  1. This is shaping up to be one of Benford's worst second half performances--and there's a lot of competition for that title.
  2. We beat SHSU at home last year, but our road record the last couple seasons, especially nonconference, has been atrocious. It will definitely be a significant step forward if our newly eligible players make noticeable contributions and help lead us to a win.
  3. Vito does write, "Frazier will play one semester for UNT" in the article.
  4. SE Louisiana also has a winning record, which includes a victory over UTEP.
  5. Yeah, I just wasn't sure I heard it right.
  6. If I heard correctly during the post game show, Benford said that Woolridge will be available against Sam Houston State but that Frazier won't be eligible until after that game. Can anyone verify that?
  7. We really closed out the half well after missing countless open shots earlier in the half.
  8. From what I have read, Benford will make about $400,000 this year and Cross, even after his most recent extension, makes around $200,000. We could probably more than double his salary if we really wanted him, but he probably still wouldn't take it. Being a UTA alum, as others have pointed out, he likely will only leave for a power conference team.
  9. Sure, take the bowl bid. But, my goodness, this team is not ready for primetime.
  10. So, just keeping up with the box score, it looks like Rutgers missed a ton of threes in the first half. Any chance that was caused by improved perimeter defense, or were we just getting lucky?
  11. Regarding the part in bold above, I kind of wonder if Fine had another injury (or two or three) that wasn't quite enough to keep him from playing. I really have no idea, but after the beating he has taken, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the cumulative effects of a million sacks started hurting his throwing motion or footwork. If so, then he might come back prepared to play his best game of the year.

  13. The traffic on 35 was brutal. We didn't make it until halftime as a result.
  14. Initial prediction: WKU 42 UNT 27 Prediction after taking CUSA refs into account: WKU 52 UNT 13
  15. I'm tentatively planning to be there Friday, but it depends on when I get out of a late meeting.
  16. I no longer have the slightest faith in CUSA to effectively (or perhaps ethically) officiate a game. It is hard to even look forward to the Western Kentucky game, knowing all that we are going up against. There should be disciplinary action taken against last night's crew, but it won't happen.
  17. I always scoffed at the idea that conferences protect their favorites through biased officiating, but I have never seen anything like this game. If this game is close toward the end, I don't think we'll stand a chance.
  18. I never vote in these polls because the one time I did, we lost. Now I've got to respect the jinx game. But, I will say this: While I never had the pleasure of meeting or upvoting Matt from A700, something tells me there's a 100% chance he's looking down and smiling at his Mean Green and another edition of the polls he so dearly loved.
  19. Half of the people can be part right all of the timeSome of the people can be all right part of the timeBut all of the people can’t be all right all of the time ~Some Nobel Laureate
  20. Way too early for this. Oh, wait. Damn. Exactly the right time.
  21. That's fair. Of course, he did still throw for over 400 yards and 4 TDs, so it wasn't like he was a disaster--even with the interceptions.
  22. Is the part in bold really relevant? I'm not calling you out--as I too have heard this numerous times. But, looking at the box score, it shows that Litton threw 57 times while the backup only had two pass attempts. Litton's absence in their game against Louisville probably did hurt them, but I'm not sure it had any impact at all on the Akron game. Someone please clarify, if I'm missing something here.
  23. Yes, provided we tossed up a 100-sided die and 99 of the sides read, "Alabama Wins."
