definition of the box as I know it is having one of the safeties even or in front of the backers or basically 5 yards off the los. the safety was usually 7-8 yards off the line.

yes, did you? in fact I went back and watched the first half all over again, because I didn't remember this happening. they did blitz a few times, is that what you mean?

Tulane might of put eight in the box against us once or twice in the first half and that's being generous with the term. teams aren't needing to do that with us this year, because we aren't running the ball very well. some of the time they only had 6 men in there and we still couldn't do anything.

then factor in the possibility of rain. I always go in optimistically, but the crowd at 5 minutes to kickoff kicks me in my optimistic nuts.
