why doesn't the big xii go after some schools itself? arkansas, tcu, arizona and asu would make 16 for the big xii. those are random schools by the way, just trying to make a point.

was there any sort of "advertising" for this event for the residents of denton? i'm not real familiar with this event and didn't know if this was directed mainly at students/alum.

i went with cusa, but if smu and other "locals" leave in some sort of realignment, then i don't know if it wouldn't be better to stay in the belt. i guess there would be a better tv deal for cusa.

yea, that was a really good game for him. i've changed my mind...he would have been an all big xii'er. plus, he had better plays in that game then those. sorry, that was the same play.

you can say that about booger too then. he probably wouldn't have done much for a better team in a better conference, but when you look at what they did when they played for us in our conference, then they are no brainers. as far as what he did stats wise...you can only do what you're asked to do.

Did anyone happen to see the show on FSN about high school football in Mississippi? It was an interesting look at the history of two high school teams and their rivalry. One of the topics was how generations of families have played for each of these teams and one of the names that has been on the teams for decades was Gandy. Shelton Gandy was considered by some on this show to be the best running back to come out of Mississippi and a God Father of football to this region of Mississippi. No wonder Coach Gandy can pull in such great recruits from that state. It was an interesting watch already and when I could relate it to UNT, it became really good. By the way it was called "Head to Head: Wayne County and West Jones"

I was under the impression that the qb was a big part of the running game in canales' offense. Usually his qb's are pretty quick/elusive, not a power type runner, right? I'm not sure what thompson has yet, but I know tune is neither quick or elusive.

i don't know how to feel right now. i think riley will be a great addition to the wr corp, someone like carey who we can use in the saint's package with a good threat to throw, but in my opinion i believe we take a step back in the qb position. this will probably hurt dunbar's numbers too.

i'm sorry, i'm not trying to be the negative guy, but does it bother anybody that less than 1% of our student body showed up for this...assuming bstnsportsfan3's estimate was close? it's on freaking campus! i've seen more students by the fountains for some sort of multi-cultural event when i was in school. i know that barring a test if i were still a student i would have skipped class to be there. it's shit like this that drives me gonzo! the team deserves better than that. other than that, it looked like a nice celebration. i wish i didn't have to work or i would've been there. see you at selection sunday! congratulations guys!! go mean green!
