  1. I'll help as much as I can. BJ Lewis had one catche on the last drive of the game and I don't recall any other receivers making it into the game. They did throw Jamario out wide in a empty backfeild look a few times though. Don't remember seeing much of Nuradeen during the game (i was mainly watching our lack of pass rush). Roman might have come in a couple of times on defense, but mainly as a return man. DM, first half of the game is when he had most of his rushing yards if not all of them. Most of the runs were because the db's and lb's were in coverage, so he took what they gave him (these were good decisions), only a couple of called runs. The first interception was thrown our first possession when we had the ball on their 20 and moving the ball extremely well, it was thrown to a well covered receiver (brandon jackson, i think) in the end zone, DM's fault. The second interception was another interception thrown into their endzone (first half i think), which ended another one of our drives that would have ended in a field goal at the worst (i want to say it was almost the same scenario as the first, around the 20) and again DM's fault (bad decision). The third I don't recall at all, but I think that was DM's fault again, but this one came in the second half. OL, played well the first half, but in the second half Scnelly started blitzing and using stunts and the OL struggled to give DM enough time. DM did hold on to the ball too long on a few occasions, but most of the time he found his way out of the pocket and threw the ball out of bounds to avoid the sack. The OL's worst part of the night were penalties at key parts of the game. Grade, C-. JT, had a really good game, good portion of his yards on his 42 yd td run. DON'T KNOW WHY HE DIDN'T GET MORE TOUCHES, but the way the OL played in the second it probably wouldn't have mattered. Extra's -Defense played better overall, specifically the db's, but we don't have a pass rush (Gillmore saw lots of action in his first game back and looked good). -In a nutshell the two blocked punts that led to 14 FAU points and the two crucial intereceptions that took away at least 6 points from us, were the reasons we lost. Also, there was a missed field goal with less than a minute left that prevented us from trying an onside kick at the end of the game (didn't really matter). I hope this helps.
  2. While they did help us in the first half with 5-10 drops, they didn't move the ball at will in the second half. One of their touchdowns was scored on a one play, 74 yard pass, thats not moving the ball thats a fluke. The other two touch downs were after blocked punts and giving the ball to them inside our 25. Besides that, they gave up three field goals (bending but not braking), which is fine with me. Especially considering the fact that FAU went for it on 4th down quite a few times and we held them half of the time. The worst part of our defense in the pass rush (horrible), but our run defense was great and our secondary was much improved and average overall. For our pass rush being non-existant, I would say our defense played pretty good last night.
  3. Can you throw the ball over them mountains?
  4. Knowing we didn't take away from our stadium funds or any of the atheletics funds makes me feel soooo much better about these renovations. I think the stadium looks much better and I applaud Pittsburgh Paints and Drex for this contribution.
  5. Those look like uniforms from some of the original gaming systems or from a bad tv show.
  6. Excellent!
  7. Somebody please say yes!
  8. isn't there another site that doesn't require you to create an account?
  9. Someone explain how Troy winning a game helps us.
  10. I'm finding it hard to root for Troy when all they're doing is jumping in front of the camera and talking trash. It makes me appreciate what Todge is asking of our team even more.
  11. AWESOME!!! I hate the Frogs! Gary Patterson is a dill!!
  12. Owusu-Heming did get into the game and when I saw him he was usually around the ball. I think Ross and Sykes are hurt or at least they were right before the OU game.
  13. That sucks! I think this guy will transition well to lb with his speed (4.51 forty as of last year) and size (6-3 230)and will be a good player for us the next 2 years or three if he gets a medical rs.
  14. I have a question. Since it's difficult for a group of that size to find a matching color of khaki, then why don't they go with black? On a side note, the Mississippi State band was wearing Maroon shirts (polo's i think) and black basketball shorts and looked pretty sharp for not being in band uniform.
  15. Dodge2007 does make a point that I thought would be an advantage to this offense having good depth at receiver, in regards to a receiver running a deep route and the backup coming in on the next play. This would put fresh legs up against a corner who just ran a 40 yard route or force the defense to substitute for that corner. I know that would mean pulling one of the two best players from the game for us, but it makes sense in my basic football mind and it seems logical in general.
  16. How did the interception for the td take place? I had to watch the game on cstv on Sunday and the film cut to after the defender had caught it and I never got to see the throw. The first interception was a bad decision, the second was just a bad throw, bad throws will happen I can look past those, but it's hard to forgive a qb for bad decisions. All in all, I think he had a very solid game.
  17. Could someone tell me how we lost this? I had to stop listening at 14-3 2nd quarter and at that point it was all us. 45 points, what the F***!! That's 124 points in two games, someone tell me the defense wasn't as bad as it looks...we have 9 returning starters, it was supposed to be the strength of our team!?!? I know 7 was due to an interception, but geez.
  18. Unfortunate circumstances have forced me to not go to the game, is it going to be streamed on the internet?
  19. While listening to the Hardline talk college football today I heard one of them say that the OU offensive coordinators used SLC games to study Mendoza's defense and hoped he would use the same scheme as he did then. Apparently they said the scheme was VERY simplistic and would NEVER work at the college level. Low and be hold that's what Mendoza ran out there on Saturday and the OU coaches were laughing about it at the post game press conference. First has anyone else heard this? Second how basic is Mendoza's scheme, I noticed a lot of man to man, but I'm not an expert?
  20. I've listed all the stats I could find from this past week on the recruiting page.
  21. Holman #41, Chapman #90 or Jackson #49, Jackson mainly because of his unstable, Irvin-like number.
  22. I know, but Tech's o-line was the reason for a good portion of those yards, Harrell had all day to wait for a wr to come free...or get open. I'm just saying the SMU db's did a solid job against a good passing attack.
  23. There is such a thing as empty numbers.
  24. Three thing's I'm worried about for the SMU game: 1. Henderson running back kickoffs. (if we're not better on special teams this week than we were agains OU, he could run two back.) 2. D Martin (that dude is nasty. he takes some big hits, because of his size, but a monster with the ball.) 3. Their secondary. (I thought they played pretty well against Tech in the first half, almost holding them to 14 for that half.) We're going to need a really good game to pull a W out next week.
  25. How do you square your hips to something you can't get in front of? The players in their skill positions were way better than our players defending them, it's that simple. Another reason why it looked like our players were running in place was because while their starters came out after the first half, ours stayed in and played against fresh legs while OU substituted in other players. And your a fool for even questioning the teams pride. go to photos and look at #10, for an example of their superior athletes.
